Methylcobalamin is a nutritional supplement, it is a form of vitamin B12, it is often given to help treat or prevent the conditions that can arise from a deficiency in this vital nutrient.

As a supplement, however, the side effect profile for it has not been studied, as is done for prescription medications. Some people have reported some nausea, after taking it, though.
