Filling An Rx For Percocet, Same Dr. Prescribing (Page 3)
UpdatedI was issued 2 scripts from the same Dr. For 10mg/325 Oxycodone. Due to Surgery last week total Hip Replacement! I know I will have to pay out of pocket cause my insurance just filled at beginning of the month. He gave me 2 due to tolerance & going through PHYSICAL THERAPY 2 to 3 times a week! Why won't a pharmacy fill this for me if I am getting them from the same Dr?
Hi~ I'm sorry for your loss. Kratom can be addicting for certain individuals. When some people try to go off Kratom they might wish they died. Go on these YouTube videos and listen to people that are going off of Kratom. Good luck.
Re: golfguyjoe (# 36)
That is illegal. You cannot have more then ONE doctor writing narcotic prescriptions. (CVS & my health insurance told me this)
You are lucky they did not catch it, because you could be arrested.
There is a system in place, that cross checks who you got it from, and ANY other narcotics prescribed.
I had 2 different surgeries, from 2 different surgeons. One will not write a prescription, for a surgery they did not preform. Plus, NO PHARMACY will let you hand them 2 prescriptions of the "same dose", from 2 different doctors.
The pharmacy believes, that the medication prescribed, should help with ALL surgery sites, (I do NOT agree with this)
I know, that I need something different, for my neck (ACDF 4 levels), then I do for my circumfrential lumbar fusion, and then my XLIF fusion.
The pharmacist at CVS disagreed, refused to fill it, so I went to WALGREENS.
They filled it but it took 5 days.
My neurosurgeon is banned from CVS still.
His receptionist, told me, "He let Dr Perillo use his prescription pad." (He was a pain med doctor, that left the practice, 3 months ago)
Now he is blowing all of us off and my XLIF is not even 6 months post op.
Re: Why (# 27)
Post dating, is no longer legal.
He should have written her a different dose, for "breakthrough pain."
CVS is now are against 90 day amount, even though my own insurance told me to request 90 day amounts, so I have no copay. Kind of hypocritical, because I got my prescription handed back to me with "TMP" stamped on it. (too many pills)
Its NOT TMP if you see it is a 90 day supply, and I have been doing it like this, since May 2017, with no dirty looks,or humiliating remarks.
If you re-read what I said, don't take Kratom for pain without knowing what is causing the pain-- he had an underlying condition--would not go to the doc and he was found dead face down on the kitchen floor-- KNOW why you need pain mess-- don't take indiscriminately-- I thought this was a forum for info on a new med my Doc prescribed-- non pain-but it seems to be an underground place for people seeking drugs. I won't be back.
I've also taken Kratom on and off for well over a year now and never experienced any problems stopping it, nor any withdrawal symptoms or effects. I also know people who've taken it much longer than I have with no bad effects. I think people talking negatively about Kratom are either paid pharmaceutical reps or simply didn't receive a pure Kratom product. Truth is, it saves many lives and there are no "official" reported deaths from Kratom (in and of itself) over thousands of years of use - much like marijuana in that sense. The nay-sayers should stop spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) on things they know nothing about.
Re: Kristyne (# 42)
My hubby gets three scripts and they are post-dated. I see them and I get them filled for him. He gets three and they are post-dated for those three months. He just picked them up this month.
Nervie (# 37) --
Sorry to hear about your loss... There are no official reported deaths from Kratom (by itself) and I have to question where your son got his Kratom from as not all sources are pure... His death could've very well been the result of ingesting too many impurities or a laced product, depending on the source.... Secondly, I would question how much your son was taking at any given time?
To insinuate that Kratom caused the death is the equivalent of saying marijuana killed someone... (which is almost laughable). However, there are synthetic and laced versions of marijuana that have killed people... Just not the real thing.
For the guy with having his wisdom teeth pulled and on Suboxone. I don't want to preach to you but...There is the antagonist in there (Naloxone). What you are going through is why I told my doctor not to prescribe (Subs) them to me anymore. I was afraid if I have major surgery the Naloxone would keep the opiates from working.
From what I have been told by doctors and even my own that if that were to happen, when I really need it for a bad accident,, it's not going to work or as well.. I have heard that people (addicts) that have OD'd because they would take the opiates just after the Subs and not get the usual high and keep taking more until...... I invite a reply if you disagree because I am not an expert. I just hear what I am told by professionals and people.
And for the person that said Subs only relieve pain up to a certain lower mg; I believe it from my own experience.... Also. if you want to hear about all 4 of my wiz teeth that were pulled, 2 of them were impacted. I don't know what someone's threshold for pain is, but for me, after a day or 2 at the most, my pain was very tolerable without pain meds. Even though I was prescribed 5 mg. percocet, I didn't seem to need them as I remember, but I do remember a lot of gum irritation. Maybe anti-inflammatories could have helped me better. I can't take them now because of my stomach condition and nosebleeds. It was done a long time ago in my late teens BUT one vivid memory was my stitches broke and the doctor did not turn up after I was waiting for 2 hours in his parking lot hemorrhaging in the middle of the night and calling him twice trying to get him to the office to repair it... Blood tastes awful to me..Ahg!
I also wanted to say sorry for your loss too golfman. I have never heard of Kratom. Is that like GHB or something. I really don't know but it seems like one of those that can slip by people without knowing. I thought health foods were relatively safe but who in the hell really knows. Someone mentioned the FDA getting involved in that market. Maybe a good idea.
