Doctors Prescribing Opioids And/or Suboxone Near Chicago
UpdatedDoes anyone know of any doctors in the Chicago area currently prescribing low doses of opioid pain medications? Something like 10-325 Norcos, 20mg-30mg oxycodone IR, 15mg-30mg MSIR or even Suboxone?
I broke my back over a decade ago. I recently herniated another disc at L4 and am experiencing terrible pain that shoots all the way down my left leg and into my foot. I’ve been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and am also experiencing narrowing of the spine at L4, L5. I used to be on tons of these kind of medications and was weaned down on my own choice, but the pain has become unbearable and I need to be able to work. I know Suboxone helps with pain as well and is extremely helpful in preventing cravings for higher doses of opioids. I would be happy to even be taking Suboxone given the current climate regarding doctors not wanting to Rx these other medications. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

Can anyone please give me some guidance on this matter? I originally compression fractured my L1, L2, L3 with 20% lost disc space & pinched nerves. As time has gone on I’ve been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, herniated my disc at L4 and now am experiencing narrowing of the spine at L4 & L5. The pain can be absolutely unbearable & I can’t have my life held down bc I’m in sooo much pain all the time. If anyone could please suggest a doctor to see in the Chicagoland area I would greatly appreciate it! I will literally travel anywhere in the greater Chicagoland area to see a doctor. I have my medical MJ card & that stuff helps, but it’s just so darn expensive to get the amount I need on a consistent basis, plus the amount I need to help my pain gets me cloudy & again I need to be able to work. I used to be prescribed to tons of pain medications & I requested to be lowered off of them bc I didn’t feel like I needed to be on that many pain meds & so much of them. Now I’m paying the price for that decision & there’s no way the doctor I was seeing is going to put me back on any meds after the entire process I went through with him to get me off. The only other thing that helps is lumbar epidurals & I can only get so many per year.
Please, I’m not trying to doctor shop or anything like that. I’m just in a really crappy situation & could really use some advice on a doctor in the area to see. I don’t want to be on a ton of meds either, but it’s become blatantly obvious to me that I need some sort of low dose to control how awful my pain gets.
Thank you all in advance & I really look forward to hearing from anyone!
