Finding A Dr In Charleston Wv That Will Prescribe Pain Meds (Page 3)

I recently was going to a pain clinic for my pain medication and was discharged because I had over the counter medicine in my system. I need to find a good doctor that will write pain madicine and wont discarge you over stupid stuff like taking over the counter medicine.

I've been on norco 10/325 X2 TID and tramadol QID for stinitus and degenerative spinal arthritis in my neck and mid back since 2009 (lower dose starting 2005) prescribed by my Neurosurgeon and Pain Management Specialist in California. I found out my insurance is no good outside of CA and I travel for a living, so here I am. I'm in in WV for at least month. I have my med recs w/ drug panel history and my docs back in CA said any pain clinic should be able to help. I have to pay cash so I am looking for the lowest cost I can find. Just FYI, Costco is the only honest pharmacy in the 2 other states I've been in (CA-FL) and their charge for these prescriptions is 20% why all other pharmacies charge. I understand Lexington is the closest one. Not good. So anyone have a recommendation on a fair priced pain clinic or Doc? and a best cash price on prescription meds in the Charleston area? My recs, drug panels and MRI prove I'm completely legit and I'd hate to have to fly back just for a prescription.

It is even worse now that it's 2016. I know someone that has cancer, bad back, he is elderly and has had the same pharmacy his whole life, same doctor for years, the doctor ended up getting in trouble. Now this poor man is suffering and he can't get into a doctor anywhere. The primary care doctor he goes to does not write for narcotics because of all the new laws. It was not this man's fault that the doctor that he has went to for the past 10-15 years all of a sudden got in trouble? The man shouldn't have had to suffer and if the DEA is wanting to shut down all pain clinics then the DEA should have to find the ones that are going to suffer the most, a new doctor or at least give them enough meds until they can find a new doctor. He was off immediately becaus the way he found out it happened, just also happened on the day of his appointment. I hope you have found out something better by now. I know this has been a few years back that you wrote but you jbccmentioned Snowshoe and I happen to know exactly where that area is. No good doctors for miles, literally in the middle of no where, but Almost Heaven!

Annomous . Drug addicts make me sick . They still get meds while Millions of ppl suffer severely and they have no clue what suffering is . And then can sue drs over addiction . What about the ones that suffer severely and can't sue a dr.

It's not the DEA. It's the state of WV. Other states have cracked down but within reason. They haven't run their pain management docs out of state. Both KY and WV have created the mess they're in as the #1 and #2 states in the nation for illicit drug/fentanyl deaths by passing ridiculous laws to appease an aging ignorant constituency. Sorry but it's become downright ridiculous. People in excruciating pain can't get treated because of their politics and the politicians are still spewing the same propaganda. The methamphetamine problem is just as big a problem and you hear nothing about it since they got on their opiate soap box. These i**** politicians don't have enough sense to investigate how other states have successfully fought the problem without destroying the lives of legitimate patients. Yes I'm bitter.. I had a brother commit suicide 3 months after losing his pain meds for a chronic condition so I'm getting out of this state.. and apparently educated people are leaving in droves for a variety of reasons... last person out, turn off the lights.

Uneducated people also have pain and need treatment. If you don't experience chronic pain you will never know what it's like.

Cindy, good luck with that. It's really hard to get a dr to write a script like that. I was getting the same thing. I've been going to pain clinics for 18 yrs or more. They found me disabled back in 1994. I have several medical problems just not one or two. Now with all the people od 's it's hard to get anything now.its not fair now the ones who needs it can't get it. My pain clinic recently shut down, and I have your problem. I've done went to several clinics and they find out what I'm on, then treat me like a junky, they get rude and act like they hate to deal with me. That's what it feels like, then they make remarks and say I'm going to give you a tabs and your lucky I'm giving you that. Come on, I've worked my way up, and over the years I got more medical problems, but I sure didn't need to be treated like that. So good luck. If you find a place count your blessings.

I have been in pain for several years. I went to a pain clinic but they closed with no notice! I need a pain clinic close to Bluefield WV?? I'm willing to drive as far as Beckley. But I don't know which one to go to without wasting my time. Especially since I don't drive & have a friend drive. It's arthritis plus spreading tiny neck , shoulders! My back also seems to feel worse than it has?' Thx hope you have a good suggestion! I just want to maintain my life style!

I have been on methadone 5 mg one time a day for several years. I started this medicine in 2004 from a doctor in Charlottesville, VA. He prescribed 5 mg 4 times a day and I felt like I had my life back. After about 2 years he passed away and then I found a pain clinic in the Princeton, WV area. This clinic closed so my regular physician would not prescribe my meds. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis aggravated by migraines and some other medical problems. As I said I'm only taking 5 mg in the morning to just be able to move around and get my body going. Now my regular physician says he may no longer be able to prescribe the one pill a day because of laws about opioids. He doesn't want to be classified as a pain clinic. Does anyone know of a pain clinic in the southern WV area or surrounding areas that has a pain clinic that may prescribe a little more than 5mg a day of methadone? I have NEVER abused them and I mean NEVER. I sit here today in pain trying so hard to clear the mind fog and pain to be able to just make it thru the day. I don't think this is asking too much for a physician to prescribe just a little more. I am 70 years old and in otherwise good condition. It's just the pain and mind fog from fibromyalgia and arthritis. I can get meds for the migraines without any problems. My stress level is super high. I really need help to have a little quality in my life

I've been trying to find me a dr who will give me something to help me. I was at another clinic, been there going on 9 yrs, and I went to another dr before that and was there about that same amount of time. But I never missed my appointments, or I had never failed a drugs panel. So if you would, what was that place you where going to? I've been without my meds for long enough. I can't sleep due to having light seizures, jerk around when I'm trying to sleep. I hate that happened to you. Nowadays you really got to be careful if you are getting your meds strong, because the rest of them won't write them for you.

Hi janie I'm sorry I know exactly how you feel! Same thing with . me I was taking 4 10mg methadone a day and oxycodone for breakthrough . I felt like I had.y life taken when .y clinic of 3 yrs decided to dismiss me . I've been looking and looking to a Dr to help me and not treat me like a junkie. I have alot of pain and suffering awful . If u have found a Dr to help you would you please respond back to me?! Bless you and I hope you aren't suffering anymore ! I am at the end of my rope!!

I realize this is two years old but I just came across this. I suffer from diabetic polyneuropathy and two bulging discs in my back (L4, L5). I recently just moved from Pennsylvania to Southern Virginia for a job and have had no success anywhere. Tried 3 different pain clinics. If you could still point me in the right direction I would be forever in your debt. {edited for privacy}.

Instead of paying a foreign doctor pushing drugs to get rich quick... try wild lettuce that you can find in almost every yard... be careful it is as strong as morphine and you can overdose and die.
