Estratest User 11 Years - I Miss It, Need It. Is It Available Outside The Us? (Top voted first)
UpdatedEstratest is the only hormone that fit me perfectly for weight, attitude, libido, energy, youth.
I have been miserable without it. Can't find anything, not even bio's that take it's place.
Can we get it in another country - Mexico? Canada?
Everything has changed with me since I quit taking it because it's not available in the US.
My life has not been the same without Estratest. I'm 66 and took Estratest for over 10 years with NO negative side effects. Estratest tightened my bladder muscles, supplied vaginal lubrication, stopped hot flashes and night sweats, kept my mood smooth and happy....plus wonderful multiple orgasms. Now I have to use those "pee pads" every day, battle hot flashes and night sweats, use lubrication for sex, have "bad moods" at strange times and orgasms are much harder to achieve. WHY would they take a product off the market that provides so many women across the nation with a better life? I would gladly fly to another country if I could get the REAL Estratest.
I have the exact complications being OFF estratest. I am 64 years old and have taken this drug for 14 years with no problems. I found out when I went to the Mayo Clinic that it was back on the market at a lower dosage. I understand now it is available at the higher dosage. I went almost a year with very low sex drive. Once I was back on the medication everything changed. I have a very viral husband and sex is important to us.
Estratest contains the active ingredients, Esterified Estrogens + Methyltestosterone.
The company "Solvay" has discontinued the manufacture of Estratest and Estratest HS
Have you considered looking at other brands which contain the same active ingredients?
Brand names with these ingredients are listed below:
Covaryx, Covaryx HS, EEMT, EEMT DS, EEMT HS, Essian, Essian H.S, Menogen HS, Menogen, Syntest HS, Syntest DS
I've also heard of individuals getting "premarin and methyl testosterone" prescriptions as a replacement for Estratest, with no complaints.
Hopefully this information can help you decide on a different medication.
Just prescribed estratest hs here in NJ, so it is still available. From everything I have read, the suggestions are against using Premarin as it is formulated from pregnant horse's urine. Although estratest is synthetic, made from esterified estrogens, which I really don't care for either, but prefer it over Premarin.
Ruth. Just because it says estratest, does not mean it is THE Estratest. I too have taken for more then years. Since it has been discontinued my life is truly a living nightmare. I am 42 and the thought of living like this is more than I can handle. Creekwood, Amneal. They suck. Thinking about the pellet. Maybe drugs. I don't know. It's the only thing I haven't tried at this point
I felt the same way, but have been feeling better for the last year or so, on a combination of the smallest dose Premarin (3.25) daily along with half of a methyltestosterone tablet. The Premarin keeps me from having hot flashes (it has NO progesterone which always made things worse for me) and the methyltestosterone generic kind of works much like the Estratest HS. I started out with a whole methyltestoterone, then when I felt better, played with the dose a bit to tweak it where I felt best. I feel calmer, more patient, I can focus, and it did improve libido a bit, like the estratest. Hang in there, and work with it a while it may help you -
I have read your post and it was like me reading my own story. I am 41 from Hartsville, SC and have always been own my own with my daughter with very little family support which help make me a very loyal, hard worker. For the past 5 years I have been struck with health issues which one was an emergency hysterectomy at 35. I no longer produce any hormones and between that and my other health issues I fight bouts of depression and fatigue dailey. I am on disability which is not all it is cracked up to be because I am broke. I have been put on estratest and I still have no energy. I was wonder how you are now and if you have found any medication to help with the hormone issue in hopes that your struggles can show me there is light at the end of the tunnel. I know you do not know me but I could use a friend that understands.
My pharmacy has replaced my estratest, which I took for 13 years, with Covaryx. No, it doesn't feel the same. Especially dealing with an already dwindling sex life, depression, & anxiety. But I'll tell you, it's a helluva lot better than going without. I had to have a hysterectomy at 27 & it hasn't been easy. I take a dose of lexapro & occasional xanax, but I don't have hot flashes, horrible mood swings, etc. I just take 2 pills rather than 1. Good luck & I hope you find peace. Xo
Covaryx H.S. was the replacement, which I got thru Costco (reasonably) until now. Just got refilled 90 pills @ $388!!!! Not good!! So if you find it elsewhere for less, let me know.
I agree. I am 46 and I have lost my kids and fallen into an insurance, depression hole that I cannot get out of. I live in Western NC and I guess I am a disposable American. The other pills they are selling for Estratest DS are not the same. We are being lied to and my l life is almost going to end. I was in perfect shape, doing fine. It took years to find estratest and now it is gone. I have no money, no help, and I am unable to even leave my house. I am so sad. I have written senators, representatives, drug companies. Nothing. My kids need me. I am only 46 and I guess this country wants me to die.
I agree the pills are not the same. I had to order from a mail perscreption place and they are not the same as the ones I have gotten from the drug store. Thanks for confirming I now know it"s not "me"!
Can I get estratest from Canada or Mexico and do I need a prescription to get it say in Mexico?
Your post is the most encouraging I have seen...since reviewing, I have been trying to find a way to buy the testosterone and have failed miserably.after 19 yrs on estratest cut off and now near the end of my rope...all online sites for testosterone are overseas with foreign bank wire req'd ..do you have any leads...I am desperate and this seems to be the only alternative. Than you so much for any help
I have lost the answer to my question what can I take in place of estratest?
I have lost the answer to they question I paid $18.00 to ask a Doctor. My question was what can I use in place of estratest?
I lost the answer that I paid $18.00 for about what I can use to replace estratest now that it is off the market. Can you send the answer to me again?
ask a doc told me Vitrelle patch and methyltestosterone cream.
hope that helps
Hi, Mandy... I read your reply & I saw too much of me in it. I could use a friend that actually understands how hard this issue is. {edited for privacy}. I hope to hear from you soon. Hang in there, girl! You are not alone!
What kind of doctor prescribed the estrogen. My gynecologist and my internal medicine doc won't prescribe it anymore. Very cruel! JJ
I have been on Covaryx for several years and got it at a good price with an Rx coupon. It is about $300 for the brand name. It changed my life for the better. I was on prempro before and it made me feel heavy in my chest and low libido. My problem now is none of the pharmacies in my area have access to the brand name. I have been switched to Syntest which is supposed to be the same but it's not. I am spotting and cramping terribly every day. My mood is different. Covaryx helped my sex drive and ability to climax multiple times which has never happened before. I no longer had vaginal dryness or irritability either. Please, does anybody know where I could get a prescription for Covaryx? I am desperate.
