I would like to know any and all side effects to this particular medication. I have been experiencing stomach ache, headache, low backache, palpitations, taste, nausea. Are these normal side effects? and if not, should I stop taking them. Of course, you can't reach a doctor over the weekend. I have taken 9 doses in 10 days. I forgot to take my normal dose on Friday night and felt great the next day but took one last night when I realized that I had missed a dose, and woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick again. This has been going on for the last 3 or 4 doses. The reaction usually occurs 4-6 hours after taking the pill.

I took three doses of Difuzole (Fluconazole) on three consecutive days. My last dose was taken 5 days ago. I am still besides myself with the itchiness it has caused. Feel like I want to climb the walls! Antii-histamines /cortisone has done nothing to help. Please advise if there is anything else I can take to stop the itching?
And does anyone know how much longer it is going to take for this nasty drug to work out of my system?

Did that stuff from your doctor help get rid of the numbness and tingles? I have it too after taking it.

I too have tachycardia and take atenolol for it. I took 1 Diflucan yesterday for the first time ever for a yeast infection. 9 hours later while sleeping I woke up with my eyes doing a strange flutter while shut and heart racing. By the time I talked myself into getting up and checking my pulse it had calmed down to 70bpm but heart still pounding. I had no idea this pill could cause this and now reading it could last a while. Oh boy...not good. Going to call doctor this morning to see what I can do to calm the heart down.

I have been taken the medication for 4 years now and the only thing I have noticed is that when the dosage is lowered more hair grows back. But because I'm still taking the medication my hair still continues to break off and is very brittle. My scalp and skin are always excessively dry. I hope this helped a little

I was taking Diflucan for seven days 100 mg then my yeast infection went away and came back so I was put back on it for 200mg for 20 days, By the fourth night I was having a very odd feeling I did not feel like myself, i unusual thoughts, fear and panic my heart was feeling really odd, insomnia I felt like I was losing my mind, I was so scary. I took some charcoal to get it out of my system. .I instantly thought it must be the medications since I'm generally a really calm person. Stopped the Diflucan went straight to a naturopathic doctor and was put on gentle and natural formula with no side effects

Wow-- I was prescribed 150mg one single dose for a yeast infection-- and I had the worst side effects ever! This medicine made me crazy-- constant headache for 5 days, fatigue, weakness, nausea, horrible ANXIETY, no appetite! I think it worked get rid of the infection but next time I will do over the counter yeast infection meds! I was in such a constant brain fog from just one dose-- had to even take a week off work-- could barely function. My body has never done well on antibiotics and I am allergic to most of the common ones, maybe this is the reason for such a strong reaction.

i took 1 dose of 150g to combat a yeast infection that was in itself a side effect of antibiotics taken to cure strep throat. i broke out in an extremely painful rash on my neck - it's been 5 days now and is progressively getting worse, the skin is actually breaking, is such a deep red it's nearly purple and is very hot and painful. i've also had nausea for the past 3 days. i'm hoping that it gets through my system in the next day or 2. this seems to be quite a strong and dangerous drug and i'm instructed to never ever take it again, as side effects will increase exponentially now that i have a sensitivity to it. next time i'm just getting through the strep.

My husband is experiencing the same affect but also having chills,fevers and nausea I don't know what to do I guess calling his doctor will be on the list first thing in the morning he is a heathy man and contacted a rair case of fungal meningitis it's crazy how life's works sometimes:(

I bought fluconazole for thrush as a single dose tablet over the counter several times, and each time I get very painful blisters on my lip, hands, bottom of my back inside a star tattoo, and finally got a diagnosis other than herpes simplex 1.

I have had what is called a "fixed drug reaction" where the blisters are coin shaped lesions. I have been prescribed steroid tablets it's that bad. I was told that it was stress, fatigue and herpes because it was on my lip, but having not come into contact with anyone who has hsv1 I was still looking for the answer.

My doctor was absolutely fascinated with my lesions and he said I had made his day because he's never actually seen it himself but heard lots about it. Apparently it can manifest itself into scar tissue and tattoos, which explained a lot of things to me.

I will never be able to take it again. Each time I have taken it over 3 years i have had this problem 6 in total now. Hopefully this may trigger someone else's reaction go to the drug, as i would like to hear from anyone who had the same horrible blisters and associated tingling and incessant itching!! (calamine lotion/ibuprofen helped with this as well as cetrizine, however the cetrizine was not very effective and so I now have prednisolone 30mg a day for 7 days. )

I took diflucan same thing as fluconazole. The first day my liver hurt, the second day I felt like I had the flu and still liver aching, My MD suggested milk thistle and by the third day I still had flu like feeling and I started to have cramping in my pelvis I never get cramps , I called my OBGYN thinking it was something going on that is female related . Then I looked up the side effects for Diflucan cramping body parts like arms legs stomach and pelvis. I'm completely done with antibiotics after taking clindamycin and having to deal with the yeast infection , stomach inflammation and candida overgrowth that is why my doctor gave me diflucan to kill thd candida . I called my doctor and they said that if I took four days worth that should still keep killing that candida so don't take anymore and that I'm in the clear. Well I've already called my chinese medicine doctor who is and herbalist /homepathic and will continue with a simple gentle effective candida killer that will not try to kill me in the process of making me well.

I am on the one dose and have had afib episodes for 3 of four days following, headache, fevers, chills and aching in my abdominal and pelvic region nonstop. Tomorrow morning will be day 5 of these awful side effects. I am being told it's the flu, but I don't buy that at all. This drug is powerful and can remain in one's system. I'm going to try and find out how long.

Diflucan side effects have been horrid. I took on 150mg pill on Thursday and now 8 days later I have tingling in most extremities, numbness is legs and arms, palpations for the first 4 days after eating a meal and now twiching in legs in face. I stopped after 1 pill, got a steriod shot from the doctor who prescribed the medicine and have taken 200-400 mg of benedryl a day to lessen the symtoms. Avoid Diflucan if at all possible!
