Doctors Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In Or Around Picayune Mississippi (Page 2)
Updatedjust moved here two and half months ago and have had no pain care. I have a pain pump installed and was on opana and soma 120 each a month and can't get a doctor here to give me any pain meds and family doc wants me to go to pain clinic but the ones here only do injections which do absolutely nothing for me, been there done that. They act like their scared to death to write a script here and although I live close to Louisiana they don't take Mississippi medicaid.This is no quality of life and there are supposed to be laws about the right to treatment of pain,YEAH RIGHT not here.Please help if anyone knows of pain clinic that takes medicaidhere who give pain meds or one in my area in Louisiana that takes MS medicaid.
Re: Diane (# 20)
Diane If your husband needs pain medication and the doctor will not order it. You need to talk directly to the doctor. Ask him to explain to you why he will not order the pain medications. Some patients request no pain medications at the end of life. They want to be clear headed. Some tell their doctor they will ask for pain medications at a certain point. For example, if a family member is coming in from out of town. The patient will wait until they see the family member. Then they will ask for medications that could affect their ability to stay alert and effectively communicate. I am sorry about your husband.
My doctor won't prescribe Norco and I have spinal stenosis, bulging and herniated discs, facet joint problems, etc.. I've been on the pain clinic route, had all the shots, nerves burned etc and nothing has helped. I live in Newton, MS. Any suggestions...HELP PLZ!

I no longer go to there, he has no compassion left in him, I need a pain management Dr. Everything I have is Chronic neck and back surgery, bladder problems, spine is deteriorating. I stay in constant pain, tried the shots in my back but didn't help (made me too nervous), from my central nervous system disease, would love to find a Dr. close by for pain management that would prescribe tablets.
Re: kathy (# 2)
Hi Kathy, I've heard that dr. Ellis is a good dr. However, I just got discharged from my previous pain management clinic because I failed a pill count..... Do you think Dr. Ellis will see me? I've been a chronic pain patient for a very long time. I've had 3 lumbar fusion's, my L3-L4 and L5 are all fused together. I've got osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, fibromyalgia, edema in both my hips, foot drop in my right foot due to my 1st back surgery. I really, really need to find someone who will help me. Do you think Dr. Ellis will??
I also live in [Lucedale, MS] And have been a chronic pain patient for the past 10 years. I take oxycodone 20 mg twice daily. I was a patient of Dr. Dunk Ellis III in Mosspoint, Mississippi For five years. He was a great doctor and was one of the only ones who would write your pain meds even though the DEA had brought down so much unnecessary scrutiny upon pain doctors everywhere. Around December 2019 Dr. Ellis had to stop writing pain meds. I’m not sure of the entire reason behind it but I know it was Government bureaucratic bull$@!? that did it. The governments concern is supposed to be for the Patients with chronic pain who were prescribed opioid medications. Where was their concern for my mother Who could no longer get her 40 mg oxycodone three times a day when they shut Dr. Ellis down. Where was their concern for her health after her car wreck crippling her back and legs for life. Where was their concern while she was dying in my arms from the heart attack induced from her withdrawals. Where is their concern for any of us chronic pain patients. It’s not there. I’ll tell you where it is. It’s stuck in their wallets and their bull#*@& campaigns to try and get reelected by telling any and every lie they think we want to hear.
I have to drive to Mobile Alabama from [Lucedale, MS] in order to see a pain doctor. But if anyone is looking for a good, no make that a great pain doctor then call;
Dr. James M. Crumb @ Mobility Metabolism & Wellness, PC in Mobile, AL. (251)345-0773.
Dr. Crumb is a great doctor and actually cares about your pain and cares if you have your medicine that you need. The only complaint I would have about the business is not about him, because he’s awesome but his receptionist and some of the nurses, not all of the nurses but some of them are so very rude and their bedside manner is that of an animal. If you can deal with a little bit of their crap I’ll tell you now that it is well worth it to get to Dr. Crumb and be one of his patients. He is a highly intelligent physician so if you’re thinking of going in and trying to bull@#*$ him or lie in any way just to get pain meds then I would think again before seeing him. If you are a legitimate pain patient and you have been done wrong by different pain clinics and different pain doctors then you will know what I’m talking about when you see him for the first time. You can actually be honest with him about anything such as taking a little more of your pain medicine due to being in more pain than normal or taking a different pain medicine not prescribed to you under circumstances where you didn’t have your meds and needed them. He won’t cut you off for that like most of the doctors would. If you’re honest with him he will be honest with you and do everything he can to help you live with your pain. He is a great man and I have much respect for him. For me to say this is really saying something good because High don’t respect any doctors because I’ve been lied to and tossed out an abandoned so much by them. But Dr. Crumb definitely has my respect. I’m glad to have a doctor that I can have an honest relationship with and not have to worry about him cutting me off because Of stupid things as long as I’m honest with him. He is highly intelligent so I tell you again, if you plan on trying to lie your way into it then think again because you won’t get anything past him. But if you’re legitimately in pain and need the meds he’s a great doctor to see. Again I want to say you will have to put up with a little bit of bull crap through his staff but if you can do that this man is an awesome pain doctor
Re: CoastBella (# 28)
Hello, I know you didn’t ask me but I was a patient of Dr. Ellis. The DEA took away his license to prescribe any kind of narcotic medication. They did so with no warning to any of his patients. It was not Dr. Ellis’s fault because he was honest with us about everything going on during this time. The DEA came in and shut him down and made them call all of his pain patients and tell them they could no longer prescribe for them. Just like that we were out in the cold because of the DEA. My mother died of a heart attack that was brought on from her high blood pressure during severe withdrawals after this. But if you need a pain doctor and are willing to make the drive you should call Dr. James Crumb in Mobile Alabama. His phone number is 25134 50773. His receptionist is very rude as are some of his nurses. Not all of them but some of them. If you can put up with this then it’s well worth it to have Dr. Crumb as your pain doctor. You can be honest with him even if you overtake your medications or something happens that you have none and have to take someone else’s because of your severe pain. As long as you’re honest with him, let me stress this, as long as you are completely Honest with Dr. Crumb you will have a great pain management doctor in him.
Re: Diane (# 20)
You should have changed hospice care!!!! This is what hospice is for; to make a patient's final days as comfortable as possible! This is when pain medication is given without delay.
I don’t understand if you have a pain pump installed inside of your body why can’t you walk into any emergency room explain situation to the doctor and ask him to fill it up with whatever medication they had put in it before they know exactly why people are painted and start a common thing I’m sure you’ll have no problem he’s getting it filled ones at the emergency room by the doctor with your required medication or desired medication that went in the pink him to begin with they can feel it through the port underneath the skin and then they can give you a referral as to where you go to get it till the next time that’s what I would advise you to do or call the doctor that is installed it they gave you the surgery and put it in you and ask you for him to refer you to a doctor in state you’re in that will do what he did did… good luck!!
