Doctors Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In Rhode Island (Page 4)
UpdatedI am looking for an MD or Pain clinic that will prescribe pain medication in Rhode Island. I have 4 herniated discs, nerve damage in my leg, severe migraines. My former Md said that he could not longer prescribe due to the regulations, I dont want to have to move, that would be crazy to have to go through that, but I also do not want to continue living night and day in Agony, with not one Md that has any compassion, it seems all they care about is to look out for themselves, I only take 2 pain medications that I believe are both in class 1, but when you talk to a doctor about pain, they tell you to take tylenol. I am tired of theses doctors just caring about themselves, if you have a patient like myself, that has the MRI's and Catscans to show what my pain level is, they should be a little more compassionate. I am not able to have surgery at this time, not until my daughter is driving and able to get out on her own, grocery store, ect. I would really appreciate any advise, I sleep with a heat pad every night on my back, but when I go to get up, the pain is unbearable.
Either the pain clinic at st annes hospital in Fall River MA or the pain clinic at Charlton hospital in Fall River MA. Both prescribe lots of pain meds. But Dr Guptil at st annes
I am writing for my 63 year old day with herniated disks.he has been on pain meds and his dr just told him to find a new dr.
Hi everyone, I have posted a couple questions about this myself last year and didn't get a good response. I am in desperate need of a doctor. I have been on oxycodone 15mg for 7 years (obviously prescribed). I have been in 4 car accidents, 1 which was close to fatal. My back is blown and my right knee is torn. I moved to another state and had to change doctors. I couldn't find anyone to help me, so I came back home to mass. When I tried to Go back to my doctor, he wasn't accepting patients . I was totally shocked!! So I have been having no choice but to deal with this unbearable pain. I recently found a job in RI so I'm debating on moving out there. Can someone please help me by directing me in the right place?
Thank you so much in advance for anyone's help.
I have had chronic pain and on meds for 15 years, due to new regulations my dr told me to find someone else and i've been calling numbers for weeks with no success.

I'd love to know a doc in RI or CT also. I have severe RA, Fibro and 6 herniated discs that have been fused and nerve damage in left leg.
Hi everyone, it has been some time since I have been on. I started going to a new MD about a year ago, for 1 Pain medication, which is not considered strong, and now he is thinking of taking me off of it, well my pain did not go away, so why would he take me off it. I still have all of the same medical conditions that I have had? I hope that some of you had some good luck, I thought that I read, back a while ago, about a pain clinic in Lincoln Rhode Island. My daughter is also in need of it, she gets 2 migraines daily, has been on all of the migraine meds, imitrex and their are 4 others and none of them are helping, she has also been for Botox and still no relief, I hope someone can help her, she is in pain everyday, migraines are not fun, I used to get them bad also, but not to the extent that she is getting them. My daughter needs something stronger in pain medication, she is on FiorinalwCodeine, muscle relaxers , Blood pressure meds, and has tried 4 or 5 medications, used specifically for Migraines, they are wearing on her heart and that is not good, she is only 28.
If anyone has had any luck please let me know, the sooner I can get her to someone the better, at least they can give her some pain relief, she is due to get another 100 units of Botox in 12 weeks and her 3rd in another 12 weeks, most people have some relief after the First round, hers actually got worse if that is possible.
Any help would bet greatly appreciated - A concerned Mom
Please keep me informed about your post. I should be moving to road island soon.
Hi Cats68
I have been going to Dr. Hussein, thank you for referring me. I went to him for about a year, and all of a sudden, he decided, no FiorinalwCodeine anymore. I never went over the dose of 2 per day, even though I could have used a 3rd in the afternoon, but I left it as is, I was lucky enough to get 2 per day.
I am so frustrated, I gave him all of my MRI's of my spine and disks, I now have a lot of etreme pain in my left leg as the nerve damage is getting worse from my spine, I havn't said anything to my Nerologist, becuase I don't want to have to go through the Nerve Test Again, it was so painful, 2 years ago, I would go throught the roof now, they stick needles in your nerves and move the needle around and they can see on a monitor what is going on. The migraines are also another issue.
I have read through the posts and their was a few places, St.Annes Pain Clininc, Dr. Shultz, Dr. Chopra, Biltmore Medical and Franklin Pain Management, which is in Mass, to far for me to drive.
I was hoping that you might know something about, which one would be caring and understanding and be able to help me manage my pain.
I hope to hear from you, you are very knowledgeable
Thank you Cat's
Diane

I've dine injections for 8 yrs not helping. Petrified of any survey right now.ra,arthritis, degenerative disk ,disease, spinal stenosis & hip & knee replacements at early age run in family. My younger sister had a back surgery and she is now worse than before. My docs have also recommended burning nerve ending n I'm not comfortable with that because of reviews.
Biltmore pain mgt. In Pawtucket
Try Whoke Body Cryotherapy. A new clinic just opened in Providence, Cryotherapy New England. Good luck!
The druggies that ruined as you claim are not the reason why people are having a hard time getting treatment ... After the big oxy problem a few years back that was literally turning patients into hardcore opiate addicts and leading to a high number of ods our goverment started to get involved attacking pcp ers and even pain management facility's which is mostly due to the family's of the deceased and addicts...I myself have pain like many here I've also resorted to opiates because my pain was so bad ...pain killers are no joke I'm sure more then half of the ppl looking for pain killers are mentally in more pain the physically due to the effects of long term use of opiates... Anyone with common since knows that use of an opiate for longer then 2 weeks straight causes the brain to build more receptors which start the begining of addiction mentally an physically ...I am a addict because of my pain and because I had doctors who didn't give a s*** and loaded a 20 year old up with morphine and dilaudid ..I know struggle on a daily to function normal and am now not only addicted to opiates but to subutex "bupe" as well which is harder to get off then oxy and morphine ..so before you ppl run around looking to get your pain fix or to blame junkies for the reason it's harder to get them maybe you should stop before you yourself are the junkie in pain struggling for normality due to the fact you had to have your poppy ..it's so sad I feel for you all but at the same time your no different then a opiate addict who claims to not have a problem ..remember opiates are at an all time high in the US.. can't imagine why...
If you had serious pain problems you would receive pain med ...otherwise your just another "druggie" as you like to put it.
I go to Biltmore, you have to apply to get in. So you get to meet them first
