Can Benadryly be taken with this medication as I feel I am having a reaction, rash, numbness in fingers? ## The numbness is not a normal side effect and you should have that checked out. i am taking 2 a day of 100mg doxycycl and in a week i will be in florida and would like to enjoy the beach for a couple hours a few days while im there, is that too much sun exposure if i normally don't burn hardly ever? ## How did your vacation go? When you are taking a medication like this, you are generally warned about sun exposure, because it can make you much more sun sensitive. I have been taking doxycycl hyc 100mg for about 2 yrs now. I have also had ringing of the ear about that long. Just wondering if the doxycycl hyc could be the cause of my ringing of the ear? ## Hi Kim, According to Harvard Medical School, Doxycycline is one of many drugs that can cause or worsen tinnitus. Apparently it damages the nerve cells/hairs that send and receive signals to and from the brain. I am on Doxycycle HYC 100 mgs for 10 days for a severe sinus infection. Can or will this drug take your taste away while you are on it? Was prescribed this medication for a sinus infection however my menstral cycle started the day befor I started the medicine a month later my cycle is still on..... Is this a side effect?????? ## Do you by any chance take oral contraceptives? I notices I am get extremly fatigued after taking Doxycycl Hycl Cap 100mg for acne. Is this normal? ## Hi Mary, Interestingly enough, "extreme tiredness or weakness" is in-fact listed as a severe side effect of Doxycycline. In such cases, it is recommended that you contact your doctor immediately to help address this issue. I took a urine test about a hour after taking the pill ## Hello, If you had a to take a urine test while on Doxycycline, I think you'll be pleased to know that drug screenings generally don't test for antibiotics, nor do they have a real reason to, as they are typically not the kind of drugs people tend to abuse. The worst that could possibly happen from my perspective is if the drug test comes up with a false positive saying that you took something completely different than Doxycycline; but that is rare. I hope this advice helps!

Can you take doxycycline once a day instead of two time a day? ## If you are taking it to treat an infection, then it should be taken according to the prescribing instructions to properly eradicate the bacteria being treated. Does this drug cause constipation. took 1st 100 mg tablet of doxycycl hyc last night. This AM had burny, itchy red rash on right hand. Took second tablet this AM and 3rd this PM. Now have blisters like poison ivy on one finger. Is this a typical side affect of the docycycl hyc? If so, will it go away, or must I change medication. ## If it's limited to one hand or one finger, then I have doubts that it's been caused by the Doxycycline as the reactions it causes usually encompass most of your body. I have found tablets in my house - green oblong capsules with a large white capital G on the left half and DE100 written smaller and in white on the other. What are they? My son was previosuly taking doxycycline and claims this is what they are - but they definitely aren't the same pills as before. I failed a drug/alcohol test and do not drink or do drugs. I just started taking doxtcycline ad nasa spray. Cold either of these effect my urine screen? ## What specifically did you fail for? May i eat grapefruit while taking this antibiotic? ## Hi Marsha, Based on my research, there doesn't appear to be any interactions involving grapefruit juice and Doxycycline. So in my opinion, I would consider it to be safe. Have you had the two together yet and noticed any differences in side effects or how you felt afterwards?
