Fentanyl Withdrawal Symptoms (Page 58) (Top voted first)

I'm trying to wean myself off the Fentanyl patch. I went from 75 micro-gms to 50 now I'm on 25. Having a problem and not sure it is related to the decrease in the med. It's been 20 days on the 25 micro-gm and I'm going crazy. I need to keep rocking, moving in any way b/c my body is very restless. Is this a symptom of withdrawal and what do I do? I cannot take it any more.

chelle,I know that my tolerance is high. I just can't grasp it mentally. My daughter is a multi-task tech on the 7th floor of the hospital that I use and has told me the same thing, time and time again. I just won't listen to her. I guess I will now. I have slept since yesterday afternoon and got some well deserved rest. But, I'm running a 101% temp also. So this has something to do with me sleeping so much....It started with a bad sore throat, probably strep, I use to have it all the time when I was a child. I started taking Kelflex, 1000mg, every 4 hours. Now it has turned into congestion and sweating. I'm thinking about the ER right about now and don't really want to go over there, but may have to just go....Angel, you are a very strong women and can do this. If it's what you believe in, then you will be ok. Just drink plenty of fluids and rest when you can. Have a good time while you work....How is everyone else doing??? Is everyone ok after Sandy?? Did everyone make it through the storm ok?? Well, my daughter is gone to get me a milk shake, very small, and hope it cools me off...hugs and kisses to all......have a good night everyone....

Chelle, I wish I could say I was shocked but if the pain gets to the point I can no longer take it I know for a fact, overdose will not be my way out either. Nuff said about that. NANNY? I hope you feel better! I really really do t want to be sick too right now. Again... Didnt you say you recently got injections??? It comes on slow, is mild for a while then gradually gets that Erie calm and you just stay in that almost peacful place for longer than I can remember. I'll tell you one benefit is you will be rocking your favorite bikini before all is said and done. Whoever said we would stand behind Angel is 1000% correct. ALL personal views aside, I back you in your persuit. I am impressed at how you keep yourself busy and keeping actuve in your beliefs when your body is kicking your tail every step if the way. Your stronger than I. I hope everyone and those I've missed are having a good weekend.

Nanny, i have a sore throat today too. The baby i take care of has been sick....guess i finally caught it. Today was miserable. My son had a Marching Band competition...it was 3hrs away, 43 degree weather, then it started raining. So we have been out in the wet, cold weather since 7am...just got home ...it's almost 10pm. Those poor kids out there performing in the rain, freezing to death...and us of course watching all 23 bands. My whole body hurts from being sick and from shivering all day. Then our Band Director announced to the kids she has to take a leave of absence....just got diagnoised with Breast CA. She has surgery on Tues. What a crappy Day.

I hope others have had a better day.

Angel, yes....I did. I have been sick with this ole crud that is going around. But I have some help getting to sleep now and I do get good sleep now. The doctor finally got of his throne and did something. It's just I have to have an epidural Tuesday afternoon and don't think I can go through this untill they give me my breakthrough meds. Has anyone gone through one of these and not had anything to take??? for pain that is??? Hugs and kisses...Angel, please get some rest. I am praying that you don't hurt yourself any futher and that rest will come upon you easy....love ya'll

Hope everyone is doing well haven't heard from anyone for a couple of days.

I saw my Doc on Tues...he started me on Flexeril for my leg. He said we would try that first, before the meds for restless leg syndrome...less side effects. I told him I wanted to try to start exercising and get back into shape...he wants me to start eating more protein to build myself up some first. He also gave me some meds for this crappy cold I have so I'm finally starting to feel a little better. Go back in 3 weeks to see how I'm doing.

Angel do you get to get some rest now that the campaign is over? I sure hope so.

Nanny you still fighting the crude? Musinex 1200 mg twice a day...works wonders, you can get it over the counter, can probably get generic even depending where you go.

WHAT IS GOING ON!

I come back eager to hear all the news from my friends who I have thought about day and night and......

NOTHING except wonderful Nanna for a WEEK!!

How are you all?
I am really worried sick now.
I can hardly breathe I am so sore from sitting on the hard chair in a room with NO HEAT!!
Totally, I made 3,675 phone calls to 5 swing states.

Here are my best stories:
1) this man from Turkey finally became a citizen two days before the election. I got him to vote his first time for Obama.
2) on Election Day, this gruff man answers. My job was to make sure he voted and then ask who for. He said, " Obama but I wish he were a better man. "
I replied back, " Well, I wish it wasn't a man at all but Hillary Rodham Clinton. "

We both laughed and wished each other well.

