False Positive For Benzo With Seroquel (Top voted first)

I am in rehab at the moment and have tested 3 times for benzos but im only on Seroquel, Lyrica and Methadone. I have heard that Seroquel can test positive for benzos and need to know if this is true. Im going to lose my son if I dont get this cleared up and I HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY BENZOS!!

I have been going to a suboxone doctor for three weeks now and up until last week he wouldnt prescribe me suboxone because I was testing positive for benzo's. I DONT take benzos and kept throwing a fit about it. I DO take Seroquel 300mg XR though. I finally made him call a toxicologist and she told him that in certain drug test cups it DOES make you test positive for benzo's. He prescribed me suboxone based on the toxicologist's report. So YES Seroquel CAN and WILL make you test false positive for benzo's. I know this for CERTAIN because I was testing that way from taking seroquel ONLY. Hope this helps you out. I would have your doctor contact a toxicologist so he can have the report also.

I had a urine test last week and it came back saying I had marijuana in my system which I do not do. I am on 800mg of Seroquel. Can this cause this false result?

My brother was just tested to enter a treatment facility and tested positive for opiates and pcp...he says he only took one seroquil and some tylenol pm...could this combination produce positive results for opiates and pcp??? if anyone knows, please reply...

Someone gave me a bunch of white oval shaped pills, with 20 OXY on them and told they are oxys. I've looked everywhere online and can't find them on any pill ID site. Does anyone know if these are real or fake?

Hey,I was in rehab for benzo's and although I was not taking any benzo AT ALL I kept failing the piss test.I also take seroquel and saw your comment on it causing a false possitive.You said you were shure,how are you sure?.please respond.

I have been going to my suboxone doctor also for three weeks and i take seroquel my test have been positive for benzos and i dont take them never liked them he has gave me two weeks to get my system clean i cant take seroquel or my cymbalta untill i show him why i keep showing benzos in my system i was so upset because i know i havent taken any benzos and i had a drug test show up benzos for 3 weeks are you for sure its seroquel i am not taken it for the next 2 weeks so i will find out when i go back why i did show benzos

I have looked up information on this, as well as a listing of what drugs can cause false positives and no, there is no scientific proof, anywhere, that Seroquel can give a false positive for Benzodiazepines.

I have also double checked the Lyrica and Methadone and neither of those will do it, either.

I'm sorry, have you tried asking them more specifics about the test?

Do you know what type of test they are doing?

Have you taken anything else? Please post back and let me know, even if it was just something available over the counter.

Tyler! I too take Seroquel and tested positive for benzodiazepines. You said that it had been confirmed as a false negative. Is this because they specifically tested your urine to rule it out? Who are you talking about when you say "they" the people who helped rule your urine drug test out personally?

There are a few factors that play a role in how long opiates take to get out of your system, how much, how often, metabolism, etc. The minimum amount of time it can take is 24 hours, and the maximum amount of time it takes for opiates to leave your system (and result in a NEGATIVE drug test) is 3 days. This is for a standard urine test.

I attend a clinic through the VA and have tested positive for Benzos due to Quetiapine ( and it has been confirmed that they are false positives. Look into it more and you should be able to clear this up.

I get drug tested every month for formal probation and am prescribed seroquel. I took seroquel last night and just drug tested myself and didn't come up positive for anything on the 12 panel drug test. Just a heads up! I used to be addicted to xanax

I have been clean for like 4 months and on methadone. Last week I slipped and did 4 80s in 4 days. How long will it take to get out of my system? I'm asking cuz I have a test next Monday ( today is Monday) and need to pass it. I used last Thursday. Does anyone know when I should go back to testing clean if I'm not using anymore? Pls help ASAP!

try googling the pill imprint and description. there are many results that may help you with identifiying your medications so that match what your pharmacists list on your medication bottle. i once had a medication filled and the bottle stated that the pills had certain specific markings on them and that they were a certain color...the pills in the bottle were of another color, shape, and had different markings on them that what the bottle specified they should be. i went online and looked information on what markings should identify certain pills, and that was very informative. good luck!
