False Positive For Methamphetamine On Drug Test (Page 3) (Top voted first)

I took a urine drug test for my job and they said it came back positive for methamphetamine, but I dont use methamphetamine. I've just been real sick the whole week before and took a lot of diff. meds to break da fevers and my bad cough. What could have caused it to come up positive?

I just tested positive for methamphetamine but do not use illicit drugs. I drive a truck so im out of work. I use a vicks inhaler u get over the counter. Will this cause a false positive fot methamphetamine? Thanks

I WAS TOLD BY ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT MEDICAL DOCTORS THAT VICKS SALVE WHICH I UNDERSTAND THAT IS VICKS VAPOR RUB OR WHAT EVER THE BOTTLE SAYS BUT ANYWAY... TWO DOC'S SAY THIS CAN CAUSE A POSITIVE METHAMPHETAMINE DRUG SCREEN.

You need to get an attorney. You legally have the right to obtain a copy of your findings AND the absolutely cannot refuse you. It's weird you tested positive for THC but not for opiates. Hugs. I'm sorry you're dealing with this BS. I know attorney are expensive but it's your reputation and career. You also have the right to a retest with detailed finding (the gaschromatograph) because the testing company is required by law to keep them for x amount of time, typically 6 months for urine. Not sure what hair is. I'm not sure, but part of me also wants to say they are violating HIPAA by refusing to release your records to you because technically it is a medical record. Call your local employment services. They should give you the correct number to contact to file a formal complaint against your employer for what they are doing. It's going to be exhausting but keep fighting. You will win this. You may even be able to get an attorney for free or at an affordable amount. You may have to play phone tag a thousand times to get the right people but eventually you will get there. Even in a right to work state, what they are doing is illegal in many ways. File for unemployment. Write everything you were told, who you talked to, and what happened on your ap in the area. Details will be your friend. You may have to appeal, but again, even in a right to work state, they will say you did not intentionally do anything to get fired. Keep appealing if you have to but at the most it should only take you taking with the caseworker. I wish I could give you my contact info in case you need more help.

Can hepatitis C or liver/kidney disease give a false positive for methamphetamine on a urine drug test? I have not taken methamphetamine for a while and I just had a urine drug test come up positive with a faint line for methamphetamine. The only other prescriptions I take are Sertraline and Xanax. So could my hepatitis C have something to do with that?

I have type 2 diabetes and I take glipizide 10mg 2 times a day with metformin 1000mg 2 times a day. I'm in drug and alcohol treatment and get urine tested. Since I started taking my diabetes medication, my u/a's are coming up positive for methamphetamine.

I know two things for sure that cause false positives. One is Aleve d cold and sinus and the other one is the Walgreens brand called Wal-Phed. It's for cold and sinus. Those two I'm positive can cause you to pop positive for methamphetamine cause they have Sudafed in them. They have to be bought behind the counter with an ID now. There's another one I was told would cause you to pop positive for methamphetamine my friend said so I'm not sure, it's Claritin-D. My friend swears it'll cause a false positive and there only two choices, either she was lying and doing methamphetamine which is hard to believe as she's just not the type, or it really does cause false positives for methamphetamine, cause someone called social services on me several years ago and I knew couldn't pass. I had took my husband's pain medicine as mine wasn't helping. It was on the weekend I broke my toe, so she happened to be there. I went and the worker pulled in. I automatically figured I'd be trouble so I told her if anything comes up can you see for me. She agreed, went, test came back and I tested positive for methamphetamine but hadn't done no methamphetamine, just took a pain pill, and hadn't had nothing that could cause me to get a false positive. The reason I say me, is that I panicked when the worker started knocking on the bathroom door. My friend had already pee'd earlier. This is it for me. I couldn't find it right off so thought I was screw. I tried to pee but I barely could, then found where she hid it, dumped mine out if any was left, wasn't but a drip. The worker ran it and said I was positive for methamphetamine and two pain medications. I demanded her to take me to the hospital to be tested. That's not right. I admitted to pain medication, one prescribed to me and the other I swiped when my husband wasn't looking. She ended up letting the methamphetamine accusations go. My friend later on says I had pain medication in me, forgot to tell you and clairtin d, so either she's one heck of an actress and had methamphetamine in her or clairtin d caused it. I'm sorry for such a long answer but wanted explain why I'm not sure about clairtin d. Hope this helps.

Last tuesday my husband to a drug text for court hes trying to get somthing off his record well he takes tabs for a messed up back but hasnt been to the dr for a week before he had his test he didnt take anything but aleve and some cold meds not even sure the name of the cold meds we had a house full of sick people so everyone was taking whatever was here andway he tested postive for meth and he hasnt taken a methadone in over 6 moths r there any cold meds i neeed to keep him from taking because hes sick again and has to do another test they said if it comes back postive he will go to jail please help

I took a ua for my union and it came back positive for meth, I am an ex user and know I haven't been using for years. The union is sending the ua away for further analysis I don't know but was told that street drugs show up as street. Drugs and although false positives can occur the real thing will come out in the wash?

What could make you test for a false positive in a spinal tap? I did not take anything but my prenatal my doctor wanted to tell me im a lier i did use n none of there medications could make me test a false positive that it would of been 18 36 hours prior is when i used and i dis nothing unusual i stayed home and also the baby failed for meth as well. I had them send mine to the lab but they used the same pee not new n didnt seal it cuz its not there protocole n i dont do that crap at all. Plz help me my daughter is in foster care until they get test back from lab in a week or ten days

My son is 14 yrs old he was admitted to the hospital where I was later told he tested positive for meth. He's been taking Tylenol cold. Could this be the reason?

hmm, trazadone, interesting. I posted last year, about false postive, i was on adderall. i think i was still taking trazadone at the time. (and effexor). I think the point is, don't listen to who tells you what should and should not give you a false positive.

I heard that heroin transforms into morphine as it enters the blood stream, this could be why. It also depends on the type of drug test, some tests are have more detailed categories, to test for very specific substances. You may have had a genral test which of course cost less. Do you work for the type of company that would pick the cheapest drug test?

i had positive ua for meth at the clinic i take pain meds and now i am refussed treatment what can i do. i do not take meth or want anything to do with it!!!!

Darling you need to get your husband to a naturopathic doctor ASAP that can diagnose him correctly and fix the underlying cause of these disease symptoms before it becomes an immune system disorder. His body is screaming out for attention.

Just a question... for you that tested positive for meth but had never taken it, how high was your result (in pg/mg.. or whatever unit on the test?). I am just curious.. does it show up in the same concentration as it would for a meth user? Thanks!