3) I was directed by the dialer on my computer that was hooked up to the Obama National Dashboard to start calling Colorado about 4 pm on Election Day. I was really getting silly from the wearies.

My second call, a woman who had already voted Obama was the callee. She just wanted to talk. She said, " I'm so nervous ... Here I am eating sugar free chocolate, just shoving it in....How can you stand this waiting!!!!"
I admitted to her that I was a vegan and had been off refined sugar for decades but ten minutes ago, I GAVE IN AND ATE A GOOEY DONUT. "

We both giggled like first grade girls for 3 minutes straight.

I met the most wonderful man, girls, I need advice!

I have been faithfully married for 26 years. I wish all of you could see what I look like. I am telling the truth when I say that men come on to me all the time. Maybe Nanna can tell you.

Anyway, I am flummoxed by my attraction to Spence who I only met and worked with on Election Day for 5 hours. Honestly, I felt my soul come out and touch his. He gave me his email address and would NOT TAKE MINE. he said the decision to connect had to be mine because I was married.

What do I do, what to do, what should I do?

I have everything ready for my beloved neice's baby shower this Saturday.

On the day of the Election or before, my two eldest sons wrote how proud they were of me on my Facebook wall.
82 of my friends "LIKED" it.
I got down on my knees to God and wept my gratitude.

Well I've done it now! I've given this crud to my husband. I woke up tonight to get ready for work and there he sat on the couch (he should have been at work). They had sent him home. He said the boss had come around and saw he wasn't feeling well and told him he could go home they had extra help tonight. I had an extra Z-pac at home so I told him to start taking it, hope it helps.

I am finally starting to feel a little better. My chest still feels like an elephant is sitting on it at times, but my throat is better and nose isn't runny anymore. So headed in the right direction.

Great stories Angel. If you are happily married, then no I would not contact the other guy....nothing good would come from that. If you are not happy in your marriage, then sure why not. Big decision to make.

Hi all just got my power back late last nite.. Our house just had down big 100 + year old trees all over backyard, garage, patio. No water in house so lucky.. I know people few locks away lost basements cars, my bedroom was down to 50 , my cat stood right next to me wherever I went. Had candles for light. Pioneer people did this all the time. My allergies are making me miserable. I tried laying on one side and the room started spinning. Non stop runny nose and sneezing.. Think now my ears are hurting.. Was trying to not get sick but with no heat, or power since first day of storm hard not too. I know many are effected by this storm, then we got a few inches of snow!, push down more trees cause the leaves have not all come off.. Not sure what is hurting me more my head, my back, throat feels somewhat hurting.. Oh well at least still breathing..

Mold is growing with all that water. You do not see it because it is between the walls. You need an anti-fungal OTC. I will call my pharmacy.

We all need to get flu shots this year. All of us have challenged immune systems. You can get them free usually at pharmacies or some clinics. With all these people in the NE being exposed to long term cold, they are going to be great incubators for any bug that comes along.
Lilred4, I would ask my doctor for a shot of gamma globulin. This bumps up your immune system and helps you fight anything you are exposed to.
Shannon, please forgive me for not calling. I will next week after this baby shower.

I am dragging my sorry self to a shower for Aras. What kind of a name is that for a boy, I ask you? Last time, 2 months ago, it was Alex. I liked that. Poor baby should just stay in that womb for a long time with a name like Aras. You know at school his name is going to be " air ass". Poor child. I don't say a word!
Off to comb this fire red head of hair and go pick up the food.

Angel, thanks for caring, I got our power back and today was on and off so far it's still on.. Oceanside, Long Island is really in bad shape . They still have no power and have no idea when there getting it.. Long beach Long Island also hit horrible.. The governor of New Jersey keeps getting lots of tv time. Yet Nassau county south shore was hit horrible with total devastation of a good portion of the town of Long Beach, they lost the beautiful boardwalk many many homes lost.. They did not even have fresh water and sewage was going into the plant. The electric company LIPA has done a awful job and definately was not prepared .. The weathermen on tv were telling us for many days before the storm to be prepared yet, these companies first waited to ask for assistance when almost 90 percent of the south shore of Long Island was without power for more than a week. It took my house over 6 hours for the heat to bring it to 65 which to me felt so warm with wearing so much clothes.. I am going to call a ear nose and throat dr to see what's going on with me , then going to a allergy dr. What I find interesting is since I stopped the fentanyl my allergies have gotten horrible.. For over 9 years I did not have them and now it's back worse than I ever remember. Today I am not sure my body is fighting a cold as I am more stuffed ,wheezing and it's been keeping me from sleeping.. I use to have asthma but when allergies got better so did my asthma.. Seems its all coming back ..I did not loose anything other than or food but we had lots of canned food to eat and did not starve. Tomorrow suppose to be warmer so hopefully will melt the snow which we did not need.. Was so heavy was bending all my shrubs so I was out trying to knock the heavy wet snow off them so we don't have to go thru more expenses to replace them. The tree men are making a fortune with this storm. Actually sinful for what they charge but,, have no choice if your not experienced to do it yourself..

