Does D Amphetamine Salt Combo Work Immediatly For My Son

My foster son has ADHA he just began taking D-amphetamine salt combo 5mg. it is blue, round, x on one side of tab and cor 130 on the other side. how long till i start seeing it work for him and what are side effects and signs that its not working.

Hello,

Seeing as everyone reacts to medication differently, it is impossible to know how long it will take the medication to start working or how well it will work. From what I've read, some have noticed changes in a couple of days and for some, a couple weeks to a month.

The side effects are: loss of appetite, weight loss, dry mouth, stomach upset/pain, nausea/vomiting, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, fever, nervousness, and trouble sleeping.

If your son experiences any of these rare but serious side effects, seek immediate medical attention: shortness of breath, chest pain, fainting, severe headache, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, jaw/left arm pain, seizures, swelling of the ankles/feet, extreme tiredness, blurred vision, weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, confusion.
