Does Anyone Taking Lyrica Have Memory Loss? (Page 24) (Top voted first)

I have been on Lyrica for about 8 months now and I am having fantastic results. My dr is trying to increase my dosage and I have been doing it in 50 mg increments. I am up 100 more now in a month, for a total dosage of 400mg. I find that I have very bad recall and loss of my vocabulary during conversation. It eventually goes away, but I was wondering if anyone else has this? If it keeps up, I just may have to drop back down 50mg until I get used to it? That seemed to work that last time I had to raise it.BTW, I have nerve pain in my ribcage. (not caused by shingles)

I stopped cold turkey in 2006 and I still have short term memory loss MD some long term loss. Lyrica caused me to lose my job. I wish someone could find a lawyer for a legal suit. Maybe if we all write to our state attorney general's, they might help since Lyrica is a bad drug. I am waiting for s form from them because they are going after a certain nursing home for abuse and neglect. My husband spent 14 hours there and died. He was doing fine in the hospital but he needed long term care so he was placed in this home. I personally think l they ignored him and therefore he died. But with Lyrica call the Attorney General. He may be able to help.

Memory impairment is common with Lyrica. More disturbing is the 'brain confusion' caused by Lyrica and the fact that it prevents the formation of new networks in the brain longterm which is why I have discontinued use of Lyrica. Look on the web for the legal suits against Pfizer's Lyrica. DO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GO OFF LYRICA 'SLOWLY... 10% A WEEK TO AVOID PROBLEMS, SOME OF WHICH ARE PERMANENT.

I had spinal fusion c6-c7 about 10 years ago. Following surgery the disks above and below the fusion get more 'stress' placed on them and also start to bulge. About three years ago I went to the doctor in a lot of pain and distress. He prescribed Lyrica 2x 75 mg daily. I was really concerned when reading the side effects. I had never been suicidal and didn't want to feel suicidal. I decided to only take 1x 75mg daily. It did help reduce the pain for a time. However, it stops being effective. I did not up the dose... I have degree in Journalism and have worked as a publicist. Over the past year or so I have suffered memory loss and had a great deal of trouble remembering very simple words. I have been frustrated and angry. My brain feels numb, dull and I have felt like a zombie. I have completely lacked motivation. My eyesight has become blurred with slight double vision. I thought I had early on set dementia or Alzheimer's. I am in my early 40's. I spoke to a doctor friend who mentioned he had been on Lyrica and came off it because it made him 'stupid'. I have made a decision stop taking Lyrica. When I spoke to another doctor about what I have been experiencing he said, " yes it terrible stuff! All these symptoms are common known side effects." If this dosage had such an impact on my life and brain function then I dread to think what damage a higher dosage may have caused.

Wonder if you have MS and just don't know it. I am taking Lycria and also have MS. I take it because I had bunion surgery on the side that affects my ms and nerves. Memory loss is a big part of MS. Good luck.

Lyrica needs to be taken off the market. Where are the attorneys? Do people have to die first?! I've been on it since May. They took away the pain meds that worked to give me memory loss, hair loss and now I have to wean myself off the lyrica and hope the brain issues will not be permanent !! Why is this drug still being prescribed?!!!

Nick, you are so off base. You KNOW Republicans don't support healthcare, regulation of out of control insurance Giants, or even Wall Street, for that matter.....etc.. WHO is corrupt? The ones that support the donor class, that's who the R's support, the very rich! Who turn right around and donate to them to keep them in office. Republicans trashed this country over 30 YEARS, and you think the D's ought to be able to fix it in one presidency? That's just nuts. Pls don't bother me w/ a reply. This is the last I have to say about WHO is corrupt.
