Does Anyone Know A Doctor That Will Prescribe Me Xanax In New Orleans
UpdatedI've had alprzolam prescribed to me before but I need help finding a doctor in New Orleans, Louisiana. Can anyone help me? If so, PLEASE reply ...
Thanks
If you suffer from anxiety and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), usually your best bet is to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. Reason being is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and many general physicians are reluctant to prescribe controlled substances due to abuse and the heavy regulations that they have to abide by from the government.
If you do opt to see a regular medical doctor, some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any given medication right off the bat. Make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach (in my opinion), is to discuss what has and hasn't worked for you in the past. Most doctors will hear you out and take it under consideration if you approach them in this manner. I don't think a lot of patients get the medications they hope for, due to how up front and "needy" they come off as to doctors. Unfortunately, doctors just tend to see that as 'drug seeking behavior'.
Linked below are a list of psychiatrists in your area that may be worth contacting:

Hope this info helps!

I am suffering from a panic attack. It's been 5 days. The doctor gave me something and when I called crying he said I had to wait for the meds to kick in. I can't handle it anymore. Can someone please help me? Do u know of a doctor in or near Baton Rouge, Louisiana who will prescribe Xanax? I took it years ago for this very problem and it was the only thing g that worked.
I need a Dr. In Salt Lake City, UT that will prescribe xanax! I have severe anxiety and my family dr. Is so against xanax! But it is the only thing that has worked for me in the past.
You are very well spoken & everything that you have said was very true. Unfortunately, Dr.'s are just as careful & even fearful of their patients as we have to be as their patients. Even with a long history of medical records from local Dr.s that my new Dr. knew & were extremely well respected, and I was on the same 2 meds for yrs.. He said that Xanax was a psycho drug, I kept going back 3 times for my pain meds & it became way too obvious to him by what nerve pain I was in that if I got an OK from my psychologist, he would give me a few now and give me my usually dose the next visit. I had to go every month & a u/a every 3 months to see if I had the medicine in my body. Now that it's been a yr. & new MRI, I can go every other month. He is a Pain Management Dr. (the new thing for old ladies) & as before an orthopedic. 7 yrs went by & medical turned to Governmental & I'm sure the same amount of street drugs are still on the street. Maybe when I'm walking with a cane, the Govt. will feel safe about these 60 & 70 yr. old street gangs. Is this the best that the Govt. can do? I would doubt this has made a dent on a street problem no one can cure. I have felt sad for quite a while with this new bible of medicine push on older people to try & understand. It's the disrespect & the questioning of the integrity of the older which is now me. There is no answer, as I ramble. Thank you for listening.
Hi I'm a 23 year old who's stressed to the Max I have suffered with anxiety and panic disorders since I was 9 years old when my mother passed away, however my father isnt in my my life. I take take care of my 7 year old niece including my grandfather who's very sick ..I work 2 jobs.. and I'm currently going to school my life is so hectic right now I'll worrying and worrying and I'll have panic attacks everyday which triggers my anxiety and makes things worse.. I'm on Medicaid.. I live in the new Orleans area and I need something to calm me down.. of anyone knows a Doctor who would take Medicaid and help me get some type of benzo but attacks get so bad it stops me from breathing I really need help thanks!!
Dr Schwartz is very open and understanding about benzos. Look her up.
man i been looking for a doctor to give me my anxiety meds. i heard of one, but im not 100% hell write
Tun
There's no way of knowing except to make an appt to see him. Benzos are getting VERY DIFFICULT to obtain even in those with legit severe anxiety disorders I'm a 9-11 first responder and suffered with PTSD . Back then Xanax was the go to drug especially for those suffering ptsd..due to tightening regulations I decided to taper down. And now use interventional holistic approaches for my disorder. It HARD but I saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to become left high and dry with no recourse if they stoped rxing them. I wish you the best.
Who? Cuz I'm dying with panic attacks only the er will write, I can't keep going to the er
Re: Natalie (# 11)
Hey there, what hospital did you go to? And what and how many did they give you? Just curious. Thanks Randy
Re: David (# 1)
You, my Friend are SPOT ON. If you take your records and LET the Doctor lead the conversation w/o asking for a specific drug, it will be a much more productive visit. Good Luck Sweetheart.
Re: Natalie (# 11)
Take your ER visit notes to a GP. Once he reviews your records, he will make the correct decision. Let the Doctor ask you questions and answer them honestly. I goes a long way to be honest AND not ASK for a specific drug. Good Luck.
Re: lily (# 8)
Writer will want to know where Dr. Schwartz is located.
Re: Smith (# 6)
Sweetheart, I hear you. I believe the Gov't is after Street Sellers but unfortunately many street sellers get them from Pill Mills and that's who they are after (I hope). I too am older (65) and feel if we can't stop the ODs from illicit drugs and esp. Fentanyl, this war on Chronic Pain Patients will be over.
Looking for a doctor who will prescribe xanax or benzos in New Orleans for stress. Currently on medicaid but will pay out of pocket if neccessary. Thank you for the help.
I used to be on those then I got on klonopin, I'm not sure if he can still prescribe them or not but his name is Dr Robert Ancira. He is a great dr. I had a pain medication problem so I couldn't be on both. Now I'm trying to go back to him but he no longer takes my insurance, office visit is $100.00.