Lil, I loved reading your very detailed post about Sandy. I am glad you are safe! Please don't hurt yourself further cleaning up after this devistation. Angel is 100% correct about the mold, it can be deadly! She's also right about being off this. We can't handle or do much. I just sleep? Sounds great right now! As for a charity? Sounds awsome! I can barely afford to feed my cat her high protine diet much less mine or I would help. I could only do the $10salvation army text. I just wish and know if everyone like me living off nothing while disabled gave $10. It would really add up! I'm 5'7 and went from 145 to 114 just from aug to now after my injections and illness. angle? Blood work and 3rd opinion only showed arthrosis, spinal stenosis , 5-6 mod para something, both sides budges and no curvature in spine, I hear that's bad, but not what had me on deaths bed. Blood work shoes no infection, excellent kidney, liver, blood, and just wAy to much to mention. So Doc says my meningitis or what ever WAS killing me I kicked per battery of tests and should stArt feeling better soon per results. i Will explain more when you call. Nanny I hope you are feeling better. I'm weaning down again. I believe I can manage with 1/2 now. Those epiderals kicked my tail. Hope all is doing well. AND no heavy lifting? We don't need more pain or injuries.
I pray I sleep tonight. I need a switch for my brain. Nothing works.

Angel, I am so glad you made it through with flying colors....if you know what I mean...lol...Girl you are one beautiful woman and if you are happly married, please don't jeopardize the happiness. But if your marriage is stale then a little fling might wake up your marriage. I take that back. This is something stupid I would do. But my marriage is all but happy. We have been happily married for 35 years, 28 years he has lived on the mountain and I have live down in town and we never see each other. Now that is a happy marriage....lol....Hey, everyone.....Angel is a beautiful, beautiful lady....beautiful is a very soft word for this, more like gorgeous.......Well, had my epi today and I'm numb from my waist down and all they gave me is oxy ir 5mg to take one every 12 hours. This won't even touch my pain. They said that the DEA said they were quit making the Oxycodone, which I don't believe. Does anyone know anything about this??????? Everyone else, I am still fighting this crud...today after I had the epi (they moved it to Friday) I got choked on the phlem that I have been coughing up and liked to choked to death. My daughter had to come to the bathroom and dig it out to get me to breathing again. I guess them putting me to sleep and laying still it collected down in my throat. But i thought I was going to die. She said I was already turning blue. Scared the bajesus out of her, so yes, I still have the crud and it is so bad that it feels like a ton of bricks sitting on my chest. Angel, if the 50mcg patches with 5mg ir, one every 12 hours is help, I will kiss someones butt....lol.... well I'm giddy on the stuff that they put me to sleep with so I am going to get off and go to sleep again, and again, and again.....love to all and may all have a good night. Oh, Lilred4, I wish there was something I could do to help you. you are welcome to come down south to Alabama till everything is fixed. That is about all I can do for you....hope everything works out for you....

Thank you all!! I am a animal lover and stayed in my house because of my pets. I have a cat which I brought in as a kitten . She never jumps on anything except my bed and a window seat in my dining room.. My house is 100 year old colonial so it's big yes , hard to heat, but it does have alot of character. I have 4 water turtles and that was why I stayed. We had to keep boiling water and moving them to sunny location during the day.. When you have them over 20 + years its not easy to just let them die. So yes I stayed and my kids thought we were crazy but, hey I wasn't leaving them. We did not get mold because no water in my house thankgoodness. Just trees down so I really can't complain not what I see all around me..As far as you Angel You alone know if you have a Good marriage or not. All because one is married for years does not make one.. I have friends who have been brave enough to take that leap and find happiness elsewhere. Some of us are just to chicken to do it or stay because of children , bills that have to be paid.. We all rationalize why we stay in our marriages. My advise once you take that leap of faith you have to live with it.. Be smart and make sure you think this clear.. Once you do this depending how jealous or smart your hubby is with PC, it can blow up in your face.. Once trust is lost it can be the end of a marriage. Remember your not all that well and do you think another guy would want to take on the responsibility. When your out in public sure you don't go around telling everyone how much pain your in..lol unless you do... I have a Masters degree in guidance and counseling, but sadly never got to use it cause timing was wrong had kids back to back 4 and hubby had a job with crazy hours . ( emergency services). Just think hard of what your doing and maybe just put the email in a self place . The older I get and talk to people I find not many people are really happy in their marriages, just except it, and learn how to deal..

