ive been on every pain medication I can think of.none of them work.my docter no longer knows what to give me.im in constant terrible pain. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I am so very sorry that you're in so much pain. The strongest that is currently available would be Fentanyl, it is over 80 times stronger than Morphine. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted a specialist? You may do better with a pain pump or spinal stimulator that are constantly working.

hi i have been on these patches for 4 months now but i still have pain ## Have you consulted your doctor? Do you have any medications for breakthrough pain? Usually, for proper pain management, something long acting like the Fentanyl is used and then some that works immediately, or a regular release medication, is also given for those times the pain is too much for the long acting medication to completely control. ## I am on 25mcgs of fentynal patches every 72 hours, plus 10/325 pecocet 1 every 4-6 hours for BT pain. The Percocet doesn't do much, and is very similar to my previous prescription of Norco and the patch isn't strong enough and runs out after 48 hours. I am going to ask for 48 hours, and 50mcgs on the patch, and switching to oxycontin for B.T. pain.Hows that sound to ...

Can anyone tell me if the fentanyl 50mcg and dilaudid 4mg, which I had taken two of by that time along with an inj. of Nubane & colace caused me to have a horrific seizure within a half hour after dosing? I have never taken colace before and some meds alone cause me to seize. Need to know. ## I'm very sorry about what happened to you. However, I really don't think anyone is going to be able to give you a definitive answer to this. It is possible, thought not common and, if you've had seizures before, it could have been entirely unrelated to any of these medications. Has your doctor ordered testing, such as brain scan, as recommended by the NIH? If something causes some type of chemical imbalance in your brain, then it could very well cause a seizure. Are these the only m...

I was dumb and ingested a Fentanyl patch. I am wondering how long it stays in your system for? ## You're just not too smart. Don't do it again. ## I believe i call poison control an speak with them asap, it can be done at payphone for privacy ## Posting on a free website and waiting for a response in these cases is NEVER a good idea. If you only did one, it shouldn't stay in your system for more than 48 hours or so, but it is a VERY DANGEROUS thing to do. ## fool!!! go to emerg now unless it was and is your desire to die...we're they prescibed for you?if not your breathing could slow down you get drowsy and your done..thanks for you commrnt moderator ## I've had the same problem with my pain meds and of course my patch. But, my issue was different and maybe something...

Went in for a regular pain management appt and was told that my last urine drug screen showed I was misusing my meds. Test gave a result of over 200 when its supposed to be between 2 & 4. Ideas?? ## It's been as long as I recall that my urine tests that are given in the doctor's office, are showing NO FENTANYL. Now, I'm the bad guy. Not the woman in town selling the patches and bringing fake patches back to her pharmacy in the new PATCH-4-PATCH program they have set up in North Bay Ontario. No, she's being extremely unreasonable in my case considering the circumstances. Now, I ran out of Fentanyl this Monday...it's Friday night. There was no new prescription faxed in yet...after they told me they faxed it in...it didn't show up the next day either...after the...

Fentanyl will show up on certain Immunoassays - not strips but a sent out test (new clinically approved immunoassay on the market) or most frequently confirmed by GC–MS or LC–MS/MS because there are cross reactive analytes. It all depends on WHAT methodology they are using and what EXPENSE they are willing to go through to detect this drug. If you end up dead or overdosed, you will probably get it now that heroin and oxycodone are being stepped on by Fentanyl. Dangerous game to be playing, the older you get, the more you use over a short time period, mixing etc, will probably result in an ER/morgue trip eventually. Know what you are taking. Know your limits. ## Do any panels test for fetanyl? and are the test that DO test for fetanyl expensive? I'm wondering if a state p...

I have a fentynal 100mg patch. I usually suck the gel out but this one is not gel its on sticky strip paper. so how do i get the medicine off now, suck on the paper? ## It's actually not safe to do so. Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, it is actually over 80 times stronger than Morphine and using it in such a manner does create the very real risk of overdose. Learn more: The 100mcgs is the highest dosage patch available, so it is very dangerous. Are there any other questions or comments? ## You chew on it sticky side out. chew on it all day same affect as gel. I like them better ## What me and my boyfriend do with our fentynal patches is {edited for safety} ## Yes, I do the same thing. Small amounts. I have a script but I'm looking for extra so I don't run out. ## Yes I am...

Hi, I'm hoping to get some help from someone. I get prescribed 50 mcg fentanyl patches and 30, 5mg/325 of Oxycodone monthly from my pain management doctor to help my pain. I try and get all my medicines filled in base, but sometimes I can't get to the pharmacy during there hours of operation. I've gone to like 7 different pharmacies, mostly cvs and can never get my pain meds from them. They tell me they don't have any. I get the patches, but up until recently have never dealt with this for the oxy. Can someone tell me an off base pharmacy that carries these prescriptions that keeps these meds in stock? You would be so very helpful.

My question is that I have titrated down from 75mcg to 50 and had some times that were NOT fun, I must say, but I figured that was going to happen. What is the problem and my Question to all of ur, is: Do u jave problems with ur heart rate, at all because of just titrating(going down or up on a medicine)???? IT is going crazy up and down..IT is anxiety..I know, well, I THINK, but I have just gone down one dosage and don't understand WHY it is still doing it after 20 days or do I just need more time..HOW LONG?? And how long will it take me to get this heart rate issue gone? Should I attempt to get it out faster? I know, that isn't much time when u write it down, but I can't get up or walk around because , my HR, gets up there and just resting it goes up and has gone up to 108....

