Chris don't look at the date on publica that is not how you determine who does what. Look carefully at the other variables; fax your records ahead with a simple introduction letter DO NOT mention what works for you; if they appear to prescribe that medication then they have no problem with that drug ok.

Next put yourself together and no female hysteria. It never worked for pain patients and physicians want you to appear strong and pulled together regardless of how you feel. Look them in the eyes bring a few weeks pain charts with you showing how high your pain was on awakening and late at night.

If you have someone staying with you who will go to appointment to comment how severe the pain is that will help. Even if you just had surgery, need to go to a GP who said you had brain tumors there is a stigma of too many physicians and medications being written and sold. LESS is BEST.

I had one pain specialist for over 10 years and left him because he left me (died).

I had another for next 5 years I was near death from adrenal failure due to pain (regulations changed so out of state got the boot).

In between on physician wrote us a few months then referred the bad one to the best physician in America; I was the worst she did not want liability on me.

Overdue to see my surgeon for over 6 years now maybe 7. Due to insurer Dr. T. wrote the referral but I'd gladly go when next physician writes a new referral.

Keep it simple. I fax records with a cover letter ahead of me. I have those California scripts (3 class 2's on one page really wild looking) but fear if they see my normal quantity they will code before they say yes to seeing me. I am on much less now and unable to function one goes with the other.

Keep it simple ok chick.

Chris all you have to do is put the medication say it's Methadone down, the state Florida and then Publica.

Do this on any search agent. What it does is through 2012 give you physicians (under Medicare part D) who wrote that particular medication in highest quantity. If you double click the link you put that information into google or any search agent you will see what it means.

So you see a physician who writes a large quantity double click the name and the address will appear. Under there to the left it will tell you the percentage of patients who left the office with class 2 medication.

If you find one or two that you think might work then I'd make sure they are still in business so check the state medical board. With all the hoopla here I'm pretty fed up right now. I've taken far too much time out of my own situation to reach out to find other people help and give support and a few angry, hell bent on destruction posters determine they know this and that.

Right now I have to deal with a lot especially due to this stupid appeal. They are just attempting to override my win with the Judge knowing it will be the same and perhaps more money in my pocket on transport BUT I am sure they were behind losing my physician. Listen just because this guy has the greatest reputation does not mean squat. The one physician I will stand behind is dead and went to him for 10 years. The most humane and most intelligent PM specialists and he was first a psychiatrist. Dr. J. Hochman God rest his soul.

The other has no bed side manner and even worked the DEA himself. The way that reads to me is he plays both sides of the fence and trust me some stories I could tell would raise the hair on your head.

You know Dr. Joey is in Florida right now just saying. So he's a lot closer to Texas then I thought and in your stomping grounds he too has had pain support issues but people just think because we have a license we are immune to suffering how wrong that is I was injured on duty and took the gig to get my executive MSHA paid for by my alma mater. I am a suit and tie leader normally although I can vy with any of my floor nurses when it comes to showing them "how to" you have to be.

P450-Aww so much so little time/ability to function & think...Called that Dr. his sec. told me he no longer writes medical management that now he almost totally PT which not what I looking for. So his reviews behind the times. This is mostly the prob because found another dr. I went to & he was not writing at all but publica listed him one of higher in fl-Need more up-to-date info since this situation has drastically changed from 2012 to now or even next week. Or go by gut instinct & comparing written reviews say on vitals.
My best by far pain control was from worst available Oxycontin in lge doses since not feel it till reached normal persons death limit-but when kicked in the pain absolutely VANISHED like magic. Never believed possible but how convince of this now in this climate-NOT. I mostly worry my life is being shortened so much & have no control of this-if had poor heart would have been dead already. Stress is such that everything is being worn past maximum limits. I get what say about dr not believing or even knowing about P450 testing-most pm here are QUACKS call you addict take your $$. We need clone Dr.Tennant & my previous pm dr. that DEA tried to get but he is winning!!! Hahaha all I can say because he needs to be returned to help those he can. Amazed they didn't drum up falsities to convict of erroneous stuff.
Found pm dr in Orlando area sounds like may still help & has reviews of listening plus time with patients & accepting previous meds history.Recent review of May2015. It is a multidisciplinary clinic so best for me (or you) taking complex cases. Dr. Brian Dowdell in SOARS Clinic. Highly educated ,experienced.
Health so bad cant count on ability to travel even-last 24 hrs. not able whell to bathroom without much luck & brain power for body gave out completely.
Belong two support groups trying get major rally/lobby situation going but no concrete plans yet. When I am able again certainly shall get something done for this truly is a goal that I will dedicate myself thoroughly. Am willing strength to you & us all through this torture - America is lost in greed
Chris-FL the useless state

Chris grrrr.

of helping you.

Chris please let me remind you.

