False Positive On Drug Test For Cocaine (Page 5)

I took a hair follicle test and it came up positive for cocaine. I have never used drugs in my life. I have a kidney infection and I have been having trouble with my kidney all my life on and off. I was taking Ampicillin 500mg and Metronidazole 500 mg and Eugenol. I am going to court concerning my kids and I can't lose them for drugs when I never took them before. Please help me. Thank you.

A small amount of cocaine showed up in my urine test and I took oxycodone 2x a day for 5 years.

Hello,

My brother recently failed a urine test for cocaine and gave a reading for benzoylecgonine of 930, is this high? He's devastated because he denies ever using the drug and he's been suspended from work.

He's been taking prescribed Dihydrocodeine and Valium because he's awaiting a knee replacement. Could these medicines give a false positive for cocaine?

I have been with the same pain management doctor for 7 yrs and last week my drug screen came back positive for cocaine. I have NEVER used that drug so I am really really curious as to why? I am 44 and I have taken amoxicillin and a topical spray which contains benzocaine, and I am also diabetic. Could either of the 3 be the reason for a positive cocaine result?

I wanted to share my story with everyone. Since 2002 I work in a career field that requires random drug testing. In 2004 due to nearly 40 lb weight gain I was placed on Diovan for blood pressure. A few months later the doctor changed it to Lisinopril because of frequent urination on Diovan. Within 11 months my hair came out - at that time I had no idea what was causing it. 2006 I discovered it was the medication. I want my hair to grow back longer so my sister discovered MTG which stands for Mane tail groom. It was on a black hair discussion board. The major complaints of the product was its smell. It grows hair super fast, almost overnight. At that time on their website is stated it's good for humans although is marketed for horses. So I started using it early in 2006. I don't like taking vitamins so I always preferred MTG. I dealt with the smell but I still love its growth. In 2012 I got hired by a company that required a hair and urine drug test a few days later I got a call from the company they advised me that my urine was negative but my hair was positive for cocaine. I've never done drugs a day in my life, like I said I've been drug testing since 2002. It's the career I chose and I would never do anything to jeopardize it. At that time I simply labeled it as they got me mistaken with someone else, no possible way. Fast forward May 2017 I decided out of curiosity to see if that was true from 5 yrs ago. I paid $70 for a follicle test..it said positive for cocaine - I was blown away. I saved up money and went to a different lab in aug. Once again it said cocaine. It showed how much. On sept 16th I got my toe nails tested because it goes back a year. A few days later my nail results came back as negative. My last result is to test mtg to see why it's causing a false positive in my hair. I've searched all over the internet. I believe im the only person to ever take a follicle test while using it on my hair so I got proof on my test. This goes out to all the people that are so quick to comment - IF COCAINE'S IN YOUR HAIR FOLLICLE YOU'VE BEEN EXPOSED. I have some proof that's not true. Please be careful of what hair products you're using...you truly don't know what's in it.

I’ve never done drugs in my life either and I tested positive for cocaine. The company is called Psychemedics. They have a history of false positives so I went to a different drug testing company and they found nothing. Unfortunately the employer only used Psychemedics and retracted the job offer. Psychemedics is extremely shady! Beware! I tried talking to a lawyer but the cost of hiring experts would’ve been too expensive for the case.

I took one 5/325 Percocet and Tylenol and one 500mg Ibuprofen. Can that make me have a false positive for cocaine?

I tested positive for cocaine, but don't do the stuff. Waiting for a second sample to be tested so I'm not sure yet what the result is. I have a stage 2 kidney problem and take ADHD meds. What can cause a false positive?

I tested positive for a cocaine metabolite. I worked in the company for 27 years and I don’t use drugs of any type. But the cause of the positive results could be a Peruvian Té Mate of Coca. Now I am going thru the headaches of being unemployed and can’t believe what happened.

I was tested for cocaine and I don't do drugs at all. I don't like to take the pain medication they give me but my urine test came back positive for cocaine. The minocycline drug makes you test positive for it.
