I forgot if I took my blood pressure medicine this morning. I take 20 mg of enalapril maleate in the morning every day. If I don't take it today will it hurt me or if I take a double dose will it hurt me?

Hello, Linda! How are you? What did you decide to do?

For future reference, unless your doctor specifies otherwise, it is generally more risky to skip a dose, since that creates the risk of your developing rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate, which could reach dangerous levels that create the risk of heart attack, or stroke, according to the NIH.

Taking a double dose just once is usually not as dangerous, since it will generally only results in your experiencing more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and lower blood pressure.

Of course, such scenarios do not always apply, so it would be best to ask your doctor what you should do in the future if such an issue occurs, again.