I was with the TOP pain specialist in America, Dr. F. Tennant and also a willing Ss in his various studies to cure intractable pain and ancillary therapy. All of his patients were tested for P450 at the same time, most of us were billed through Medicare I believe, and ironically they did cover the test. Mine was done in 2012. The cost then I believe was about $3,500.

The GOOD news is for many of us over the years who sat there thinking "this is it this is all these drugs do I am still in pain" we had an answer. Most of us anyhow were rare cases and on ultra HIGH opioid therapy; there are NO UPWARD limits of safety when a person is physically tolerant to opioids. In California as in Texas (and formerly Virginia) there is legislation protecting those with intractable pain and insuring they are treated with opioids for their insufferable pain. Therefore, it made sense why normal dosing did not work.

The GOOD news for my DNA is that pills did not work. LA morphine or oxycontin for me is a 15 minute flush. Anything in my profile (I am a rare 3% Ultra rapid opioid metabolizer these happen to be Western European females and on top of that I have double markers not just one) that was pill for pain did not work. Over half of my medications at the time were dropped including Dilaudid, Oxycodone pills, and HC with no withdrawal for these drugs in pill form did not stick so to speak.

The GOOD news is it reduced my high morphine equivalent for we focused on one method (brand patch at high quantity and high spacing every 24 to 36 hours for I burn them out poof they are barely in me then out of me) and I was ok with one generic form of Oxycodone sln. of course not that old insta fast crap I get the 500mg/5ml sln and won't mention that either for literally I am allergic to adhesives, glues, dyes, and additives they put into generics.

Remember the FDA allows generic drug companies to go UP or DOWN up to 47% of brand content. I am here to tell you (check your inserts to confirm) that they go DOWN always because it is the opioid that costs them in manufacturing, marketing, transport, and regulatory bias requirements.

The GOOD news is BAD it does not matter. You see as I was told the DEA did not give a flying rats rectrum whether or not you or I metabolize rapidly. Further the lab who is genetic expert will give your physician when evaluated a profile of your DNA and what works for you. Now these addiction physicians also known as QUACK QUACK QUACKs will dispute your profile and mumble ugly nothings in your ear inferring you are an addict, and ultimately there is no specialty in addiction they have some national club that deal is not AMA approved.

In your case Chris I'd advise if you could get it done if it gets you one physician to work with it would mean a lot. With all I've got going on maybe you (and or I) could get someone to sponsor those sites where people raise money. I've talked to three SSA attorneys who confirmed what you and I know the problem for me is the time. I cannot sit here with thumb in the wrong place waiting for my checks to start up again, no way no how. On the other end I am going back to court at the higher level. The comp thing I won (write great briefs I'll send you one to make you smile sigh) but they figure the longer they hold out (illegal by the way if I want to for RN's in Texas are considered peace officers and you cannot burp on one without felony) I could extradite these people for the almost killing of me several months ago (yep), and their lack of any due diligence since March of this year.

Did you do the search we discussed or attempt who I found for you? The one physician in Florida had some complaints as he wrote TOO MANY opioids here is the problem ok. For some reason the one site he was on listed his practice as physical therapy so you have all these new "painers" with fresh injury wanting some fix up and back to work stuff whereas he is Physical Rehab (most of those do PM) and they were complaining he wrote powerful medications and were pissed off ok. He also if not mistaken wrote what you were asking about.

If you chose one LA right now what would it be?

P450-Good to know opinion on appearance @ 1st appt. since my impression also was to make attempt being cleanly, appropriately put together-however other school of thought being you too agonized to even get dressed so give me relief- have tried both & neither worked so??! Actually one appt. my pain level was screaming point with a BP to match so not even recall what I said or did....dr. told me go to ER he cant treat me like that. Told him I could resolve matter by taking some of last meds then would be able to think & BP drop. He not listen.

If CDC gets away with the 90mg guideline then they may as well take from budget to pass out nooses to all pm drs. for their patients since drs. follow "guidelines" same as laws. Nixon was responsible for the thug DEA gang-what does that tell us? The fact is if a pain patient (esp. for any length of time) then you will not OD since you know what is going on but these guideline-makers have zip knowledge of any of it so draft rules accordingly killing us with their ignorance, My suggestion also to put Obama in our bodies for awhile then let him suffer with no hope of relief-along with DEA,FDA,CDC,Congress,Senate, Atty. Generals-U catch my drift. It would please me to no end!!

All gov. offices such as SSA are totally inept at their record-keeping,ck/balances, etc. so is impossible to correct wrongs however even when they ARE wrong they are right because THEY SAID SO :) Wish I knew a tip to help out but really luck a lot times which person U dealing with-bro had that experience. Have you tried the healthgrove.com comparisons? I found some differences between their info & publica that were helpful. To all posters it seems our best bet is to use tools such as these websites then just go for the appt. to see if maybe one dr. still cares for his patients enough to brave the DEA.. All states now are bad so not whole lotta diff. Good luck to all-I can't wait till I feel relief again for I will be stirring up trouble for all those responsible for our suffering......