For various reasons I suffer severe pain related to: Spinal Stenosis, herniated disc in cervical spine, previous broken tailbone. I have previously tried, Oxycontin, Hydrocodone, but now am on Fentanyl patch along with Neurontin. These only control about 50% of pain and have often "breakthrough" pain that is nearly unbearable. A friend recommended Methodone to add to these meds. Can anyone tell me if it would help? Also, would it be risky as far as overdosing? I have a really high tolorance to opiates. ## In most cases, Methadone wouldn't be advised, because it is very addictive and habit forming. In most cases for breakthrough pain, an instant release medication would be used, such as Oxy IR, which is available as a generic, or MS IR, which is an instant release morphine th...

I bought fentanyl / fentermina 30 mg in Mexico it's a small off white pill with letters apo on one side and a line down the other. Is this what it is supposed to look like? ## I got the same things yesterday. Did you find them to be real? Did they work? ## If you filled your prescription in Mexico I would recommend contacting the pharmacy there for any additional details pertaining to this medication. Perhaps they can at least provide you with manufacturer information as a means of verifying its legitimacy. Since countries outside of the US don't have the same rigorous evaluations and standards that the FDA requires, another option that may feel more secure is to have its contents analyzed by a lab or drug panel. Just going off the description alone it still seems like too much ...

I am 46 and hv been diagnosed with severe lumbar spinal stenosis, protruding disc, etc. I have taken aspirin, tylenol, t3, ibuprophen, tramodol, anti - depressants, muscle relaxers, and vicodin most recent along with the Fentanyl patch 25mg. This is the first time in my life I've had a significant relief of pain. The problem is that the pain is coming back after being on these 2 meds for about 3months. My doctor is hesitant about giving any other narcotics in addition to the patch. I'd like to know if anyone knows what other narcotic works well with the patch and how do I suggest this to my doctor without her being suspicious. ## It is normal for your body to get used to whatever dosage you are currently taking and for you to require a medication adjustment. I have been on it for several months but I can't say it is very helpful. Also I seem to have a lot of trouble with achy legs, but I donteantto increase the dose and get addicted. Anyone else having this problem? ## Hello, Tina! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Not every medication works for everyone that tries it, unfortunately, so this might not be the right choice to help you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. When I tried it, while on pain management years ago, it worked very well for me, but when a friend tried it from his doctor it did nothing for him, at all. What other medications have you...

Does anyone know if/when sandoz fentanyl patches will become available again? ## No, I'm sorry, I don't have any information on any current problems. Have you tried asking your pharmacy? They'd have access to the most current information on any availability problems, since they are alerted immediately by the FDA and the information we have is generally delayed, since this site does not manufacture, nor dispense any medications. This is a very potent narcotic analgesic and it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. ## I think it is gone I was on it and it worked great the only one left is Watson brand it works almost as good as the sandose and it has the gel in it the other ones do not work try them I think you will like them good luck ...

Good Morning, I need help with this situation. I also have deterioation of my spine.I was sent to a Pain specialist. I was put on the generic Percocet 10/325 for 2 years . I was then changed to Fentanyl 50 mg. and taken off of the Percocet completely. I started feeling dizzy, my blood pressure went up, I started shaking, I could continue to go on. I noticed when I take my zanax I felt better, but it keeps coming back. I believe I'm going through withdrawal from stopping the Percocet. I am really scared, and need to know if this is possible? and what will I need to do? I need help because I am really scared and do want this to stop. ## Hello, Marsha! How are you? Fentanyl is much stronger than the Oxycodone in the Percocet, so it isn't likely that you're experiencing withdraw...

Is fentanyl a good drug for a specific part of my body.? ## Hello, May! How are you? No, the Fentanyl patch is systemic, it will work throughout your entire body to relieve pain. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My son used Fentanyl patches for pain relief. Should I be concerned if the old patches were not taken off when the new patches were put on? It wasn't noticed for 12 hrs afterwards. ## Hello, Luke! How is your son? Has he shown any signs of possible overdose, which the U.S. FDA lists as possibly including vomiting, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, somnolence, lowered heart rate and shallow breathing? This is a very potent opiate, so there could still be a risk, even though the prior patch was mostly used up.

Ive been given the Fentanyl patch made by Aviva by my local pharmacy. Before this ive always gotten the Gel filled brand. The Aviva brand are causing side effects as you may have read in my previous post.I called my Pharmacy and told them about this and they said Every brand of Fentanyl patch is differant and this type is probably too strong an i may need to reduce the strength per my next doctor visit.I was curious if i could just cut these in half an see if it helps?Any replies would be appreciated. ## Yes, it seems there are some that are safe to cut, but you should never do so, without checking with your pharmacist, first. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drows...

Hi all, I was on 50mg patch and lots of tablets. I have Behçet's disease so the patch helps a lot. But I'm fed up being like I'm on another planet some days so I spoke to my doctor and he said to lower it to a 25mg patch. This is my 3rd day. The first couple days I was very sleepy but now my whole body is aching and I can't relax. My body keeps shaking, I can't sit still and it's now 2.30 am and I'm wide awake. Is there anything else I can do to help? Many thanks. ## Hello, Chris! How are you? That was a pretty big dosage change, so such withdrawal effects are normal, as listed by the U.S. FDA, you may also experience rebound pain, fever, chills and diarrhea. Has there been any change? A slower taper would likely be better. ## What other medications are ...
