Gabapentin Methylcobalamin Tab

I would like to know similar to metanx formule drug for foot peripheral neuropathy availablle having same contents as under in India.
Contents
Each Metanx® tablet contains:
L-methylfolate Calcium (as Metafolin®) 3mg
Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate 35mg
Methylcobalamin 2mg

or advise any similar drug for treatment of foot neuropathy.

I asked our pharmasist if there where any generic equivalant medications to metanx and she said that there are some that are similar but not equivalant. I asked if she would use meds that are similar but not equivalant and she said no. She called it AB rated which means excactly the same and there is no AB rated medicine for metanx. metanx is the only metanx. Hope this helpls. Roggman

That is correct, there is no generic/substitute available, due to the proprietary formulation.

The only thing I can suggest is consulting your doctor about what else you might be able to use.

My understanding of why metax is different from all other forlate is that it is the active form of folic acid. That is it does not need to be matabalized through the liver so a much higher concentration of folic acid enters the body giving a better opportunity for the nerve endings to heal. the b12 and b6 are also active forms so higher absorbtion rates. Found out that Meck Germany makes L-methylfolat and is only company trade marked so there are no other forms of this except in metanx. Hope this helps, Roggman

my wife 61 has pain all over bod. She is diabetic 100 to 160 at times. She is prescribed mecolup-g 2 tabs three times daily for a week and then one three times for a month. can she take paracetamol occasional y for head ache?
