UpdatedI suffer from severe panic attacks on a daily basis. im a perfect example of a person that needs medicine and is unable to get it because of so many people abusing prescription drugs. I have such severe anxiety and panic attacks and cant find a doctor to prescribe me xanax because im only 25 and its so addicting. but what they dont understand that i should be on xanax for the rest of my life because my anxiety is so bad. So if any1 knows a doctor in the monmouth county area of new jersey that will prescribe me xanax please let me know...thank u

Yes my pcp recommended that I go back to an anxiety medication I use to take that really helped me great. I was very comfortable on them and the medication really soothed me. After my mom's death, also my fiance in the same month, I just felt like just sleeping. I never did the things that I used to do. I actually slept the whole day away. I had lost so much weight it's like I crawled in a shell. So if u could help me out in a way that is positive to me I would love to hear from you. {edited for privacy}
Re: Robin (# 341)
Why can't your PCP write you for Xanax? Xanax does many things, but if you are having problems with sleepyness when not on them, taking Xanax to become unsleepy is not going to happen
Re: Damianle (# 339)
Y r u asking who my PCP is..
I cannot speak to your county. But you will not get a prescription for Xanax (or any other controlled substance) by "ordering" it from your doctor. Do not mention the drug. Tell your doctor about your symptoms and look up on internet & make sure you have
omitted one thing becauseyouaregoingtoneedit later.
Expect to be started on Buspar. Smile and thank the doctor for helping. Call office 5 to 7 days after picking up script to advise it's not working and describe a panic attack with a new symptom, the one that you kept in reserve.
That said, this is a very bad idea. Yes, you will get some real relief initially but that fades over time and then all you will be accomplishing is not dying from your panic attack. Alcohol and Xanax are the only two substances that you can die from cold turkey withdrawal. And if you lose your bottle, good luck getting an early fill. I never keep my whole prescription in one place for that reason.
But I am 72 and been on this crap for over 15 years. I never asked for it, I didn't know what it was and if I had researched this drug, I would never have taken it at 6 mg a day. You are young. You have your whole life in front of you, mine is behind me.
In one sentence: Be smarter than your post. Research how horribly detrimental alprazalom is and its effects on the brain and central nervous system.
Re: Debra (# 344)
Who were you speaking too? Doesn't matter, you made some interesting comments. Expect to be cut off at some time in the near future do to age & doctor liability. I have a 3 year supply stored at a safe location. I'm a bit younger than you, went through an ill advised cold turkey in 2010 and barely made it. Many doctors will stop filling this medicine at a certain age. We must have a plan to withdraw use with the Ashton method , or possible in patient hospitalization rehab (one that uses benzodiazepines.) I wish I never saw this poison
Re: Verwon (# 1)
I fully disagree with this comment. Doctors 99% of the time go by what their college background has taught them by the books as it’s called and it’s not the correct treatment for people with severe anxiety. No antidepressant on the entire market will help for anxiety in even 10% of the way, therefore they are not efficient anxiety medicine. I have been on 10 different antidepressants and none of them did a single thing except made me feel like s*** and unable to work still and not talk to anybody. Soon as I get Xanax I can go out to work, not have a tic disorder, talk to people properly without the Asperger’s look. It’s the most therapeutic thing in the world to me, so for you to say this shows you are just one of the uneducated people who don’t have severe anxiety yourself. Stop being selfish and understand some people do have serious anxiety disorders such as the person you responded to here and needs that type of medication. We don’t ask for it because we are addicted or wanna be. We ask for it so we can talk to people like you can like a normal person without our face flaring up with the worst anxiety you could ever feel in ur life unable to even be in a public setting for more than 5 minutes. That makes me so mad when people act like this because you just don’t understand and never will stop being selfish. All I gotta say is if somebody has anxiety and is over 18-21, whatever you classify more as an adult, they deserve to be allowed to ask for that medication whether you believe it or not!
Re: Kalvin (# 346)
So Verwon is 99% wrong? I don't think so. Seems you know what you want and need, but you are not a doctor. I have read of many people suffering here, yours is a compelling story, but again you are not a doctor. In fact I might not want you as a patient and send you to a specialist who needs to get to know your problem better, which includes other treatment and medicines as well. Your problem sounds too severe to just stick you on a benzodiazepine.
Hello everyone:
I live in the Cape May area and was prescribed 1MG Xanax 4 times per day for about 2 years by my family doctor - (my parents and my husband were also receiving benzoiazapine prescriptions from him) however, seemingly out of nowhere all of his patients were informed he would be transitioning everyone off of narcotics/controlled substances. I am now on the search for a new doctor willing to prescribe me Xanax as i suffer from Anxiety and PTSD) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Re: DONNA (# 81)
I would like to set up an interview with this doctor.
Re: Henry (# 91)
Henry, you are willing to travel from Key West Fl. to the British Columbia border in order to get Xanax? The U.S. is very big, and you will be required to attend regular follow up appointments
Re: the Man to talk to (# 10)
Is this dr still available?
Re: the Man to talk to (# 10)
Would you mind referring
Re: Daveg (# 352)
That was 11 and a half years ago Dave. "The Man to talk to" might not be the right resource for you to talk too. Perhaps check on Google, or your medical plan provider book. You can check with your local Hospital, or with the State Board. Even your County might help?
I'm looking for a doctor who will write a prescription for Xanax in River Valley, NJ. If anyone can please help point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it!
