I'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???

Metro East has a couple of locations in Detroit. They are on Harper that one is closest to the East side. They work on a sliding scale or if you live it Detroit you can go thru a program that is free. Premier on Van Dyke in Warren 586-758-6670. Haven't been there in years. There are plenty more.

Good luck with that...I live in Greensboro and the only Dr I could find who would give me anything even REMOTELY strong enough for my pain is Dr Hooper,I get 120 norco 10/325 , 90 soma , and30 1mg xanax, but i have no ins... so i self pay $91.00 monthly....but if you do plz let me know

I live in upper Michigan (sault ste. Marie), I do NOT have insurance, i AM prescribed low level medication (Tramadol) for pain, however, am seriously interested in finding the closest doctor to upper Michigan (yet one that genuinely cares about his patients), that only prescribes or also prescribes methadone for addiction. As long as paying cash for a doctor visit, a script, etc... isn't an outrageous amount, I am willing to travel to wherever (the closer to northern mi., the better / easier). This is my first time ever inquiring about something like this, and have NO clue at all where to start. Name and / or phone number to doctors office, city etc... and ANY other info would help and be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I have been in methadone clinics for over 25 yrs. I know most of the in's and out's. I hate the clinics with all the rules that have to be done and all the nonsense that goes on in there. I currently go to a doctor's office for my methadone. He prescribes it for pain and addiction, just different rules for each. I am here to help if anyone has questions that I may be able to answer. Everyone is looking for Dr. P's number or address. I think everyone is afraid they will be takeb off. I too have searched a year for his number. I know he takes insurance. I wish someone would be kind enough to let some others know his where abouts or his telephone number. All of us are in need of getting our lives together. So please...E-Mail or Post...THANKS!

I am moving back to Michigan in a month i am coming from Las Vegas and have been going to a state funded methadone clinic because the fees are sliding scale according to your income which at the time I have hardly any. Can someone please recommend such a clinic in the Detroit suburb area like St. Clair Shores or Warren, areas like that?
