Looking for a good pain Doctor that will prescribe Oxycodone. Its so hard working two jobs with no insurance, and trying to go to school as well to get my degree. I have been in pain management for 10 years due to not wanting surgery and fussion done. I know two people who have had back surgery and did not have good results. I was seeing dr. Phillips for 8 plus years. He was a great uunderstanding doctor and with his help managing my pain i was able to work. I am a mechanic and the pain is unbearable and has greatly affected my job causing me to resign due to it. I have a family to support and am about to loose everything. I feel like i am going crazy and everyone is so quick to judge because I need meds to function and work. If anyone could please help I would be so grateful. I need to find a doctor in the Hampton Newport News area. Thank you in advance!

You people are dooming yourselves by asking a pain Dr right off the bat what meds you want. If you want to establish a good long lasting Dr - patient relationship, you have to let them go thru their own protocol. It may not be right, but the drug seeking addicts have ruined it for the real chronic pain sufferers. I encourage you to call MEDTRONICS and find a Dr in their network that does Spinal Chord Stimulators and Morphine Pain Pumps. I have a pain pump and it has saved my life.

I've been in pain management over 20yrs for chronic back pain. The last 7 has been treated with oxy ext release. My current Dr was Dr Wallingford of Hampton and before him was Dr Phillips of Newport News- both were taken out of practice within the last 2yrs. I'm currently waiting to get into Bon Secours Portsmouth pain center, but could take several weeks longer. I may have to take personal leave from work if I don't see someone soon. I've called around locally of what i could find and have gotten less than good responses due to either who my pain management Dr was, or issue because of what I was taking. My primary wants nothing to do with pain management so I need options in order to stay working. If you know of other Doctors I could check into or other options then please respond - thanks.
