Dosage After Taking A Break From Contrave
UpdatedI took Contrave for about four months and lost 10 lbs. Decided I would stop and didn't take it for a month. I immediately started craving sweets again and started gaining weight, so I decided to start taking it again. Got a refill today but not sure if I should start over, with the minimum dosage, or go back to the maximum dosage. Or maybe somewhere in between..maybe two a day? I also seemed to develop a bit of a tremor when I was taking the medication and that got better when I stopped. However, I am diabetic and don't want to gain a lot of weight again.

I would definitely start slow if I restarted at all. The dosage needs to build up in your system or you may be subject to more severe side effects. GLTU.
@Rick,
Ultimately I think it would be best to consult your doctor first, but Sherie's advice to start slow does seem like a good idea. After having taken a break for a month, whatever amount of Contrave or tolerance you may have had built up in your body overtime would likely have been dwindled down by this point; so restarting at your initial prescribed dosage does make sense in my view.
As far as the tremors are concerned, NIH.gov, does list "tremors" as a side effect of Bupropion (one of the two active ingredients in Contrave) on the following page: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMHT0009361/?report=details#side_effects. Sometimes side effects do go away on their own just as mysteriously as they arrive *fingers crossed*, but this may just be one of those pestering symptoms where you'd have to determine whether Contrave is worth the benefits or not.
I wish you good luck on your weight loss journey!
I know this is well passed a reply to you, but maybe it will help others out. I was taking Contrave for 3 months and have lost 22 pounds so far. It was not working for me as well as it had when I first started. I spoke to my dr. and we decided to discontinue it for 2 or 3 weeks. (I chose 2.) I only gained back a few ounces, thankfully. I really didn't get cravings back or anything. My dr. told me to start back up with the Contrave slowly again (the one pill per day) and increase it as I had when I started. Today is only day one - and I only had one pill this morning. It may be too soon to tell - but it is working and controlling my appetite as it had when I first started.
