I need to find a Dr. To write a Rx. For hydrocodin for chronic back pain, where can I find one in Southern Louisiana?

Dr. Larry Daniels at David Raines Community Health Centers in Bossier City. Just call 318-227-3350 extension 2100 and ask for Paula. She will set you up an appointment. He takes medicaid, cash, and private insurance.

Dr Michael Haydel on Dunn St in Houma,La...he takes medicare or cash(150.00)U see him every 2 months & have to take UA every other time

BJenkins, you will need updated diagnostic test results. Since you have not been taking pain meds for 6 yrs, you won't need the same meds you were taking then or at the same dose. Any new doctor will start you out on what they think you need and go from there. Most pain management doctors require a referral, but not all of them. You will have to sign a pain contract, submit to random drug panels, etc.

I was on Suboxone for about 5 years. The way I got off of it was by weaning myself down and then running out, intentionally. I had to have nothing to do for like a week of intense withdrawal. Cold and hot flashes every couple minutes. Jerky legs. No sleep. I took a lot of baths and a lot of vitamins. And immodium. I took at least a month to start feeling normal and even then I was intensely tired. It's been 7 mos since. I've had a couple minor relapses but it was nothing at all to stop. I wish I'd known how much harder it would be to get off subs than anything else and I never would've gone on them.

VA willing to place their long term cronic patients out to pasture because the CDC threaten to take their license to pratice if they continue to treat the patients with opiods are every other options failed to give relief of pain. The Vietnamese couldn't kill, but our own country will.

Well Said ! Many of those that do not have current legitimate medical proof they might require opiates are no longer prescribed them. Many that are prescribed opiates but tell their doctors they do not manage the pain are no longer prescribed opiates. Many prescribed opiates and especially high dose opiates that want to continue to live their life like they did before they suffered from chronic pain are no longer prescribed opiates.

Many in the U.S. believe it is against their Constitutional Rights to not be prescribed opiates. I have no idea where these people get these misguided ideas.

I was wondering about the Dr. you referred, could you tell me how much the office visits are, how often follow ups are, do they check your system for any drugs, etc ? I'm in severe chronic pain, and in 1yrs time have almost lost the ability to walk and can no longer drive or pretty much anything. But I had to go on disability so my funds are severely limited as well as making a 2 hour trip, but if he's a guarantee I'd find a way. So as to not have to live confined to a bed at 36yrs. old, and be able to see my daughters finish growing up vs. not being able to go anywhere but all of these specialist who "cannot" Rx pain meds.

Doctor that would prescribe norco in the gretna, marrero, Harvey, or west weswego, louisiana. Pain management doctor or clinic that also excepts blue cross blue shield insurance.

There's a Dr Bernauer in lake Charles, LA... Several friends go to him for pain management. All I know is he writes meds for them. 337-474-6960. Worth a call and visit. Good luck and may the lord be with you.

It takes hydro 5 to 6 times the 1/2 life to metabolite.

Juanita,

You have not described what is wrong with you. Is your chronic pain less than a year?

Do you have structural difficulties for example nerve root compression and ruptured discs?

Do you have RSD or arachnoiditis.

There are multiple posters here who are seeing physicians in Louisiana who are being prescribed opioids. Perhaps what you are giving physicians as far as "pain" is not accurate.

Please describe what is wrong.

That doctor is an ortho surgeon, he is not likely writing long term pain medication.

I am in process of asking court orders right now to save my life.

The adjuster is going down. The physician today literally wrote a personal note saying her pain is out of control due to lack of access of medication. I have 100% medical award for life. They will be f****d when done. Dr. Troy does write and I went to him first via fax with my records. They called me immediately to get me in UNTIL he saw my medications. I let them know I am not on the high amounts I was before and they were kind but if you are on long acting patches and instant liquid which due to my DNA profile are what the genetics have shown to work he 'does not write those kind of medications.'

Go for him if you like but I do wonder if he's pulled back.
