Hi Jim,
Valium contains the active ingredient "Diazepam", a benzodiazepine class drug used for treating anxiety, muscle spasms and seizures.
It does not contain any Acetaminophen (Tylenol), nor does it have any relation to it.
As far as liver toxicity is concerned, Acetaminophen stands alone in its own class of being terrible for the liver, when compared to Diazepam or Xanax.
According to NIH, "case reports of hepatic injury due to oral Diazepam were followed by complete recovery, without evidence of residual or chronic injury. No cases of acute liver failure or chronic liver injury due to Diazepam have been described in clinical studies".
