Re: ninthwardrapper (# 2)
I have fibromyalgia, severe osteoarthritis in spine and a bulging disc in top of of neck. i get severe migraines along with the rest of the pain i suffer from. I see a pain management doc who's very nice but unfortunately to live a halfway normal life I need more pain, muscle relaxants, anxiety, and depression meds. I do not use street drugs can/ will Dr. Beaucoudray help me? life isn't worth living if you're stuck in bed and well have no life a fact people not suffering do not understand.

If you haven't found a doctor yet if you type in "doctors in LA that prescribe methadone" and do a search it should give you several options. You could also go to the methadone home page and check that out. Sometimes the websites will either have a list of doctors or a link to a site that lists them. Good luck!
Re: Skyblu (# 17)
No way close to Methadone. Much easier! Just split your dose in two. 1 time in the morning and 1 in the evening. You can jump from 3 subs a day to 1 a day and not even notice it. It's when you get 8mg and lower when you have to taper. You can go down 2mg the first 2 weeks, and 2mg the next 2 weeks, 1mg the next 3 weeks, 1/2mg the next 2 weeks, and 1/2mg the next 3-4 weeks. This works for EVERYONE, so now of that "everyone is different" bulls***. I know about 20-30 people who got of this way.

Chances are good he will have to see a pain management doctor. Louisiana Medicaid does not cover pain management doctors. He will also need copies of his medical records from his previous doctor. He may or may not find a doctor that will prescribe him Methadone. But, there is little to no chance a new doctor will prescribe Methadone without trying him on other meds first.
He needs to google Pain Management Doctors in Bossier and Shreveport. Most pain management doctors won't take cash. Some require a referral. All he can do is call a pain management doctor's office and ask.
I need the name of a pain dr. within 100 miles of Monroe, La that will prescribe Methadone & either takes Medicaid or cash. My fiance has had multiple injuries/surgeries. Failed shoulder surgery on left shoulder, 5 rotator cuffs on right shoulder, crushed pelvis put back together with plate & screws, replaced hip, rod in leg, rod in arm & elbow, tmj from broken jaw&multiple ankle & hand fractures. His dr. moved out of state & we can't find one who takes cash or medicaid so he is suffering & it breaks my heart. Methadone works best for him. I've tried googling with no luck. Just thought someone may have personal knowledge of a dr that may help him. Thank you.
Re: margy (# 231)
Your son will have to see a psychiatrist for the benzos. And a Pain Management Doctor for pain meds. But, his past addiction will make it difficult for him to find a Pain Management Doctor.
You say your son is dying. Is he receiving Palliative Care ? Doctors often are more relaxed when prescribing for patients that are terminal. There is a code they can put on their prescriptions that tells the pharmacy and insurance company an exception can be made.
Re: ninthwardrapper (# 8)
Could you please give me the number? I had a major brain surgery done a year ago. I don't do Street drugs. So that really doesn't matter.
Re: ninthwardrapper (# 5)
Where is this neurologist. My son needs to go see him.
Re: Sh (# 234)
A new doctor will want a copy of your medical records from your previous doctor. There is no way of knowing what a specific doctor will prescribe an individual patient. You need to google Pain Management Doctors in your area. Do you have Medicare ?
My dr. just retired and I'm a patient with osteoporosis and degenerative bone disease... Looking for a doctor who will prescribe norco 10 in Northern LA. I am desperate, 65 years old and don't want more surgeries!
Re: margy (# 232)

Re: Heart77 (# 4)
Some pain management drs take private insurance, but for most you pay cash on your first visit. It is usually $340, then like $250 per month, and they do lab work mostly every 3 months. When they do, it costs $300.
Re: Nico Esperando (# 197)
Dont waist your time with him! I called this am and gave all my info and I've been going to pain management since 2012 but they just gave me the run-around
Re: Erica (# 225)
Chances are you will have to see a psychiatrist or PCP for nerve medication. You won't find a new doctor that will prescribe the amount of pain meds you want.

Since soma became a scheduled drug and is known to become addictive doctors rarely prescribe anymore. It breaks down to a sedative.
