i started using femilon for last 20 days due to my irregular periods and PCOS problem. (i have one son 5 years old), so doctor prescribed me femilon for 2 months to make my periods normal. but from the day one, am having more emotional problems, i become more anger, easily depressed but very active when compared to pre-tablet days...am getting good sleep from 9:30 pm but wake up sharp at 4am itself, which is a very new type of biological clock after femilon please help me if i can continue with this tablet?

Hey, wanna share something.even i had same problem and doctor had prescribed me femilon for 6 months.So I had it for 6 months after dat i noticed that i am nt geting sevear pain which i use to get before like hell.but the bad side effect is dat i have gain g lot of wieght after dat.now 1 thing is troubling me a lot is dat in future after marriage is thise going to create any problem in pregnency ,plz reply i vl appreciate it.thanks.

I had taken femilon for last 2 months and i started my periods last month on 23 November and this month i m not my having my periods. Its almost above 1week. Is this because of eating femilon? Or there is any another problem?

Hi,
I am taking Femilon from last 5 days. I am diagnosed with ovarian cyst. So doctor prescribed me this medicine. Now I am feeling very sick. Nausea, fatigue. Kindly help me out.

Am taking femilon for last 9 months for my pcod prblm and as a contraceptic pill.now evrytg s fine(PCOD). Bt my doctor saying that I will have to continue the medicine till 2 months before I want pregnancy. And we are planning for a baby after 3 years only. So is it good to take the tablets for such a long time ??

Hi Doctor,

I have started using BCP(Femilon) from last month only . I have stopped it on 21st Day of my last period . On 5th day of break i have observed very little spotting but not much blood has been flown . After that nothing happens . I am about to start 2nd phase of medicine on 8th day as my doctor prescribed .I am not sure whether my period will happen as with the pills on , it seems period won't start .

Please let me know what should i do , or is it normal . Another thing , most of the times less blood flow happens for me during period . And i doubt if the medicine has bad effect on this .

Hi, Surpad!

These are hormonal based contraceptives and since one of the hormones in them is a form of estrogen, it can cause those types of issues as side effects.

You may also experience breakthrough bleeding, headaches, weight gain and fluid retention.

As to whether or not you should continue taking it, that is something you should discuss with your doctor. They are most familiar with your medical history and menstrual difficulties.

I am taking one pill of femilon every nyt before sleeping... for 21 days due to irregular period days...m having side effects like I cry everynyt without reason...extra anger...I get irretated in seconds... nd one more thing....ghabarat hoti hai .... to an extent ....I feel like loss of air nd ghutan in tight places or crowded place.... what should I do ??

Yes this is a normal side effect of taking this contraceptive pill. There is one immediate side effect that you will feel abnormal bleeding and breast will get more inflamated

Hi, I used Femilon for 1 month after stopping it, I got heavy periods which lasted for 11 days, then again after 2 days I started my cycle, stopped bleeding, and on the 3rd day I got my period again. Please let me know if it's normal.

should not take femilon on first day. And also don't take it to stop stomach pain

I'm 28 years old and my menstrual cycle has become irregular for last 1&1/2 year. My body weight has been gain from about 12kg for this period.this time my periods is going from 3 weeks. Bleeding was not settled. My doctor diagnosed it as pcos and advised o get femilon for 3 months. So now i'm afraid to start it due to weight gain and also about subfertility. Is it a cause for subfertility?
