I have a very screwed up disc in my spine I injured during work over 10 years ago. I've been on pain meds, oxycodone 10 mg. My doctor didn't give me enough so I can work an 8 hour day. So I sacrificed my evenings by not taking any so I have enough to get through my work day. Can't pay the bills without working 8 hours every day. So now my doctor hears about the epidemic. He thinks I'm going to resort to illicit drugs. Never tried, never will. That crap scares the hell out of me actually. I'm in a zero risk of even looking at that crap. Now I can't work full time because of other people's issues. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard space. I wish I could find a doctor not so against opioids. I had to sell my house because my doctor took me off them. Also lost the best job of my life. {edited for privacy}.

Spf5- you got that right, I spent thousands on Dr visits that ended up with no results but they kept my money telling me they couldn't help me with any meds, seems to me that not ethical nor legal. One Dr charged me$600 for first visit fee only to take my BP then say he was wrong type dr for me. My BP was sky high from uncontrolled pain yet went higher after that...,. How can they get away with this plus how can they sleep at Nite...., I thought drs were supposed to do no harm..

CJ, you pay a doctor for their professional services. The fact you don't get what you want from the doctor does not mean you did not receive their professional services.

Thank you all for being on the same page as I. As I said, I lost my house, I lost the best job of my life, I lost the best girl / fiance, because I couldn't provide. Couldn't pay the the bank for my house, lost my house. I hit rock bottom because of other people's issues that have no control over opioids and resorted to illegal drugs. I'm so frigen upset that I literally lost my whole life because of other a**holes that don't have any control. People who truly need the help pay a high price. I went to pain management, did everything they ask, and I only got temporary relief. WHAT NOW? Any ideas? Are there any doctors left than can help me? I'm in newton mass. I'm at zero risk of abusing other drugs.

BL- you misread my post. Dr gave me zero services, not whatever I asked for since I never asked for anything except pain management. He told me I needed a different type of Dr that he could not help me.
This to me constituents non treatment òr service and denial of ability to treat me therefore he was UNABLE to give me his services. On top of that he didn't even offer a referral to a correct type Dr so there was not even professional information offered. To me it is quite obvious there was nothing I should have been charged for. If you feel$600 is appropriate for his nurse to take my BP then your opinion is useless to me.
I have worked with each Dr that I have visited knowing the climate of fear they have for losing license and made it very clear that my previous treatment did not impact my treatment with them. I found that all but the last Dr. had no interest in any new patients.
Mind you this last Dr. found it necessary to reduce my treatment by 2/3 of my previous which I had already reduced by 1/3 of my ten year stable amount. He also took 3 photos of my arms and knees to put in my file along with the x rays (12) and MRI that I had supplied along with all my other office records and written evaluations. He apparently felt my shocking appearance would be more effective for a DEA raid than mere medical documentation.
My point being how ridiculous the medical professionals have become, and why they do not care except for their own gain and safety. The patient is nothing but a number and meal ticket.

CJ, omg, there BL, the BIG KNOW IT ALL on this site gives their useless opinion. Here are quite a few of us who wonder why BL is even on here. BL gives no help and I cannot believe the response whoever BL IS gave you. I totally agree with EVERYTHING you said and BL is full of BS!

BL - you need to feel some real pain, when you are alone & can't function or walk. You are a follower obviously and probably a dr. - not to be mean, but you are out of touch with reality & lack compassion. Your thinking is backward. I don't wish it on you, but have a bone break thru your shin for example and when the dr. gives you an antibiotic, you deal with the pain thru biofeedback, then we will see as you beg for pain relief. You need sensitivity treatment.

Bobo, couldn't agree with you more. Whoever BL has no compassion and obviously is not a chronic pain sufferer. I personally am sick and tired of BL giving useless advice, as far as I am concerned BL COULD TAKE IT AND SHOVE IT!!!

Hi ! My name is Hanna, my husband was a Vietnam Veteran, he passed away from a heart attack, which left me with 5 children to finish raising & the stress of it & life, I believe has caused me to develop MS....I have been to my doctors & no one will help me with the MS nerve pain, it is terrible. Just reading your letter to the guy, made me feel like maybe you would understand my situation, if nothing else maybe we could just talk. I have health benefits from my husband having been in Vietnam & being exposed to agent orange. Maybe you could tell me, if you think the VA hospital would help me..., & help me find a pain manager, & some helpful medication. I hope you read this. Thank you.....

oh I'm sorry that you weren't hit by an I.E.D. I'm your 3rd tour in Iraq and ruptured several discs in your back and don't have degenerative arthritis in your spine and now your government won't treat you, so unless your a vet who served in combat shut your coward mouth and worry about yourself cause I have done my duty to you and my country.

You ARE correct, i don't know what this disrespectful BL is thinking. I am sick of comments by this nut BL. All it does is aggravate people like us who have to fight to stay out of pain. Thanks for your service -BL stay off, nobody wants your stupid comments on here.

Hanna, if your health benefits cover private sector doctors, call yout insurance company and ask for a list of Pain Management Doctors in your area that accept your insurance. Do you have a PCP ? You will need a diagnosis from another doctor along with a copy of your medical records. If you have nerve damage, you need to see a Neurologist. They can do tests in their office to determine if you have nerve damage and the extent on it. If you think you have MS, you will need a Brain Scan With Contrast done to diagnosis that.

It is highly doubtful VA will prescribe you opiates for your pain. VA does not find private sector doctors you can see. You have to find your own doctors in the private sector.

OMG BL your determination to undermine our painful lives disgusts me. Take heed of the posts telling you to leave this forum. You are taking up space here for all the wrong reasons. Whatever your twisted purpose for continuing to post please go talk to a psychiatrist about it and leave us alone. The last Dr I was speaking about was the only one who was brave enough to treat me AT ALL after a long list of attempts paying each one along the way. He was also two hours each way, had nothing on his mind but what the DEA wanted with no regard to what actually my condition was doing to my body. The fact he had all my numerous medical records to him was only for DEA protection not for him to help me. When he took photos of my broken body parts for shock factor to the DEA just me furious as to what has happened to drs in this climate of hysteria. Drs no longer follow the "do no harm"...... Instead they care only about their own butts, they absolutely do not care about the patient in any way whatsoever-we are only a number to make money put through harmful regulations that are jeopardizing our very lives. The Dr office has become a crime lab, not a healing zone. You must remove yourself from this forum for you are no better than they. We need help and compassion. Your disgusting presence here is harmful. *LEAVE*

I am updating on my interaction with Mike DeWines office in Ohio, first I was sent emails from Carol Baden on his "heroin task force". Ok fine, then I talk to Carol on the phone, I tell her about my story, she asked. I then tell her about all of you on this site, thinking maybe she would listen not only to my plea, but all of ours. I reached out to her AGAIN and I received an email asking for my phone number. She forwards my info to another woman on the task force and asks me to call a guy who can help. So I call a guy named Jerry Craig, he deals in mental health and addiction, let me tell you all how upset I was/am about this. I sent more emails to DeWines office about how inappropriate this is and I will continue to fight for our rights. One last thing, BL DO NOT EVEN MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT ANYTHING I SAID, I DON'T VALUE ANYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.
