Drugs Being Pulled From Me ..advice Needed

After taking xanax .25. 3x perv 10s 4x and ms contin 60 mgs 2x for 5 years and following all of the rules to suit personal was told today i can no longer take benzos..not surprised ..but they also cut mscontin to half dose..i was told i could get suboxene but not there is have to go to a pain clinic..i don't get it as. I have valid reasons..i know people on much higher doses and besides being bipolar im.a recluse..have troubles getting out and having to go start over at a pain clinic scares me

Any advice?? I don't think it's fair if I've followed all rules..have never asked for a increase despite needing one and will never be able to live with my chronic pain without help..thank yoiu

Hello Blacksaddle,

Unfortunately it is up to your doctors discretion if they will write you a script for a drug. At the end of the day if he/she feels that your dosage is too high or that you no longer need a certain medication your only option is to get a different doctors opinion.

I am sorry to hear that going to a pain clinic scares you due to your reclusive nature, but if you feel that you do in fact have a dependency on drugs it may be worth looking into. You always have the option to call the pain clinic you are thinking of going to and see if they are willing to make reasonable accommodations for you, such as not having to attend group meetings etc.

I know that this information is not necessarily what you would like to hear, but it really is the reality of the situation. More doctors are choosing not to prescribe these types of medications due to their high abuse rate.
