Re: Danniegirlj (# 247)
I saw several at Westminster and Catsonville. My advice is that once you find a person you like stay with them.
Re: jan (# 10)
Can you tell me what doctor you saw at Smart Pain in White Marsh?
Re: Bunny (# 234)
We're you able to find out I'm in same boat Woodbridge
I am a 30 year old with chronic pain from a cervical spine fusion a year ago and have developed issues with my lumbar spine and s-joint as a result. I'm looking for a doctor near Baltimore that can help with prescribing pain medication. Money is no problem and I have insurance. My previous pain doctor said there wasn't anything else they could do for me because they didn't want to prescribe opiates. So this is just how I'm supposed to live? PLEASE anyone with a good doctor that can help me in the Baltimore/Towson and surrounding areas.
I just moved back up here from Florida where I shattered my ankle and had multiple surgeries. My new ortho here took me off my pain meds without warning less than 3 weeks after the surgeries. I didn't think much of it because I thought the pain was going better and i had gotten down to 1 or 2 5 mg Percocet a day. Then 2 days after quitting all together it flared up and has been on fire and in pain for the last 4 days now. I need a low dosage of pain medication still and physical therapy and can't seem to find a Drs office that doesn't tell me upfront they won't prescribe any kind of medication. I don't have insurance so I'm paying cash even while unable to work. If anyone has any suggestions for northern va or Maryland please let me know...I have half of a pill left and have been putting off taking it because I don't know if I'm going to end up regretting it if the pain gets worse. Thank you. Also would like a doc that offers physical therapy if possible. Thx.
Re: Honeybee (# 242)
Honeybee thanks for your reply. My current doctor is in Greenbelt but I'm willing to go further out if needed. I would really prefer to find a primary care our PM doctor that accepts Medicaid bcuz I'm on disability and cannot afford to pay.
Re: Mommy of 4 in Pain (# 241)
Where are you in MD? I do know of a doctor, but it is cash pay only which is 275 month and 350 for the first visit. The first visit is long. And they do U/A's every 3 months. I am trying to find a new location now as I was driving too far, but they are great - Coastal Care in Denton, MD.
Re: Mommy of 4 in Pain (# 240)
Hey just checking if anyone had any updated information regarding a PM Dr it any Dr that if like it's no surprise about presribing opiates for chronic well finished pain. My Dr had not cut my Percocets down to 5/325 bid Wich is not helping at all. With the weather changing an due to my fibromyalgia I was in severe pain over the Thanksgiving holiday and ended up taking 2 Percs three times a day. I suddenly don't believe in doubling up on meds without a doctor's permission but I could barely make it through. Also I do have state insurance which I think plays a huge party in which doctor's I can see and which procedures they can perform. I was only give 60 if my pain meds and if I have to continue to didn't up I will run out before my 4 week appt. I have four done and just started a new business and can't afford to be in the bed all day bcuz of my pain. If someone could please msg me discreetly if u have any info to offer. Thanks so much
I need help finding a new PM doctor in Maryland that will prescribe ongoing opiates. I have fibromyalgia and 2 herniated discs with left & right leg radiculopathy. I am currently taking Cymbalta 60mg, Percocet 10/325 (which barely helps and was reduced gone today to bid) and Gabapentin 300mg bid (which I'm coming off of bcuz of severe anxiety and mood swings). I was changed from Lyrica bcuz although it was helping with the pain it made me feel awful. My PM doctor had given me 3 steroid injections with each helping less than the first and us now trying to wean me off the Percocet bcuz she started u have been taking it for a year and the treatment plan had not helped. I am looking for a Dr in MD that will continue to prescribe my opioids and hopefully include a long-acting opioid into my treatment without trying to send me for back surgery. I am reluctant to have the surgery bcuz bring a nurse for 18yrs I have seen too many instances where the surgery for not help or made things worse. I used to be very active and an a mother of four boys. I would just like to find a fix that will prescribe my meds so that I can get my quality of life back as my chronic debilitating pain is causing severe depression. My conditions are well documented as my neurologist ran at least 6 evaluations on me before referring me to PM. Thanks in advance.
