Gabapentin Burning During Withdrawal

On Gabapentin for 2 months. Started at 900 mgs (3 doses 3xs/day) for anxiety after getting off Vicoden. Went down to 600/day after 1 week, then 400 3 weeks later. Having severe burning all over body, really horrific. Has anyone else experienced this? And, how much longer should I expect to ween off the 400? Went to dr about burning and he said I needed to increase dosage but I am fearful since I'm down to 400. The burning is the worse at night, unbearable. Have ordered magnesium taurate since others have indicated this will help with withdrawal?

If you withdrawal too rapidly from a medication, it can cause a rebound effect of the conditions it is actually intended to relieve, while you're taking.

Gabapentin is known to help with nerve pain, thus your drop in dose has excited your nerves and cause the burning sensation.

Other withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, diarrhea and the risk of seizures.

It would be best and safest to follow your doctor's advice.
