UpdatedIf you are on fenofibrate, do you have to be on it all your life?

Not necessarily!
Some people do manage to lower their cholesterol levels successfully and keep them low, via healthy diet and exercise, so they are then able to stop such medications. It can vary from person to person and may include such factors as how high their cholesterol has gone.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thanks for the info. My Doctor told me that I would have to be on it for life even if my levels dropped.
