False Positive Hair Follicle Test For Cocaine

I have not and do not do or use cocaine but recently had bloodwork done that shows signs of me being diabetic.. very high glucose levels and I take prozac and hydrocodone 10/650. I also have asthma and use ventolin hfa. Can any of these affect the test? Please help, I am losing my daughter due to this hair follicle test and no one will help me.

My boyfriend recently had a hair follicle drug test done thru Melton Trucking Co. His test came back positive for cocaine although he's never done it or has even seen it. What can cause a false positive like this? He does take medication for high blood pressure and is a diabetic.

There is nothing in your medications that will pose an obvious issue for a hair test. If your oxy is prescribed and within accepted levels in your blood and not higher than they should be for your prescription, and you can def rule out ALL illicit substance use with certainty, no possible accidental exposure or tiny slip up, and you don’t test positive for any legal but restricted/scheduled drugs that shouldn’t be present in your blood in any concentration without adequate explanation, and depending on the retrospective period they can cover in the length of your hair sample. Only you can truly know your own environmental substance exposure, and if you have not taken anything illicit, restricted, specifically prohibited in your particular case, not prescribed for you or not present within expected concentrations (you’re not abusing/misusing any harmful substance) then you will be just fine. Blood sugar will not measurably impact on the integrity of your results, and as long as the pathology people are fully accredited and reputable with reliable, valid, acceptable rates of accuracy that will stand up in Any courtroom, then you can be very confident that nothing out of the ordinary will randomly occur out of nowhere to screw you up. Always ask for copies of all paperwork, ask questions if you have any doubts, be completely satisfied that the system has ensured the highest integrity and accountability for your biological sample analysis, especially if any unexpected or unusual, findings result in serious negative repercussions for your future. Ask ask ask until you are 100% comfortable with every aspect of the testing process. But don’t stress yourself unnecessarily over the minute error stats and improbably small or truly random drug interactions and urban myths about the causes of false positives, they are incredibly rare in reality and can almost always be sarisfactorily accounted for By the patient’s honest and complete medical history and accurate pharmacological exposure . There is a massive standard database of all widely known, potential, improbable but possible, and even hypothetical substance interactions, that have ever been reliably observed, recorded, and verified, and whenever one of these occur it automatically triggers ever greater levels of testing sensitivity. until the results are definitive either way
