Doctors Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In Rhode Island (Page 8)

I am looking for an MD or Pain clinic that will prescribe pain medication in Rhode Island. I have 4 herniated discs, nerve damage in my leg, severe migraines. My former Md said that he could not longer prescribe due to the regulations, I dont want to have to move, that would be crazy to have to go through that, but I also do not want to continue living night and day in Agony, with not one Md that has any compassion, it seems all they care about is to look out for themselves, I only take 2 pain medications that I believe are both in class 1, but when you talk to a doctor about pain, they tell you to take tylenol. I am tired of theses doctors just caring about themselves, if you have a patient like myself, that has the MRI's and Catscans to show what my pain level is, they should be a little more compassionate. I am not able to have surgery at this time, not until my daughter is driving and able to get out on her own, grocery store, ect. I would really appreciate any advise, I sleep with a heat pad every night on my back, but when I go to get up, the pain is unbearable.

Your doctor discharged you why? Because you were clean, as in not taking the prescribed meds? If you smoke and he said if you smoke before you see him, he must have discharged you for that. He probably smelled smoke. My husband switched to Vaping almost 3 years ago. His Cardiologist was thrilled he is Vaping and not smoking. The pain clinic doctor in Attleboro, MA is Susan Pollan.

My doctor had me do a U/A because I lost 50lbs. She assumed it was drug related. She did a urine and was surprisingly upset my urine was clean. She proceeded to pull up my prescription history and found between July and Nov I was given pain medication, completely ignoring that I was in a massive car accident in august in which i broke 6 ribs and my appendix burst in October.. And then she brought up my smoking she became very judgmental. All before she read my medical histoy

I'm sorry, I'm confused. This doctor discharged you, but why? Was the doctor giving you pain meds? We're you taking them? If both yes, the UA was clean?

Oh, wait... this was a new doctor? We're you not referred by your surgeon, with your MRI disc in hand?

I received 10 vicodin in September when I had 6 broken ribs. Then in October I waited 4 days in agony because I refused to go to a doctor when I was forced to go, my appendix had ruptured. So naturally after that surgery the doctor gave me a small amount of medication. All she saw that doctors were working with me. Since I was no longer in pain I dumped them 3 wks later she did a UA on me. She never really talked to me. She just judged me. It was awesome

Dr. Susan Pollan in Attleboro Ma, she is a pain mgt. doctor, right on the side of Sturdy. My husband was on vicodan then eventually morphine from primary in RI for 5+ years, then sent to PM. She saw her for 2 years, until he had his last surgery.

Timothy Lowney Jr. is a PM and a Primary with PT in the same building who do ultrasound. He is also an AT. This guy is the real deal! I was on 80mg oxycontin x3 and 10mg oxycontin x3 for 7 years for my back. He treated me with Suboxone, I was scared s***less to go off the oxy and living in agony. Well it has been the best thing I have ever done! Suboxone works better for me than the oxy did. I am no longer a shut in, and I do things. Yes, my back will hurt when I do things I shouldn't do. I can still wipe my back out for a week. But the every day chronic pain isn't an issue, and I am grateful.

He is right over the boarder of RI in Seekonk. When I do "mess up" my back, he does this amazing thing..not by cracking bones, just moving my leg and pressing on my back. I actually leave walking upright if I was hunched walking in.

Staff is wonderful, he is wonderful, PT does ultrasound, massage, heat, ice. And they are wonderful too. You can even get 2 lollipops on your way out.

Please help me..i need pain medication for arthritis and fibromyalgia and my doctor stopped my prescription because my U/A was clean. I only take my pain meds as needed. I would really appreciate a doc who will help me.

My doctor discharged me because I my urine was negative for the medication she prescribed. I was taking the medication when I needed it which according to the directions is what I was supposed to do. So since I hadn't taken it in a week it wasn't in my urine, so she discharged me. And now because of the new policies doctors are being threatened with the loss of their license if they prescribe pain medication. So people who suffer from cancer, fibromyalgia, who have obtained serious injuries aren't receiving proper care. I currently have a possible meniscus tear in my knee, sprained that ankle and seriously injured my back after falling in an unsalted parking lot on 2/14/17 and was told i basically have to deal with the pain. I don't know what happened to the doctors creed of "will do no harm" because that's all they are doing now.. And yet when more people start abusing street drugs and the overdose epidemic intensifies by 100% the doctors can only blame themselves

Can u help with that info still regarding the dr who WILL write scripts for a chronic pain patient? I have all my MRI's, scan, etc. help would be much appreciated

I have had many surgeries on my neck shoulder and knees. My doctor just lost his license to prescribe pain meds. If anyone from rhode island knows of a doctor that could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Dr.Chopra Smithfield Ave prov is a pain management doctor who will look at your paperwork and will help you if you have the paperwork to show your needs

I'm sorry to hear that but if you really needed the pain medicine you should have a tleast taken them 3 to 4 times a week. Most pain medicine is taken at least 2 to 3 times a day; that's how they are prescribed. If you didn't take them for a whole week I feel like you don't need them and IF your selling them then you are screwing the people who really needed them. That's why the Drs are not prescribing them. They're not going to lose their license for people who don't need them. Try getting a medical marijuana card for your situation. The oil doesn't make you feel high, it helps with what you say you have.

I am looking for a pain management doctor as well. I had a spinal fusion of L4 L5 six months ago, I have failed back surgery, it was not a success, I am in more pain than before the surgery, I can't sit more than ten minutes, same with standing, walking. I have a significant amount of scar tissue pressing down on my nerves that causes this horrific pain. I have spinal stenosis, degenerative discs, severe arthritis, I have had two failed back surgeries, two ACL knee surgeries, I am getting really depressed because of the constant chronic pain, I used to be very active, working out everyday, horseback riding, riding my Harley, I have no quality of life anymore, if anyone can refer me to a doctor or pain management I would greatly appreciate it, I am not looking for hard core meds, just vicodin that takes the edge off the pain,so I can at least fuction, I am in my 50's with an 8 year old son who is very active, I can't keep up please help me!

Dr. Susan Pollan, she is a PM Doctor on the side of Sturdy in Attleboro, MA. My husband saw her after his RI PC could no longer write his monthly Rx's for pain meds.
