Does anyone know does this medication works for swollen feet and ankles?

I have been taking Furosemide for a couple of years now and it definately helps with swollen feet and ankles. I take 40mg twice a day. I have never had any problems taking this medicine.

My daughter has been prescribed Furosdmide 20mg and Diamox 500 mg for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. She has been on them 7 days and so far has not had increased urination. Has anybody who has been on these drugs know how long it usually takes for this to kick in? Also, does anybody know someone else with this condition? She has just been diagnosed with it and we do not know of anybody with it. Thanks.

Hi, Patricia. I had the same pathology a few years ago. I used Diamox and it works for me; I remember that in few days my symptoms start to get better, but I don't remember how soon I start to go to the bathroom. The Diamox is a strong diuretic and we lose a lot of potassium, and my doctor told me that I was not supposed to feel too dizzy, and I start to drink just orange juice (home made) which works too! I never felt bad because of Diamox.. That's a tip... I hope, you find this page helpful for you. Remember, the best thing for your daughter is to start to lose weight now..
