Finding A Dr In Charleston Wv That Will Prescribe Pain Meds (Top voted first)

I recently was going to a pain clinic for my pain medication and was discharged because I had over the counter medicine in my system. I need to find a good doctor that will write pain madicine and wont discarge you over stupid stuff like taking over the counter medicine.

I live near Charleston WV, and I need a pain management doctor that will prescribe pain meds and take Medicaid , preferably without needing a referral but I will get one if I have to.

I am very sorry that this happened to you.

However, did you sign a contract agreeing to such terms in order to be treated there?

And what was the medication you had in your system?

As to looking for a new doctor, you are going to have to stick with pain management. Under the new laws, general practitioners will no longer be able to prescribe pain medications for long-term chronic pain treatment.

Another tip I can give you is when you call a new doctor to set up an appointment, don't ask them if they will prescribe medications, since many will consider that drug seeking behavior and won't even set an appointment up for you.

Hello. My name is cindy and i am looking for a pain mgmt dr closer to me. Ive been traveling to the city. I am currently on oxycodone 30 mg 3x a day and opana 30 mg 2x a day. Looking for someone close to charleston or martinsburg WV.

EFQESHope Clinic in Charleston is an OK clinic. just be prepared 2 monthly drug test. They go in with you. Do not let anyone know you go .There are some people that I know that will call your doctor because you won't give them or sell them your medication. it is fairly easy to get in as long as u have medical records or mri's. It is self pay some ins but no medicare or medicaid. Follow their rules and u should be fine easy.

They see it as drug pushing because that's what the addicts claim they need the meds for and then they go out and sell them to get other drugs. I have had it happen to me.

Well I have not been so disappointed in our government. why are they treating pain as drug pusher and I thought we live in a America the land of the free. Well our freedom is gone people. now what buy off the streets cuz our doctor's hands are tied and really make drug pusher rich !!!

my name is Robert j Cottrell, I have been trying for months to find a doctor that would help me.it seems that all that don't need them get them. I have proof that im in bib trouble. my right hip is gone but that's not the bad part, it has now spread to the small of my back and into my spine and tail bone.i am disabled with this and every day is a new day in hell.and on top of that,itake care of my mom and dad that are 85 and84.i jet cant hold on much longer.please help. thankyou.

Bear .... Have you taken your wife to a pain management doctor? This is about the only doctors that will prescribe pain medications these days. Also, many of pain management doctors are anesthesiologists who can give steroid inj's. and such which can also help a great deal sometimes. I also recommenced that you go with her, do not let her go alone. I seem to get a lot better care when my ex husband has taken me and now my long term gentleman friend will go with me most times. I think it helps a doctor when someone else is there to vouch for their loved ones pain and can also answer questions that a doctor might have about alcohol use or illegal drugs, again vouching for your loved one. Please keep us informed. I do wish I could help you with a doctors name but i am from Florida but know your wives pain as I started with cervical herniation's. I send my love and prayers for your wife.

My wife has 3 herniated disc in her neck and the docs here won't help her. I am just trying to get her some ease. This neck problem has ruined her life for 2 years. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I totally agree with you. I bet no senator congressman or anyone in the legislature has this problem! Our government needs to look out for the people and let people that need pain meds for chronic pain have them. Give the drs a break. It's not their fault if the patient doesn't use the meds they were prescribed correctly! There are no drs. In Charleston wv that will prescribe daily pain meds because of the government. These drs are pain specialists! Let them do their job!!!

Dear Lilbitt, Who in the *H* are YOU? I live in WV. I am educated, and speak PERFECT grammar. I also taught reading before I was disabled by chronic pain caused by a thoracotomy. Do you know what that is, Lilbitt? Part of my lung was removed due to cancer. I have never smoked or done anything that would cause that cancer. How DARE you degrade any person for being in pain. I have sought legitimate pain relief from multiple pain clinics in and out of state. That surgery ruined my life. And it is *****s like you causing people with genuine illness or injury from getting the help they so desperately need. If you can't do any better than to insult people, then stay off of a board like this. And I don't wish you ANY love. You sow what you reap.

It's not the DEA. It's the state of WV. Other states have cracked down but within reason. They haven't run their pain management docs out of state. Both KY and WV have created the mess they're in as the #1 and #2 states in the nation for illicit drug/fentanyl deaths by passing ridiculous laws to appease an aging ignorant constituency. Sorry but it's become downright ridiculous. People in excruciating pain can't get treated because of their politics and the politicians are still spewing the same propaganda. The methamphetamine problem is just as big a problem and you hear nothing about it since they got on their opiate soap box. These i**** politicians don't have enough sense to investigate how other states have successfully fought the problem without destroying the lives of legitimate patients. Yes I'm bitter.. I had a brother commit suicide 3 months after losing his pain meds for a chronic condition so I'm getting out of this state.. and apparently educated people are leaving in droves for a variety of reasons... last person out, turn off the lights.

