Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.

it's just a little bit confusing for me because i just had my period last june 23-25..i took the pills 36 hours after the intercourse,do u think it is withdrawal bleeding and not implantation bleeding ? m sorry im just really paranoid here..

Hi everyone, I had sex with my partner last June 18 and I took nordette at 1:08 pm the same day, after 12 hours I took 4 pills again. I did experienced WB, I guess because I had bleeding spots on my panty liner but I forgot to take note of the date, and today was my period schedule July 7 and I am bleeding. Is it my period already? I used PT yesterday as well and it turned out negative. Thank you.

Jess: if you had unprotected sex on your last day of period, you are not fertile definitely. Your bleeding after you took nordette will mean the effect of nordette on your cycle. It may also mean the first day of your mens again for the next cycle. Remember, any hormone you take will alter your cycle. In short, it will confuse your regular cycle. It will make it either short or long depending on your body's response. In your case, you bled within 7 days. Its the withdrawal bleeding from the nordette. If you want peace of mind, you can check preg test after 2 weeks if you like.

Piaaa: yes it is your cycle bleeding based on your history. Its a good idea too to take note of our bleedings monthly. It helps a lot too.

jess: just a little word of wisdom for all of us. nordette is used as an emergency measure only to alter your cycle so that there will be delay in fertilization and with that delay, there will be no fertilization . it does not stop fertilization if there is fertilization already. it is not a contraceptive pill . if you are sexually active, you can opt for regular ocp. you can ask your ob for reference of low dose pills for less side effects.

Piaaa: Some women will experience different shades of red. Maybe on your next period you will have a darker one. It really depends.

How likely will i get pregnant?

My boyfriend and I had an unprotected intercourse yesterday (July 11). I'm fertile and according to my calendar I'm ovulating the next day (July 12). I took Nordette as Morning after pill 1 hour after our intercourse and 2nd dose after 12hrs from 1st dosage intake.

How likely will I get pregnant and should I take another morning after pill just to be sure? We're not ready to have a family yet because he just started his business and we're too busy. It was heat of the moment and we weren't thinking that much.

Should i also get a long term birth control like IUD and such? Is it advisable for a 24yr old lady? I don't know if its a practical idea since we don't have sex that much (only about once or twice a month. Thrice is the max).

Ackimojo: nordette Inhibits ovulation. Theres one study stating that nordette given one day before ovulation prevents ovulation thereby chances of pregnancy is low to none. Since you took it as within the time frame, the effectiveness will be high.

Hi. when did you check your pregancy test? If you checked it immediately after your deed, it wont be accurate. But you mentioned about withdrawal bleed and after a month of that bleed, you have no more mens. You can recheck the test to make sure. But take note that sometimes, there will be a disruption of the cycle when you take those ecps. Update us again.

Actually i did the test a month after the deed.so it is accurate,right ? but then since i have no period yet i checked pregnancy test again,and its still negative..so i guessed i'm not preggy..

Hi! I think you are not preggy based on the preg test. Sometimes our cycle would depend on our weight too. Meaning, our weight, if a bit heavier would also have an effect on our cycle and most especially if altered by ecps. Maybe your body is just adjusting on the cycle. But its imperative that we should be aware of our cycle too. Write it down and take note.

Hi sis ! i got my period last monday,it's a bit heavier than the previous one but it's fine. so i can say nordette is effective. but i will never gonna put myself in this kind of situation again haha ! thanks to your advice :)

Hello jess. Good to hear but yes its very psychologically traumatic and the anxiety surely makes us realize that we dont want another of this occurence to happen again coz its so stressful. we really just have to be careful. Regular ocps is an option if you continue to be active. You can ask your ob for that.

Hi. Nag do kami ng bf ko aug. 22. I took nordette aug. 23 (3:11pm) 4pcs. And I will take 4pcs again on 3:11am. Effective padin po ba kase 24hours after ako uminom ng nordette and di din ako fertile and ovulate kase I was expecting na ang next mens ko ay sa August 30 na. And he ejaculated.

Hello. Your symptoms of bloatedness might be due to the nordette. It will normalize eventually. Or your cycle is near your menstrual period already.
