Finding A Good Pain Doctor In The Va Dc Md Area That Will Help You Out (Top voted first)
UpdatedLooking for a good pain Doctor that will prescribe Oxycodone. Its so hard working two jobs with no insurance, and trying to go to school as well to get my degree. I work for a moving company and install computers all day long. Always in pain Looking for A GOOD PAIN DOCTOR!!! WHO WILL PRESCRIBE OXYCODONE!! PLEASE HELP Preferably in the Northern Virginia AREA!!!
I also need to find a new dct, same area, who will keep me on oxycodone (percocet) 4 x's a day 10 mg as I was for 3 yrs.. Old severe injuries tried all other types of treatment 1st then had to start pain med and now my dct left the country.. I've tried 3 so far + no one will write it they want me to start all over w/ injections which is pointless... I'm in hagerstown but will drive if I have to to find a good dct! Help any1
The best is dr Winfield in Hampton va or dr latiff who you call and pay cash and will serve you that very day and every two weeks. My friend goes there for a back problem and he gives 90-120 30mg oxy IR every two weeks.
Guys, I was on this forum asking the same stuff a little more than a month now. I've been opiate free for almost 30 days. I feel amazing right now. The withdrawals were bad but it gets better every day. Just a thought
There is really no way we could possibly have information on what a doctor will prescribe for you.
In addition, going in and asking for a specific medication gives a doctor the impression that you are a drug seeker. In these cases, it is always best to let your medical records speak for themselves.
In the D.C. Metro area, it is also very hard to find places that will do this, at all. I lived there for awhile and I know first hand that they are very strict and picky about the treatments they provide, most pain management doctors would rather use other forms of treatment, before resorting to just writing prescriptions for medications.
In most cases, it's even hard to find a pharmacy that carries such medications, because of the high risk of theft and diversion. There are usually specialty pharmacies that you have to go to in order to get them filled.
Have you tried just consulting a general practitioner to see if they will help, or can refer you to someone who can?

Hey man please message me back i have plenty of info that can be useful, i am very discreet and do not like to blow s*** up
No, smart pain management sux.. they don't listen to your concerns at all
I've looked and tried for 8 months now and haven't been able to find 1 who will prescribe anything.. No VA has a place called Virginia spine institute they don't take my insurance but. Have a family member who goes there for their pain meds (was in accident w/ me and has old injuries) they give him what he needs... Also, the only 1 in WV will not write for anything so don't waste your time. If you find one or get any other names, please post it bc I'm still looking for 1 myself. Any help is appreciated, I've been in more pain than I can explain.. I have det disc disease, pinched nerves, and thoraciic nerve outlet disease and still get put on eiother tramadol or injections, which haven't helped:(
I've had 2 spinal fusions due to a car accident in college. I also suspect the injuries I substained while deployed in Afghanistant didn't exactly do much to help my situation. Anyway my last ACDL surgery was in mid August and I am really regretting it now as my issues and pain a 10'times worse. Long story short been to 4 rounds of PT over the last 3 years, multiple injections, acupuncture and the list goes on. I have a great job and I'm start grad school soon. I've decided the only thing I'm sticking with is what's tried and true. With all that being said I'm really looking for a good pain doc, clinic, whatever in the DC, VA, MD area. Money and distance isn't an issue I just want to live a normal life again. Any PMs are greatly appreciated. I hate to say but after 4 years I'm desperate. I have small kids and want to br able to enjoy being a father. Thanks in advanced.
Hey can you help me out with a pain management dr? Mine just got shut down and I'm hurting :( is this American pain and spine in Hagerstown still open? Thanks
They just opened so they take self pay and they prescribe what u need it's all legitimate if u have legit problems but they really try to work with you. They only take dc md and va. They look at your history of what your getting and see if it's working if not they bring u up but it s a process
Hey breezy, I go to my Dr in Frederick MD. It's not triple AAA. The triple A is a joke, they want to give u inj's. and surgery. I go to a different place near 7th street where I get 140 oxycodone and 84 of the opanas every 28 days. They never once had me have an inj. or surgery and I've been here going on 2 yrs. Love the place. I'm self pay so it's 250 a visit but worth it.
I have chronic pain in my back, knees and neck. I have been on Oxycodone 15 mg + Oxycontin 40 mg. I had to find a new doctor but am having a hard time. I have all my records and have been in pain management since 1986 after a back operation that was bad and a dislocated knee with arthritis in both knees, etc. I was in Advance Pain Management but was turned away, now looking for a new pain management clinic or doctor.
Thank you for this information. After 12 years of pain management my hubby's doctor just told him he will be cut off in two months. I don't understand how the govt can continue to hurt pain patients. During this epidemic they have concentrated their efforts on people in pain. Doctors are afraid to write prescriptions. As of July 1st 2017 a new regulation has gone into effect in MD. I also read that Maine has really changed their administration medical professionals who prescribe narcotics.
Thanks but all pharmacies around here carry oxycodone. You do not have to go to a specialty pharmacy, even the mom and pop pharms carry oxycodone.
jack- Obviously if you found a doctor in michigan you go see him and ask him where to fill your medication LOCALLY. since you are not from the area. First of all you must make sure the doctor takes out of state patients. As long as they do you do not have to hide from the doctor that you are from Pennsylvania. With that being said and you prescribing doctor knowing you are seeing him from PA then there should be no problem in having him suggest to you as pharmacy in michigan to get your meds. I am astonished that you even have to ask something like that. Obviouisly PA is not going to fill a script for Opiates from Michigan. If you were going to a connectiong state like WV or Ohio they might fill them in PA but corssing more than one state line is suspect for any pharmacy. Think about it man, it is not difficult to connect the dots guy. If you are seeing some great PM doc in Michigan then you will fill the script very close to the Doctors office. Usually PM docs have specific pharmacies they refer their patients to. So good luck man but you seem nervous and not to know too much about the whole system and how it works so I wish you the best you might want to take some Xanax before you see the doctor and ask him to prescribe you some as well. Also why are you posting this in a DC MD VA forum. Find the right forum to post in next time so you do not waste others time who are posting in the correct forum looking for answers to their questions.
John Doe- I get that you are speaking of Dr. sam Orahee but what about him. I have heard he is a insanely rude individual who actually had a patient die under his care. I do believe he does write oxy scripts but I also saw a few patients comments saying they were not ab le to get any meds from him. He is another one of these doctors who believes in injections. I believe you have to agree to take an injection to even see him. I am sure these epidural injections cost an arm and a leg. So to see this doctor i can imagine you will be paying 3 to 5 hundred for a first time visit which is scarcy to think about if he only gives you a shot and no meds.
Does anyone know of a good doctor in the va area, preferably near richmond area. I am looking to get roxi 15s or 30s. I currently take 5mg percocet 2 pills every 4 hours as need. I have a tumor inside my femur/hip. I have mri paperwork,ct scans and more. If anyone can help me me find a doctor that would be amazing. I also have insurance. Please email me if you can help me me {edited for privacy}
