Doctors In Louisiana That Prescribe Methadone For Chronic Pain (Page 17)

I have been taking 120 mg of methadone for approximately 5 years. My husbands job transferred us from Florida to Louisiana where I found a pretty good pain doc. He is now running scared and wants to take me off of methadone. Methadone has given me a good quality of life; I am able to work and be a productive member of society. My doctor is unwilling or unable to assist me in finding a new doctor who will continue my meds. Oh yeah, I have been the route of blocks and injections and gotten little if any relief. I'm tired of being branded a drug seeker-I have years of medical records that back up my claims and verify the dosages that I've been on-what drug seekers have this kind of back up? I am looking for a Louisiana doctor, but am willing to travel (within reason of course). Please help!!

I Am very surprised that you are getting any relief at all,methadone is a very good pain killer at first,after some time depending on dose and the individuals tolerance,once it plugs up your opioid receptors,in your brain nothing works for pain,that is in the opiates,you either have to stop the methadone for a while then narcotic pain med will work,that is why i find it very hard to understand that it is working for you at all,i have been on the program for 14 years and am now dealing with some very bad pain i have tried very high doses of oxy,morphin,diladid,fentynal up to the 100 mcg patch with absolutely no relief,,i then had to resort to tylenol staite tylenol,and i got more re leave,that all of the above,and now i have compromised my liver,so now because i will have this pain for the rest of my life,the only thing that i can do is start a detox on the meth,that is the reason they use meth to treat opioid addiction .I hope with my horrible grammar that some of this is understand able. thankx for listening.

I am in LaPlace, La - my current pain meds I'm on for fibro & severe migraines, has recently started causing me to have seizures :/ (it took me around 8+ years of ER trips, & multiple doctors, to FINALLY find a medicine that helped the migraines - Dilaudid injections - but ... Now they cause seizures)
Anyway, plz email me. I would appreciate any help you have to offer.

Hi Everyone - I also live in Louisiana & I think I have some good news! I have information about a few good doctors in Louisiana that will help y''all. I just need to know what city or town you live in, how far you're willing to travel & a few other things. I'm on methadone & have been for almost 7 years. I saw you post about our dr taking patients. I'm sure it was an old post. But I just moved from tax to last and need a dr that will prescribe me methadone was on 60 msg daily for pain. I broke my back and neck 4 surgeries. Could I please get the name of our dr.

I'm 30 with severe osteoporosis, which causes me chronic pain. I'm located in covington and cannot find a doc that will help. If your doc is still taking patients, please give me the name and address. My job is very physically demanding and I really don't think I can do it much longer without help. I've tried the injections and blocks, but they don't help at all.

Me and my husband just moved to Florida were he had to start going to a methadone clinic to get his methadone we are having the hardest time finding a doctor that will prescribe him his months worth were in panama city does anyone have any advise

im rxd 150mgs of methadone a day for sever pain from a motocross accident a few years back, I'm 21 years old now, i have a great doctor and she helps me anyway she can, i go in once a month and get 450-10mg pills, not many doctors want 2 script methadone for pain. thats exactly what my doc has told me countless times, your best bet is a methadone clinic, sucks but is what it is.