Angel, I know it's hard not to put your two sense in,, my son and his wife had a baby boy three months ago yesterday and I need to get a big roll of masking tape for my mouth.. This child is a sweetie and of course every "nana" didn't want grandma name but, he's not sleeping in his crib all night yet. They have him in a swing.. Have told them bad for his back but they are not listening,, hopefully my worries will be for nothing.. I myself have scoliosis and so did his mom.. Hers was corrected thou she is not complaining her back hurts so they have her in pt.. Mine never was so that plus the fusion is just a constant pain. He's a big boy probably 15+ as he was born 9 lbs 2 ozs at birth and been in the 90 percent since birth. I try to hold him but after a few minutes my back starts to burn to much ..glad I didn't have the fusion before my kids or I would not have had 4 that's for sure..had 4 kids in 6 years lol you can all figure out how close they were. Two of each and all healthy were great babies and I was calm and organized. Didn't have any help like these kids of today do. People get exotic with names for kids, did you ask why the name ? I am just curious. He might be called a@@ from his close friends .. I find it always amazing that those that can't afford to give always do and yet the Movie Stars, they might do lip work but how many of them with all their loop holes really give very little.. They have more businesses to make more money to buy how many more homes. I didn't know you can live in more than one house on any given day yet they have many. That saying money goes to money is certainly the truth. They are more worried about the presidential ball and what designer clothes while so many are worrying when they can get back in their house or when heat going to be turned on.. My friend from Breezy Point queens said he got lucky "only has water in basement no heat, staying with a friend in Brooklyn, New York until FEMA goes to his house. More than 80 homes burnt during the storm as the water and electric in Breezy Point started fires and homes so close just spread. I was glad I finally got thru to him other day, hopefully he took his cat with him as I gave him it when it was a kitten. Sorry for writing so much as you guys are probably the most I talk to about this. Everyone has their own problems and don't want to discuss it with others at this time.. Just want to again Thank all for caring even with just these words. My own cousins except for one called to see how we were doing.. Have learned over the years to do it on our own makes you stronger I think

Lil....so glad you made it though Sandy alive. Sorry about your Trees and all the damage. i know you hate to see your trees go...my grandma lost and old tree yrs ago we hated it. Hate the fact that it is taking so long to get electric back on and supplies to everyone, wish there was something more i could do. i remember our ice storm a few yrs back, seems like it took forever to get power back on. We sent the kids to thier Dad's because he had power, but we stayed because of our animals. It was so cold....our house was done in the 30's.

Nana....get you some Musinex 1200mg...twice a day .....it will break up that crude in your chest. You can buy it over the counter, they have a generic too i think. It's what my doc put me on...has cleared me right up.

Chelle thanks for the caring along with everyone else. It amazes me that it took this hurricane to take off a giant limb on this tree. Being so full of leaves did the damage. Coming down it knocked into another tree causing that to fall also.. Neither tree was rotted or then I wouldn't feel as bad, I always have our trees inspected and dead branches removed. The tree man has to come back to even out the branch that broke since his equipment was not big enough to go around the tree . Hope he does as he got paid in full already. The electric still has been going on and off for moments at a time. There were a tremendous group of people talking to the media about how terrible the upper management has been in this storm that hit a good portion of manhattan most of Long Island , Nassau county, Suffolk , it is another Katrina all over again. Only difference is the people are going to all different shelters thru out the city and island.. This weekend the Red Cross and FEMA were going thru areas to give those that lost homes many many, cars floated away, people had fish on their lawns, basements. So I am grateful it was trees, my patio, sprinklers which now have to be repaired by digging up the lawn to fix the breaks . Mother Nature does not seem to be happy with anyone these days.Hope you all had a better two weeks than myself.

Shannon, I am so exhausted. I can not stay awake today. Forgive me for not calling. It will be soon. How can you recover from meningitis yourself without some strong antibiotics? You have lost way too much weight!!! There is an organic protein I use that is made in Bakersfield, CA. So you should be able to find it. It's called "Bolthouse Farms". You need this base protein for your muscle tissue left and to build more. You might want to drink a can of "Ensure" every day also.
Lilred4 I just pray daily for the people touched and ensnared by Sandy. Reading accounts in the paper make it news. When you tell us, it becomes our neighbors, our pets or our house. I can even feel the cold!
There must be something we can do for you. Please, talk as much as you need to us. You can call me or give me your phone number.
Going through such a trauma is very unsettling. It makes us think of lots of bigger issues.
