I've never had a blood pressure issue and since taking MiraLAX for a week for constipation my lood pressure was 166/104! Could it be the MiraLAX?

I cannot take Miralax nor can 2 of my friends because it raises our blood pressure too much. One friend had to go to the ER after taking it. My husband takes it every day with no problems, but he had a heart attack after taking Linzess. Everyone is different. Just be careful, just because it isn’t listed as a side affect doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

After taking miralax for about ten days, I had my blood pressure rise so much I could feel something going on inside that alarmed me. I checked my pressure and it was 180. I’m always 120. I took an 81 mg aspirin and it slowly came down. Have stayed off the miralax and am totally back to normal. I did go to my doctor who ordered blood tests, etc. all came back normal. I would never have suspected the miralax but my husband began searching the rare side effects and found hbp among women 65+ I had ruled everything else out…the Miralax was the lone culprit. My dr wasn’t aware of this.

always had great blood pressure. After taking miralax for a few days it is now 170. I will never take this again. Will wait over the weekend to see what happens. If not down' will contact DR.

I started taking miralax and my pressure shot way up . Then stopped for a few days now blood pressure going down . I'm done with miralax there is something in this that causes blood pressure to go way up. Very dangerous be ware.

Nadine, I stopped the Miralax and I feel MUCH better. I was prescribe a small dose of Lisinopril 5MG daily for my BP and I will stay on that since my BP has been a bit high for the last few years and my family history includes some significant heart problems. I too will be using prune juice to help with constipation. I have an end colostomy because my anal cavity was paralyzed due to my SCI.I am tired of trying medications that hurt more than they help. Natural substances seem the better choice for me. I am 61.

I had a urinary catheter inserted after prostate operation and was told to take Miralax and yes the Miralax worked to give me soft stools, but it also spiked my blood pressure to 170/100. Had to stop it.

I am with you, Sam! The exact same thing happened to me. I ended up hospitalised and waited to CAT scan and an MRI. I have a $3000 deductible on my insurance that Just started over so now I have to pay out all because of the MiraLAX

I just got out of the hospital. I was given some very expensive tests due to high BP. The doctors found nothing but they gave me a BP medication that I plan on taking tonight. I took my Miralax and I can feel my BP is high. It was recommended for me because I have a SCI and I had to have a colostomy. This is very upsetting. Now I owe a huge medical bill. It seems like a lot of people have this reaction. Why does'nt Miralax have a warning?

The exact same thing happened to me. Miralax prep before my colonoscopy, no previous BP issues, the anesthesiologist told me that during the procedure it went up over 200 3 different times. Remaining dangerously high for the next 2 days I called and urgently requested a script to bring it down when 190/100. I will see a Cardiologist next week and hope that this is a temp. side effect.

I have been off bp medicine for 6 months and it has been controlled. Still having bowel problems and my doctor wants me to take a full dose morning and night; and a double dose if I'm really constipated, so I have started it again. Thought my higher bp was just because of constipation. I took a double dose last night and woke up feeling horrid. My bp was 200/123 and thought I would die. Took bp medicine and it finally went down. Hate taking miralax anyway because of bloating etc. I really feel miralax is the cause looking back to when I started taking it again. Prune juice for me. I am 67 yrs. Old.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I didn't take Miralax, but a solition very similar and, 8 days later, my normal blood pressure is STILL dangerously high. I give this to my special needs daughter, 23 years old, and her BP is higher than it should be. The Pharm co. and/or doctors are keeping us in the dark about something very dangerous

I have been taking Miralax daily for over 3 months. I have always had Hypertension problems and take a low dose med which did correct it. But lately my BP spikes have gotten higher & my home readings won't go below 160/95? I did think Miralax had HBP as a side effect but after reading these comments, I'm stopping it today & flushing it out with lots of water. I will stick with natural laxatives like prunes. I will check back in a few days.

I was in the hospital and very constipated and took Miralax for a couple of days and I do not know if it was a coincidence but my blood pressure spiked to 180/100, 3 days in a row. Very scary. Stopped Miralax and blood pressure dropped to normal. Who knows what it is in the stuff that is causing spikes.

I will never take Miralax again. I am eating prunes every day and seems to help and do not have blood pressure problems.

My doctors had me on Miralax for 3 years. The last 3 months I have had high blood pressure and it's getting higher as time goes on. Doubling my BP meds has not helped. Finally I found these posts. I have stopped the Miralax for one day now. I will report back in 8 days. I hope this works for me.

My blood was 157/102 after taking Miralax last night and starting realizing that it goes up every time I take it which is about once a week. Never again.

I have high blood pressure but I have been taking Losartan and maintaining a good bp 120's/70's. I took miralax last night and today my bp is 150's/90's and sometimes higher. I have been drinking water trying to flush this crap out of my body. I will never take it again. Headaches and high bp and feeling sick is for the birds. For now on I will drink prune juice. All natural for me.
