I have been testing positive for benzos and i cant figure out why. I have been taking suboxone & Ondansetron & promethazine. Thats it. If i fail another drug test, then my doctor is gonna kick me out. If anybody knows of any common substances, prescription or over the counter medications please inform me. Thanks

I went to the doctor and had a drug test done, and it showed up positive for benzos! And the ONLY thing i have taken is my suboxone & store bought equate brand tylonol! I am really freaking out over this! Which they told me that the lab test is really what counts, which i have not recieved back yet! But im just really nervous about it showing up too with a false positive! They told me sometimes that them office tests sometimes do that! But i am really innocent this time, i have NOT touched any benzos what so ever! What could have caused this??? Please help!!

The same thing happened to me.. apparently valium (unlike xanax) can stay in your system for a period of 6 weeks! Possibly longer depending on the amount taken and if taken over a period of time.

No not yet! My doctors office either wasn't in today, or they left early! But i really need to know cause i can get this behind me! it really scares me too cause i get tested for the social workers too, and i really have not taken anything (benzo) so idk how this could have happened! I just want to see what the lab test showed, and if it shows up the same thing, i'm going to request for blood work!!!

I attend a methadone clinic and in a year have failed NO DRUG SCREENS except ONE!! Which was about 6 months into my treatmeng and i failed for AMPHETAMINE ( sorry for spelling if wrong but i didnt even know what it was yet alone how to spell it) well my counselor the nurses all treated me horribly like i was trash a liar etc and i kept denying the use of any other then methadone!! I even asked my counselor what amphetamine was because i didnt know i think she thought i was just playing!! I requested a confirmation and they had it retested and i came home sooooo upset bc i was innocent!!! Well i had been taking CLARITIN-D (spelling) due to bad allergies and sinus infections i had beeen experiencing!! Come to find out when my confirmation came back it was a false positive and psuediphedrine(spelling sorry) had made me fail!!! So avoid claritin-D or ANY MEDICIATIONS WITH PSUEDIPHEDRINE!!! Also to avoid false positives review all ingrediants on all meds u take OTC or prescribed and if you do take something OTC inform your DR counselor nurse whatever so atleast theres some sort of warning!! Since then all i take is claritin no claritin D and i meticulously check anything i take!!! Good luck everyone

Its the Seroquel? How do you know this? Just worried because planning on applying to go back to treatment and if the Seroquel really is having a false positive than if I go back again the same thing will happen which freaks me out. The only other thing I can think of doing is trying to convince my doctor to prescribe me benzos so that if it shows up in my system its ok. Talk to doctor on Monday. If you have any evidence like an article or something that Seroquel brings up a false positive let me know so I can use it as evidence because if I go back to treatment and get kicked out again for a false positive I don't know what I will do.

I got kicked out of treatment for benzos and was absolutly not taking anything other then seroquel liciniprol htzt paxil and zocor my doctor said that it was the seroquel and im no longer takin it and im clean now the only things i was able to find on the internet was that it did for alot of people

Anything p.m any medication that is used for sleep will show up. Benedryl will show up also. Pretty much anything that is a antihistamine will give you a false positive also. Some cough medicine will too.

Flexeril. All muscle relaxers will show up as benzos. Serqual will give a false for benzos as well. Methadone will not give you a false positive for oxycodone. Methadone will only show as methadone. Maybe the neuroton is giving you the positives for oxycodone

Seroquel is causing the problem. It's the same as a benzo. Stop taking it and the positives for benzos will go away

Anything for night time causes false benzos. Most sinus otc mess cause a false positive as well

I agree,I am in the same predicament,I am 9 months clean,the only thing I am on is suboxone,this is the first time in my life i have actually stopped using drugs,and for some reason benzo's came up in a sent out drug test,I'm in felony drug court and probation, they do not mess around,could it be certain foods??im at such a loss!

I dont know of any foods to cause false positive but do know it was seroquel in my situation stopped taking it and been clean sense the 13th

The letter stated i WAS being released, due to a failed urine drug test. I immediately went to the office to question this. I was Never so embarrassed!! & humiliated in my entire life. My doctor whom I've know for at least 11 yrs. & concider a true friend,He was so rude & dismissive, He told me I had him fooled for so many yrs. & how dissapointed he was in me. I still didn't know why, after he was done degrading me, he said my recent urine screen came back POS. for Suboxone!!! I didn't even know what that was.I told him that wasn't true & to redo the test, he refused, saying he uses the best labs & they don't make mistakes. I asked if there was anything I was taking that could cause this, He said absolutely NOT. He told me to leave & he never wanted to see me again. Can anybody help me understand this? PLEASE!!!!

Just wanted to say, shame on your Dr for treating you so ignorantly. You're on prescribed opiates and suboxone (bupenorphrine/naloxone) is the same class of drugs, so for your MD to refuse to follow up a false positive with a requested retest is borderline malpractice IMHO. I'm sorry you lost an eleven-year professional friendship over thus but honestly, you're better off being treated by someone who will put a little faith and trust in you after all that time.

im on a suboxone program and today i tested positive positive for benzo's, i never did that in over a year, what do you think can make me fail this test, i took benadryl and over the counter sleep aid's like advil pm could this be it? i really need help , they just might kick me off the program and i need them to know i never did this!!! anyone can help ???
