I took a drug test for employment & an oral swab was used. I do not use any illicit drugs but I was contacted & told my test came up positive for THC. I do know some people who use marijuana but I understand that it is very rare for a test to come up positive for second-hand smoke, especially with an oral swab b/c it is hard for them to detect marijuana to begin with. I take Ibuprofen at night. Could this have caused it?

I go to a pain dr and I had to go to the hospital for my back. They gave me a shot of methocarbamol in my hip and then the dr called in a prescription for the methocarbamol. My question is, can it cause a false positive for THC?

I just failed a drug test for marijuana and I have never smoked marijuana. The only pill I take is Garcinia Cambogia. I can only assume it caused me a false positive.

I admit, I took a couple hits off a joint a few years ago and the 2 hits showed up. I thought it might and I simply told my dr I messed up and she said as long as I don't do it again she'd let it pass. It's always better to just own up to it first or if your dr is an a**hole, refuse because you're not going to find anyone to touch you with a failed urine, even if it was the past. All you'll probably get is suboxone/subutex. I've been getting morphine since 06 from the same Dr and had 1 outta the first 30 bad and got away with it. I won't do it again. By the way, the past 16yrs of monthly drug screens I've had a false positive for amphetamine that was from icy hot - so you never know what might happen. By the way, a new test was clear so it's worth demanding a new test if you didn't do anything.

I stopped smoking marijuana to get a job but I also take 400 mg Seroquel for sleep. Now I'm reading it often shows false positives for thc. This really sucks. I also take Klonopin, Suboxone and Pristiq. I might as well consume marijuana if it's gonna show up anyway. I'm only on day 5 without marijuana and today I've had very strong cravings, then I read all this. I'm in a very depressed place today and really want to have it.

The Seroquil and the other drugs like the Benzos make thc stay in longer.I take morphine Xanax seroquil and soma.I get tested monthly.Last month I got a test back that said meth"amphetamine ".I insisted on a blood test i said that I'd pay for if I still failed.I google'd it and it was the lidocaine patches and icy hot.I told my dr and still got my script and the blood test was fine.My dr said that you have the right for another urine and a bloodtest so if you fail always insist on another test if you didn't do it the worst thing that could happen is if you did do even a little bit of something you'd have to pay for the additional test which insurance may not cover.If Your on paper you most likely can't get a 2nd test.My brother in law took a test for his job on lifeflight choppers and failed for thc.he's never even touched anything stronger than coffee.he took another and passed.My dr told me that every great once in a while the test cups are bad.I've been seeing her for a decade so I trust her.I've had 1 bad one in around 120 tests.if you continue to fail month after month I honestly think that you might be fibbing a bit.hope this helps.

I tested positive for marijuana on a urine test and I don’t smoke mmj at all, yet recently was put on trazodone, the only new thing in my system. I know it has to be the trazodone. It was that or the lab made a mistake. I’ve been going to a pain clinic for over 20 years so I’ve had monthly U/A’s and never tested positive for anything, however I still had to take another U/A and waiting until my next visit to see what happens. What makes it even worse is I just changed clinics because of a move. It’s really unfair that they’ll believe a lab test over the person. I realize there are people who don’t tell the truth, however, there’s no telling how many people haven’t lied and have been held liable for a false positive lab test. I really appreciate this website where people can tell their stories, as this is all I have to hopefully prove it was the trazodone and of course my WORD AND RECORD.

I took just one and the doctor found it in the U/A. I had my back done and I was in so much pain. I went back again to the same a**hole, well she found marijuana. I hang in the same room with my son, but I do not smoke marijuana. Never ever. Well she said I have booze in my U/A. Well, she took my klonopins that I have been on for 19 years. I never hated no one in my life. I am very said.

The more weight you have the more you’re going to show positive for THC because THC stores in your fat cells. If you were a heavy smoker it could take up to 40 days to get clean. Your drug screening should show a lesser amount each time you take the test and it should show that it’s leaving your system.

My husband is doing chemo for colon rectal cancer and he tested positive for marijuana. He doesn't do any kind of drugs. The MRO doctor said they don't recognize his medication. He was just coming off his pump when he did his urine test. Can't he request a new urine test? Any info would be great!

I’ve gone to the same Dr. for 18 years. I’m a chronic pain patient— 4 back surgeries, 2 neck surgeries and still have 2 herniated discs in my back. I’ve been on Fentanyl Patches for a year now. Two days ago the office called & said the Dr will not prescribe narcotics. This was because I tested positive for THC. Warning to others— watch out.

After a false positive myself i researched the testing and 1 out of every 10k strip cups are defective,and 1 out of every 15k bottles of the reagent used in standard lab tests are defective.I've taken urine screens monthly since 2006& had 2 false positive results 1 for amphetamine which after insisting on electron spectography test which isolates every compound turns out that it was icyhot.to save $the strip test only needs 4 matching alkaloids to be positive,standard lab tests use 12 and the reagent shows positive.the tests aren't specific to each drug and requires only a small amount of the compounds that the drug makes once metabolized.I'd suggest looking for what compounds are required for the test to show positive and then compare to everything you take,if there is no matches the cups defective or you did it.I hope this helps jobs and not losing medications plus being labeled a drug using liar.