Re: Kristyne (# 42)
I have gotten post dated prescriptions and I see no problem with it. You bring it in to get filled when it is time and who knows about it. If you are worried about that being illegal the ones that even know about it are you and your doctor. If your doctor will do it go for it.
Re: David (# 45)
Very good post David. You are Absolutely Correct Sir. Cheers to you!
Perhaps he gave you one, in case of emergency (severe pain) to be filled after the first script was done. Perhaps you misunderstood and he made an error on first script and meant to tear it up. And you accidentally picked it up. Just fill one now, fill the second one when the first is done. Why fill all at once? Hopefully you got in touch with the doctor to straighten this all out.
Hello everyone and anyone who can tell me where the real Kratom is available. If my stomach can tolerate it, it might be very useful for me. I would appreciate any knowledgeable replies. I was being prescribed Morphine but I just cannot afford the doctor visits anymore. Especially when the DEA I am presuming makes you attend every month. I was able to go back after a 6 month stretch but and had to fill out a bunch of forms as if no one knew me, then kept getting asked....Well if you are in so much pain why haven't you made your appointments. What a stupid question when the doctor charges $225 per visit because he is not in my network and if he was it would be $50, plus the meds can cost up to $80 depending on where they are filled and I do not sell my drugs. So I have to ask..... When was the last time a doctor has not charged me? I guess when I was a kid and my mother paid for it. Anyway, is Kratom totally legal? Is it expensive? Does it really work?
Re: Paul (# 48)
Hello Paul, I had reacted to someone's comment that said they had lost someone because of Kratom. When infact, there has Not been one death attributed to Kratom. It is a Powerful Pain Killer that Everyone here should know about. It is Saving Lives every single day. Google or YouTube search 'Kratom saved my life'. It is a Very Effective painkiller that does Not take lives like these pills do. If anyone needs pain relief, please research Kratom. You will no longer be under the Thumb of a Doctor.
Re: Paul (# 53)
Hi Paul. To my knowledge, there are probably at least a handful of reputable websites that carry Kratom. However, I've only stuck with the following two due to their consistency in delivering the same quality product, prices, and the peace of mind I get from knowing that I get the real thing.
Kwik Botanicals
KratomOne
Kwik Botanicals is my favorite for free priority shipping with every order and I can't go wrong with their Maeng Da Green.
But when changing it up, my favorite products from KratomOne are their TriForce and Red Bali blends.
NOTE: In order to view the inventory and order from Kwik Botanicals, you have to create an account on their login page (which I'm assuming for security purposes, only seems to be visible by googling "kwik botanicals mitra" and having it redirect you to the login page). Once an account is created, you could simply bookmark that page for easier access. That has been my experience anyway... Then go to the category called MITRA for their kratom products.
When it comes to consuming kratom, the taste is the hardest thing to get past for most people. I personally make mine in a tea (with hot water) and add stevia and/or raw honey with my desired dose (1 teaspoon) and wait for it to cool down before drinking. Apparently, tea is the traditional method for consuming kratom. I've had success putting it into several '00' capsules and taking it that way... Other's may prefer to just down it with some orange juice and chase it. However, stevia or capsules have been the only things I found that completely mask the kratom taste.
The effects for me last anywhere from 5 to 8 hours on 1 teaspoon (albeit KratomOne's TriForce blend has a threshold dose of 1 tablespoon - a rare exception to the standard dosing protocol in my experience). I can't imagine myself taking more than 1.5 teaspoons at any given time of other strains, but some people may have to experiment to find their personal level of satisfaction. My neighbor who lost his arm in a truck driving accident takes 1 teaspoon and that works for him...
I hope sharing my experience with kratom can help others make a more informed decision about it.
P.S. - Kratom is legal in most states, with the exception of Wisconsin, Indiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vermont and Alabama.
Re: David (# 55)
Very good information David. Kratom has been a Godsend for Thousands and Thousands of people.
Re: David (# 55)
Kratom...what exactly does it do, and make you feel? I tried Vaping CBD, and it relaxes me. Is it like that?
You will have to wait until the other prescription is almost gone.
Thanks for the reply guys. Generally I don't like to go outside the FDA for my meds. Sounds like this is a potent one. I've never tried GHB or any Synthetics. About the only things I have gotten were what they sell in grocery stores and health foods such as Kava Kava and Melatonin. Not too sure of this one though. Sounds like one has to be very careful with this one. I'm in Louisiana so I presume it is legal here. Don't know if I want to go that direction but thank you for the info as well.
Re: Question (# 57)
The best way I can describe kratom's effects for me personally, is that I get a warm fuzzy feeling, contentment, relaxed body/mind, increased endurance when I get on the elliptical, pain relief, similar mind/body feeling to marijuana (but not quite the same and with no impairment in my ability to get on with my day)... I guess it may be close to CBD in effects, but probably more pronounced depending on the strain and dose. I've actually seen articles on the web refer to kratom as the CBD of opioids... I have taken CBD as well and it relaxes me too. Red strains of kratom are touted for relaxation, insomnia and pain relief - while green strains are a little more energetic with the same properties - and white/yellow strains are very energetic with less of the other properties. NOTE: Higher doses tend to be more sedating and lower doses tend to be more energetic (this goes across the board for all strains in my experience).
Here's a compiled list of kratom's attributes/benefits I found at: "Benefits of Kratom"
Hope this helps!
@golfguyjoe,
Thanks for the feedback golfguyjoe! It's encouraging to know that others out there are aware of kratom's immense potential. I truly think it's one of the most underrated natural alternatives for pain, depression and anxiety. Your posts are very much appreciated!
