Effects Of Prednisone.(prednisolone)

Im an 18 year old Male, supposed to be a fun time being 18 and all….but boy has prednisolone stuffed up my last year or so. Maybe i just react worse to this drug than some people, but the way its hit me has to be lived to be believed. The irritable uncomfortable feeling (even when your trying to relax on the couch), the anger and mood swings that are constant, the weight gain and wanting to eat all the time, the insomnia which makes you feel even worse for lack of sleep, the gigantic swelling in the face to make a once normal face a horror show, the fever which is so often there, the acne all over my body, the lack of confidence I now have, the depressing way you now interact with the ones you love, and one of the worst things to go through, the looking back and remembering how good it felt to be normal, and not knowing if you will ever have that feeling again..hmm i think its fair to say anybody on this drug for a fair amount of time has been through hell.

I have been on prednisone for 17 years and am 23 years old. i had a stoke when i was 6 and have been on and off of it since then. the longest time being a year and longest time on over ten years.
The effects are great in amount, but depends what you need it for. currently this is the only way to prevent my neuphratic syndrome is to take this.
i have taken 60 mg for month all the way to ten many months and less. i am currently on five a day.
i do not recommend this drug tp someone who noes NOT HAVE to take it.
It can cause extremely high anxiety, drastic mood swings, lack of sleep leaing to almost insomnia, anger, a fear that everyone dislikes you, extremem stomach allments, weak gums, strange bruises, thin bones and skin, over long dosage joint damage, and can eventualy lead to depression.
It is a very unstable drug and can cause many psychological effects. I do not recommend for a person to take this drug for a long period of time.

Wow I share your feelings. I just took a packet for 6 days, finished it and since have been so depressed, angry, unsure and hopeless feeling. I too want to feel normal again and am very worried about my mental health!!!!