Chris-on my sinking ship.

Hurtin in Texas,

Geez guys you can do these searches on your own hope you have some paperwork, and do not just ask for what
you want prior to getting an appointment. Have some paperwork that you can fax ahead and even if you feel like
crap try to dress nicely and look almost professional. No poor me it is not acceptable we as pain clients must be
empowered.

The top Texas Oxycodone HCL provider from the Medicare list through 2012 is try that one ok?

Plano apparently does not write alot go over to Richardson this physician sends 66% of his clients out with at least
one class 2 and is the top in the state for this medication.

Chris,

They are clearing a message I wrote on the 90 mg equivalent.

Won't happen trust me and I do explain why :)

Chris I took a break but must finalize some extreme paperwork (sigh) for fighting the low minded local SSA folks who have interpreted federal regulations on their own premise denying my claim which is over 15 years old for SSDI and then hitting me with OVERPAYMENT and with SSA even though I am right you still must address that hunk of change which is very high.

The FDA did the 120 mg. morphine equivalent for one reason. HIGH OVERDOSE leading to death from prescription medications. They do know the truth as do we who are valid pain patients--the ones overdosing and dying are NOT the people for who the medication is prescribed. Further the highest drug of death potential is Methadone due to the slow liver pass.

Say your physician starts you on Methadone for LA. On day 1 no relief, and on day 3 you are still complaining. The actual fact with Methadone is it could take up to 10 days for that INITIAL dose to hit you and then put you in a position where you are so snowed you cannot move. Patience is the byword for this medication for those without insurance it is pennies per month, and is considered one of the best LA medications. Hitler created this with one of his scientists when they were short on poppy back in his day.

Therefore, I've said this before the FDA knows this is too low especially for rare cases such as mine. I'd say it took physicians too many years to figure out how to diagnose for P450, and the diagnostics (very easy a buccal swab) is well over $3,000 but your physician can get with the lab and evaluate you. Now Tennant told me for when I was in the study I was one of two of his patients who are ultra rapid opioid metabolizers (all had a defect mind you) and 3% are Eastern European heritage female (I am that for sure). So after all this hoopla and this scientific evaluation, the DEA and Odumma runners could care less. Matters not.

Physicians can write higher but NOT A ONE is being humane and doing this. I with 30 other out of state patients was sprung loose and went from 3 times a year visits (I had to do California with him from Texas and just won in court against my comp carrier not paying mileage for over 16 years and the goofballs are going to appeal on something else I have not had a physician for almost 7 months) and 3 months of scrips to send to my pharmacy in Philadelphia for fill and overnight. He springs us loose with 4 weeks worth.

If I had not done what he warned years ago (put aside a percentage in case of California pharmacy shortages and they have a different fill system anyhow you do not want to fill in that state unless you live there) I would be dead now. I am close to it; housebound, and cheaper to the insurer DEAD then alive.

They will likely raise it before the year comes up too many patients are suffering and physicians out of fear are bending down and ignoring our cries for help. I have never in my lifetime seen a leader actually REWARD Medicare physicians who now decide not to treat those over 30 with a chronic illness financially. Taking the best care in the world (America) and throwing it to the toilet and flushing lives. I hope he gets a nice fat stone in his right ureter and when his wife takes him to the presidential ER they tell him "we are out of Meperidine, Morphine, Talwin, and all inj's., we are out of Percocet, and Lortab but we have two fresh aspirin for your stone pain," and just leave him on the bed with a urinal for about 48 hours. This country has recovery ahead and meanwhile we are being attacked rather then the unethical pain patients selling their overflow so these buggers on the street overdose and die. That is also our problem people we must be responsible with medications.

Ron in Oregon it is easy enough to use the Medicare file providers in Oregon the TOP (through 2012) Medicare physician for writing METHADONE IS or was I'd try him (usually you do not get a doc writing Methadone and Oxycodone so figured the second was your BT) he is a pain specialist as you know Oregon is a very cold state and very hard to find physicians to write anything.

Ironically the top physician writing the secondary medication is an eye physician so there is something funky there perhaps a surgeon prescribing a prn post op but the guy I gave you is the third top physician for your second drug PLUS I see 78% of his patients visit and are given at least one class 2.

P450 - I was on Webinar last night - did not hear you - I want to say to all posters that the webinar is a very supportive/informative forum which is extremely interactive so any questions or comments you have will be addressed.

If anyone has info on a financial aided manner to get the P450 enzyme test done, I would appreciate help. Cannot afford normal prices I have been quoted, and need to show status as pain patient metabolizer. ALSO-any info on a dr. who does not fear DEA anywhere in central FL (or northern).

Thanks - I am so beyond need,
Chris

Lonnie,

You need to state where you live what your pain is
and why you are now suffering. If it is acute or out of
nowhere please seek 911 and a hospital.