That's not true. hope clinic will write but they will discharge easy, cuz I just got kicked out for them saying my meds were not in my system. when they did an office drug panel all my meds showed up. when they sent it off it just disappeared out my system. I didn't get drug panels every month and when I did no one went in with me..... the reason they discharged me is cuz I had someone who wanted my meds and cuz I would not give them to them they called my doc...

when I had urine test at the Dr. office amphetamines showed up so they sent it off for further testing. I had been going there for over a year now and never failed a drug test and the only thing I had taken was over the counter cold medicine. The Dr give me 20 pills for my take down dose but told me to take them like I would normally take my meds that if I had only taken over the counter meds that I would be fine. She told me to call in 72 hrs and find out but that she was sure I would be coming to pick up my prescription. I waited and just went back to the Dr office instead of calling well they told me that they would no longer see me as a patient. I ask why and the reason they give was because they didn't prescribe me the over the counter medicine. And that wad all that showed up was dayquill and Mucinex. But on the discharge papers it said I had pain meds that wasn't prescribed and not enough of the pain meds that were prescribed. I was prescribed 4 30mg Oxy's a day and 4 5mg oxy's. I have a lot wrong with my back and neck and RSD in my arm which is very painful. I need to find a Dr. in Charleston W.V as fast add possible. Since I did take my meds like she told me to I am a lot of pain and withdrawal.

Im a disabled female that has been to numerous doctors trying to get better so I can go back to work. All my doctors say Ill be on pain meds the rest of my life. My family doctor had his own private practice for about 30 years and About 2 years ago he joined Community Care, which they required me to see A pain doctor off and on. I saw my family doc last week and he said he could go ahead an write my meds ( which has happened numerous times) but I got 6 messages on my phone that The pain doctor was not going to be there for my appt. for me just to go to my family doctor so I did. Now the pain doc dismissed me. I did not get them early I went to the same pharm as I have for over 4 years. My fam doc called pain doc he said Im dismissed. Since the first time I saw him hes has not liked me and has been extremely mean to me. Ive has numerous people go in with me so they could see how mean he was to me. Now with all my numerous chronic medical issues I have to find a doctor to write me my pain meds within 2 weeks. My fam doc will give me a referral and all my med records so you can see how many serious problems I do have. If you could help me I would really appreciate it. It wiil be a true blessings. If I dont have something for the pain Ill have no quality of life, I wont be able to enjoy or probobly even see all my grandkids. Ive prayed that I didnt have to take these meds but its the only way I can do anything. I live in central WV and I can go through all new testing etc. Ive been threw it all shots etc and meds is the only thing so far so I can even live. My social worker my state nurse come to my house yestrerday to get me help at home. I thought my life was looking up then I got the call! Please help me! Have a blessed day! Its gonna be harder in WV. Since a ruling of 3-2 gives addicts yes I said addicts the right to sue pain Dr and pharmacy for their addiction. Heck I wouldn't prescribe anymore either. Years of college and mounted student loan debt to have it taken away because of addicts

We aren't pillbillies and some of us sincerely need help, I have a herniated disc, bulging disc, arthritis, bursitis, carpel tunnel and neuropathy just to start the list. I also have a hardening heart, heart disease and COPD. I HAVE BEEN ON PAIN MEDS MOST OF MY LIFE AND NEVER SOLD OR DID anything OUTSIDE OF WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO TAKE. I AM ON BLOOD PRESSURE MEDIATION, HEART MEDS, INHALER AND SLEEPING PILLS, JUST TO NAME A FEW. I TOOK MY ANNUAL DRUG PNAEL AND WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE BLOOD WORK THE NEXT DAY, LOW AND BEHOLD I started WORKING SECURITY AT SNOWSHOE RESORT NIGHT SHIFT AND COULDNT MAKE IT IN THE NEXT DAY FOR BLOOD WORK PLUS I LOST MY MEDICAL INSURANCE SO EVEN IF I HAD THE CHANCE TO GET THE BLOOD WORK DONE I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT THEY SENT ME A CERTIFIED LETTER STATING I WAS discharged FROM THERE PRACTICE FOR NON COMPLIANCE WITH SCHEDULE II NARCOTICS CONTRACTS. I DONT KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS HONESTLY I DONT. I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING WRONG. IVE NEVER DR SHOPPED AND HAVE ALWAYS COMPLIED WITH DRUG PNAELS AND PILL COUNTS AND HAVE DONE ALL THEY WANTED FOR 5 YEARS. SO COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED? MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS THRU THE ROOF, MY HEART IS RACING AND MY BODY IS IN SEVERE PAIN DAY AND NIGHT, NOT COUNTING arthritis IN MY BACK, ELBOW AND severe WITHDRAWALS. SOMEONE please HELP ME.

It is even worse now that it's 2016. I know someone that has cancer, bad back, he is elderly and has had the same pharmacy his whole life, same doctor for years, the doctor ended up getting in trouble. Now this poor man is suffering and he can't get into a doctor anywhere. The primary care doctor he goes to does not write for narcotics because of all the new laws. It was not this man's fault that the doctor that he has went to for the past 10-15 years all of a sudden got in trouble? The man shouldn't have had to suffer and if the DEA is wanting to shut down all pain clinics then the DEA should have to find the ones that are going to suffer the most, a new doctor or at least give them enough meds until they can find a new doctor. He was off immediately becaus the way he found out it happened, just also happened on the day of his appointment. I hope you have found out something better by now. I know this has been a few years back that you wrote but you jbccmentioned Snowshoe and I happen to know exactly where that area is. No good doctors for miles, literally in the middle of no where, but Almost Heaven!
