Epclusa For Hepatitis C
UpdatedIn early 2019, I began training for a marathon in Vancouver, BC, scheduled for May 2, 2019. Additionally, I was averaging 250 Grouse Grinds per year (often referred to as the "natural stair master"). At 65 years old, I was in very good health for my age. Being able to complete the Grouse Grind in 35-40 minutes put me in the top 10% of all participants. However, in April 2019, I started taking Epclusa. To provide some background: I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1973 in Ontario, Canada. After this diagnosis, I stopped using drugs and changed my lifestyle habits. Despite the fact that doctors and specialists confirmed I was in great shape, the Canadian Medical Association strongly recommended that I take Epclusa. This turned out to be a big mistake. Within one week of starting Epclusa, I began to feel a noticeable decrease in energy. I fought through it, but I knew something was terribly wrong. I still managed to complete my marathon, but way slower than I anticipated. Subsequently, I found it challenging to engage in any form of exercise. Within two months, I noticed swelling in my ankles, hands, and feet. I got some bloodwork and was told that I had developed Polymyalgia Rheumatica. As the swelling worsened, along with severe osteoarthritis, a rheumatologist put me on Prednisone. This medication helped reduce the swelling, but four years later, I am still on Prednisone, experiencing low energy and some swelling, with a continued diagnosis of Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Additionally, I now suffer from high blood pressure, among other issues. Epclusa seemed to start all of this, leading to a complete change in my life. I am at a loss about how to improve my health again. You can only feel how depressing this all has become! There is no doubt in my mind that Epclusa played a huge role in the deterioration of my life.

Further to my 1st post, I would tell anyone out there not to take EPCLUSA! All the side effects suggested by others, I've had, and still do suffer from taking this drug. What I would like to know is why they would even recommend this drug to anyone as even their own website (EPCLUSA) acknowledges the side effects. What we need is a class action suit against that company and also remedy to undo the side effects and make us healthy as we were prior to taking EPCLUSA!
Hi Gerard, I'm in Australia. I also did Epclusa maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I got cured, but I now also have different medical ailments: asthma, emphysema, nausea, edema, etc. I think I was healthier pre-treatment. I've given up trying to quit cigarettes; it's the only vice I have left, unfortunately. I've heard different outcomes with Epclusa; everyone's different, but I certainly would not do it again. I've become skeptical of governments saying they're going to help a minority group like us. Write me back if you want to compare our situations.
