Hi, I was prescribed this medication on 4th June this year for 7 days as during an endoscopy they found about 40 white lumps in my gullet, they sprayed it and it didn't go away so they said it might be thrush... they couldn't take biopsies as my INR was 2.8 (i am on life long warfarin) .. my symptoms prior to the treatment were pain in the area of my hiatus hernia radiating down to my lower abdomen, difficulty swallowing (also have thymic hyperplasia) and really bad chest pain. I finished the full course but ever since still waking up early hours with the same pain which lasts for hours and i can't get any sleep and i have lost my appetite and feel nauseous all the time.
They said if it didn't work i would have to go back for biopsies, could it be cancer ? nobody explained anything and i feel so ill all the time !

Hello, Jasmin! How are you?

Yes, there is a chance it could be cancer, but a very small one. It is most likely something benign, such as issues caused by GERD or tonsil stones. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

Have you tried taking any antacids? If your doctor approves you could probably try something such as Pepcid to see if it helps. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

Are you on any other medications, or just the Warfarin?
