Ever find one? I need one as well.
There are only a few doctors left to prescribe strong narcotics. These doctors are usually in a pain clinic. Doctors are becoming more and more afraid to write prescriptions for narcotics because they don't want the DEA breathing down their back. The physician can have their DEA license revoked and can even lead to having the doctor loose their license to practice medicine. That's why doctors will not write scripts even to the one's who are obviously in pain. Even if you do get a prescription for strong narcotics, especially if it is a high quantity, the pharmacy may turn you away saying things as, "we are out of stock," or "we don't carry that drug due to the strict regulations set on them." If you are in severe enough pain, go to the ER or think about outpatient Methadone. Methadone works very well for pain but is only available to get it from outpatient clinics. Because of the drastic rise in opiate addiction in this country, the FDA/DEA are trying their hardest to target doctors who write these strong narcotics. I hope you find relief soon. Pain is I believe the number one symptom that is seeking relief from pain. It's a pain in the butt whenever you go to the pharmacy to have a script filled for pain and they treat you like a drug dealer or that you are addicted. Good luck and take care.
It's not the doctors nor the drugs. It's the drug addicts and dealers is as to why ppl who needs meds for real reasons can't get them. Plus in state of Virginia, all doctors now have to meet with the DEA every six months and go over every patients charts to see if that person needs prescribed meds. That patient must undergo a full pain evaluation once a year for DEA. If their problems, illnesses don't meet certain criteria then dr. has cut them off that drug or lose their lic.
