What Medicaid will cover can vary tremendously from state to state depending on current regulations and funding, so the best suggestion I can make is to call your caseworker and ask them if they know.
Learn more Suboxone details here.
Alternatively, you could also try calling one of the doctors that treat with it in your area and ask them. You can find a list of local doctors at the website Suboxone.com
Can you post back and let us know if you have any luck and what you find out?
Yes I have sc Medicaid and only pay $3.40 for a month supply regardless of the dosage.
I found if you call the drug store two days before you take your script in they will fill it in Mobile Al. But some want fill it no matter what you do. They need to be sued
Absolutely..medicaid expansion was especially targeted for opiate treatment for today's addicts as well as the pre-existing health problems of the babies born during the crack epidemic of the 1980's. Just go to the pharmacy..like you did at your clinic and receive your government entitlement..with dignity.
I found a rite aid to fill my script for 42 every 28 days. But I have to call two days ahead. They order it and it comes the next day after 3 pm. It costs $3 dollars and 90 cents on Medicaid. But I have to pay $150 dollars to see doctor who want take Medicaid. I can live with that
Do any doctors accept medicaid for the visit? Anywhere in Anderson, Greenville, or Pickens County in SC. I've never went for treatment.
I realize how old this post is but I thought id let people know in texas I'm on Medicare AND Medicaid and the rule here is you have to get a pre authorization done for suboxone. Once you do it lasts for 1 year and my year ran out and I was easily able to renew it by the next day. I also use Walgreens and have had no problems at all even if they run out they will call other walgreens here to find out who has them in stock so ive had a fairly positive experience. Id also like to note I haven't had a single urge since I started the suboxone and I can even take half of an 8 when my normal dosage is 16mg daily for weeks with no ill effects I think I may be able to ween off soon if I'm able to handle 4mg daily any advice from those who have weened off am I on the right track? I haven't told my dr yet because I don't wanna risk it until I'm sure.
Re: Slandaro (# 8)
I know this is long past from when you've posted about your experience with Suboxone in the state of Texas. But I have a quick question on how long your "prior authorization at the pharmacy" took before you could fill your script? Thanks for your time!
Re: Teresa (# 3)
Does SC Medicaid cover the visit as well? Just moved here and looking ASAP