Snappy, does this place prescribe long acting opiates like a get onto patch? I'm not interested in any narcotic pain medicine with a short half life. It's important to me that I am able to keep my pain level under control all the time. I'd rather deal with more pain all the time As long as it is manageable than deal with the highs and lows associated with short acting meds. Alsl, does this doctor prescribe non narcotic medications as well, and will they write me a refferal to have another Mri done since my Mri is a little under 3yrs old?
Re: snappy416 (# 212)
Which place are you referring to? I also need help finding a pain management doctor. I don't so much want opiates, rather than want a doctor to prescribe gabapentin, tramadol, and to be able to refer me to physical therapy. I cannot take any steroid shots due to having lyme disease so that option is not an option for me What is needed other than recent MRI results typed on paper and a CD w/digital images taken during MRI?? Unless I can find a doctor to prescribe a long acting opioid like a fentanyl patch I am not interested in any opiates. I do not want to deal with having to constantly carry with me and take pills all day aa well aa the contant rollercoaster where I am in pain every 4-6hours that coincide with the short term pain meds with a low Half-Life.
Re: In pain (# 233)
If you don't mind me aaking...who is your primary care doc?
Re: whiplash (# 38)
They will BUT they are rude, make you wait for hours, and they know they got you by the Balls.. sorry I currently go there and want to find another doctor. The guy I see is only interested telling you how bad they and how you should cut back, lose weight etc... but he is not a doctor he is a PC so no worries if you see a Doctor just make you appoint early and be prepared to wait.. If you are a legit pain patient, like most of us then you will get your meds. They are known for trying to get money for any and everything. Wanted me to do PT there 3x a week, and had to go every week for like 2 months then 2 weeks, and then monthly, BUT it seems like if you are a man, the Guy I see will at least listen to what you say, if your a female then not so much AGAIN this is just the guy I see. I have wanted to find another doctor for the 4 years I have been there. I live like an hr away, dont drive, and its hard for me to get a ride, that aside I want a doctor I can actually talk to, While I only take a small of amount of Oxycodone, my primary had wrote my script for years then left so I got stuck here.
I found the name on thread like this so I hoping someone can tell me of a Doctor who is doesnt say things like "there is no study that shows Opioids help menstrual cramps, and so on. I could go on and on. I have endometriosis, IBD, TMJ, several discs gone, Ra and so on, like most of us.. I have taken my medication responibility for years and I know what works for me, I do not want to and do not intent on changing it, any Doctor who listened would not want me to, My other doctor says its the stupid things he ever heard considering what I have.. I am over it and want to find a doctor I can have an honest relationship with and maybe I can address the other issues I have not even bothered to talk about, no sleep, other types of pain ,etc.. unless a drug rep brings it in than there will be no studys showing it works I already know it. Yes Im venting I dont like being treated like a criminal because of the medication I take and I know there are doctors out that that are knowledgeable of pain patients and how well the medications do work if taken properly. Anyway If anyone knows PLEASE of a doctor in AA county md PLEASE let me know, I will give you all the info of the best doctors at this doctor. I would see them but they are available when I can get there.
Re: rhonda (# 7)

Re: B (# 231)
Do they prescribe pain meds at Next Health? I am looking for a doctor who is willing to take over my pain management.
Does anyone know anyone who could prescribe me oxycodone? My career and life literally depend on it. I have Chronic Pancreatitis and I can not function while in pain or withdrawals. I'm in Manassas, Va.
I receive 15 mg oxycodone from my primary care doctor and am looking for pain management in VA that prescribes higher doses.
Re: rhonda (# 7)
Hey, I am in desperate need of a pain management doctor. I may be forced to quit my job if I can't find a pain doc to prescribe opioid pain medication. I have fluid leaking from a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, bulging discs, Lymes and an active bacterial infection in my body that prevents me from having cortisone shots. I was on a lot of heavy duty pain meds for years, so a percocet 5 isn't going to even touch my pain. I'm so grateful for your help. Your a life saver of not just me, but my family who I have to support. {edited for privacy}
