Extreme Fatique, Joint Pain, Muscle Weakness With Eliquis For Afib (Page 3)

I was having extreme fatigue, joint pain, muscle weakness after starting Eliquis and started to having black stool with nausea and abdominal pain. I gradually reduced the dose until no longer taking Eliquis nor ever will. It really put a fear in me. Asprin works for me via my AFIB. I can tell if my blood is too thick when my heart is working hard to pump the blood out of my heart. I feel much better when my heart is pumping normally when the blood is thinner. You sometimes have to insist to your doctor the side effects you are feeling, this is a fairly new medication. Anyone else have these side effects?

Eliquise 5 mg for 3 months has made me a tired ,emotional ,red swollen eyes,small purple spots where hair on legs grow.tremendous chocking ,gum bleeds , puffiness under eyes and sneezing makes my face bright red and then smothering. Xeralto was more bleeding
.My cardiologist told me to bleed to death or stroke ,great choices . Going to take aspirin for A find. Never use Eliquist again.

I have been taking Eliquis for 7 months. Recently I started having severe swelling & pain in both wrists and my neck.

that is another thing i have noticed?? all he wants to do is sleep??? he's sleeping right now, and it's not 2pm yet???? then wants to go to bed at 7??? this is ridiculous....and to me, this med has ruined everything

How did your doctor take you off Eliquis? Was it a gradual reduction, or cold turkey?

Since taking elequis my legs are extremely weak. My arms cannot support me if I try to hang ftom them. The muscles on my arms have atrophied. My skin hangs from the bones. No muscle tone at all. Its awful.

Hi,
I am looking for other women on Eloquis who are young - I'm 26 - i had PE from birth control pills and they have me on Eloquis - I really want to be off of it. What has your experience been? Do you have a clotting issue or was your strictly caused by the birth control?

Absolutely all of them. Calling cardiologist today to see what answers I will be given. All of my issues began after month 2 on Eliquis.

Most of the above comments on Eliquis are from people who were taking the drug back in 2014, 2015 and early 2016 - hope this can be updated to 2017. I would like to get feedback on how people experienced the drug Metoprolol? Also taking Metoprolol in conjunction with Eliquis? I have not taken these two drugs the cardiologist ordered for me last September - still looking for info.

I have been on Eliquis for approx 8 mos d/t saddle embolus and 3 clots in my leg post surgery. After 2 mos, I started having all the symptoms,muscle and joint pain, very fatigued! I am ready for aspirin or Coumadin.

Muscle weakness.Tremors. Fatigue. Taking stations. Was told I. I could not take anything pain except Hydrocondone or tylenol
Also is a. INR RECOMMENDED?

Hi, has anyone on Eliquis also received a pacemaker and later on felt an increase in tremors, loss of balance, joint aches and pains?

I suffered afib and was told that Eliquis was the best thing to take....and was told it had the same benefits of aspirin. So i thought why not just take aspirin? I am going to err on the side of safety and take a reduced dose of aspirin...81mg. I have never been one to take pain pills... just aspirin. peace of mind is healthy. I am 73 and no HBP OR CHOLESTEROL... Carry a little extra weight....but will increase more veggies and fruit.

Since I started eliquis I am tired,stiff,can barely walk etc.this after 2months, guess I will try xertrol.

I've been on apixaban for 3 months after a dvt in my left leg post trivial osteotomy operation. I have had really bad neck and shoulder pain since taking it and also feel tired a lot more but the pain wakes me up. I'm a 46 year old. I have a review next week and really hoping to come off this drug.

Oh dear...me too. Also have fibro and severe depression. And neuropathy from chemo. But i have NO energy....and if see a bed, Im in it !! For a so called nap that makes me worse when u wake up.

What a journey this past seven months has taken me on. All the insightful messaging from so many warning of this blood thinner. I finally decided not to take the drug Eliquis and that the few positive messages especially ones that say only the naysayers bother to complain - now how do they explain away the legal suits as of April 2017 that are now in process against the drug company that produces Eliquis - that convinced me completely of the danger - I'm taking my chances elsewhere - aspirin, natural blood thinners and supplements.

I am a 74 year old male who had 5 way heart bypass 6 years ago and while walking became short of breathe rested and had be a very lucky man I called my heart Doctor and he said not heart PE he was so right a massive PE in the right side main artery of my lung. The gave me Lovenox 4 shots and started me on Eliquis. That was 9 weeks ago. taking 2 5mg a day having some side effects sore legs tired sometimes. I watched my wife stroke out on warfarin because it was never regulated very hard to do either to little or to much. I would rather gut it out than take it. I am also taking Vicodin as needed so if I get pain I can take some. I suggest for you to ask for some so when the pains come a small 7.5 will do the trick . I have beaten the grim reaper 3 times I listen to my Doctors and so far so good I have a lung specialist I think it is best to have more than a primary.If the pain is just annoying I take a advil gelcap 500mg and works as well. Please try to beat the panic I did that night or I would not be here I kept calm and slowed my heart enough and the rest is good so far. I pray for all this life is tough but remember years ago people had NO chance. Frankie J

See my posts regarding Eliquis. Looks to me like you have to go back to Coumadin in the event you must continue on blood "thinners". I got my life back when I switched.
