Hi Pam, I'm not sure who your most recent post is directed at, so I read three pages of posts on this thread until I saw someone by the name ETECH is finishing their posts with the statement about getting credit or something for referring patients to Dr Ehlenberger.
I've never seen a poster on any thread here on Medchat ask folks to mention their name if they see a certain Dr. Until this Etech person.

Pam, please forgive me I'm a complete dingbat and see where you specifically address ETECH in your post. Sorry. My bad

I agree it's totally sketchy and weird that someone seems to be recruiting patients for this Dr Ehlenberger. Very sketchy indeed!

Pam,

Some patients do partial cash and obtain a free appointment on occasion when they do referrals. Remember any physician who puts his or her license on the line has super high malpractice rates and in general must cover liability. Further once you specialize in pain management you tend to stay in that specialty these physicians are under severe mandates right now.

Hang tight here is the information. Dr. Troy did change his office awhile back so not sure but still in general vicinity.

Dr. Boucadray 2701 Lake Villa Dr, Metairie, LA 70002

(504) 887-7207 or TollFree: (800) 277-1265 if he's not there as for his location.

P450metabolizer, i should be asking how you are doing. you just sound ok on the comp. But I forget. you in real life may feel like crap. i did not mean to act selfish. sometimes i guess I just try and put things out of my mind. i am really really sorry. I even hate to say I am sorry about things. because people have said it to me so much. it just sounds like hollow words. i hope you don't think I am stalking you. Or trying to make u my friend. I would like u to be. And it is mostly because when I just told u b4 what I thought, without any anger and all that stuff I grew up with u didn't even acknowledge it. u were just a kind person.

Pam, you're so smart. I'm forever trying to figure a way how to find each other outside of medschat. What you gave helps. I'll find u using my private eye skills. Heehee

Well guys I want to set the record straight. I have posted with the name etech. If you read my posts way back, there were people looking for doctors in the southern la area. If you check, I have definitely mentioned Dr. Boucadray, and another who was his associate Dr. Hubble. But I had only HEARD that they write. I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. Since I go to Ehlenberger, I KNOW he writes. That is why I was more on to him than the others. AND what is so bad if you are going to go to Ehlenberger, all I was asking for was a little break. I doesn't cost the new patient anything and that doctor was hitting me up for a U/A every time I went there and costing me an extra $25 plus he had me on that damn suboxone costing me a fortune. I would not ask someone to do what I would not do. If someone has a doctor to refer to me, I would definitely mention their name to get a little break for them. What is the big deal? It really does not matter to me. If you want to then fine. If you don't that is all good too. But honestly, if you can look that far back, I was putting other doctors names out there too so to give anyone a decent chance. Most doctors are going to ask that question anyway. I was asked who referred me to him. Just so happens it was a lady that worked at a pharmacy and he thank the pharmacy and the lady after he asked me. Anyway I'm tired and going to bed.

pamj533, did you see the orders that the drs wrote for the MRI? When Medicaid denies a test like an MRI, if the dr believes that it is medically needed, they can contact Medicaid and usually Medicaid will approve it. But, if the only reason that you want an MRI is for an updated test, Medicaid won't approve it and the dr isn't going to bother contacting Medicaid to get it approved.

Pam, regarding your last post about the denied mri & trying to go from emergency clinic to emergency clinic for pain relief..I think you mean urgent care type place which Is open nights & weekends right? I think you're doing yourself no favors with that type of behavior. Why not ask your primary care for help with pain meds until he can get you into a pain specialist?

Keikee, the most opiates that an urgent care facility can prescribe under Louisiana Law is a 3 day supply.. Very few pcp's in Louisiana will prescribe pain meds for Medicaid Patients. One of the reasons is because Republican Senator Charles Grassley sends a letter to Louisiana Medicaid every year, wanting to know what Louisiana Medicaid is going to do to discipline Medicaid Providers that are high prescribers of opiates and several other drugs. This has been going on since 2010 in Louisiana and a number of other states. If a pcp prescribes opiates to one Medicaid patient, that dr knows that soon he will have countess Medicaid patients wanting him to prescribe opiates. Louisiana Medicaid pays drs so little that there is no way that a dr can survive when all they have is Medicaid patients. If you have Louisiana Medicaid, almost of the pcp's tell patients that need pain meds that they need to see a pain management dr. The problem is that Louisiana Medicaid won't pay pain management dr. There are a few other specialists that take Louisiana Medicaid that might prescribe pain meds, but that is it. And with the new cuts that are being made to what is paid Louisiana Medicaid Providers, it is going to get worse.

Cali619, She can try and urgent care clinic in Shreveport. But, I seriously doubt that they will be of any help. A lot will depend on what type of meds she takes and why. If she wants an opiate or certain other drugs they will not take her word for it.

P450 Metabolizer, you know nothing about me. Not everyone posts their personal business on the internet like you do. The situation with the woman from out of town is a red flag for drug abuse. Anyone that needs their pain meds that badly, makes sure they have them before they travel. Louisiana also has a law that governs the amount of pain meds drs at urgent care facilities can prescribe.

Paul, drs can prescribe Soma and opiates. But, the problem is finding one that will. Most have stopped prescribing Soma and Valium due to the high number of deaths where the patients were prescribed one of them along with opiates.

PISSEDOFF, marijuana is illegal in the state of Louisiana. So from a legal stand point you are a criminal because you are breaking the law if you have marijuana in your system.

Hey BL..I didn't know by looking at your post if you were directing it at me at first. That is why I replied the way I did and did not know about the guy with the username PISSTOFF until I read back a few posts. But anyway, being that marijuana is still illegal in this state and federally, doc had to do what he did. Even though most states have decriminalized it and warrants only a citation, I think unlawful would be a more appropriate term and it sounds nicer unless they are into bigger deeds. There are probably more marijuana patients in the U.S. than not at this time.

PISSTOFF- It will probably be a long time before the Feds accept medicinal marijuana so don't hold your breath for that long unless the cartels start taking over. That may even happen first if they keep being distracted by pain patients.

I am in Lafayette la area. I was seeing a pain mgmt doc who wasn't prescribing proper meds. I told him several times at office visit the med he had me on not helping. I got away from him because he is rated 1/2 star out of 5. I am looking for a doc who will prescribe proper meds for back pain, sciatica, and neck pain. I am disabled so I can't pay cash. I have Medicare&medicaid. Anyone know a doc that accepts insurance? I sure can't find any in my area

Country1965, I have put a link below that might help. You need to call Pain Management Drs in your area. Be sure and tell them that you have Medicare first, then tell them you also have Medicaid. It is much easier to find a dr that accepts Medicaid if you also have Medicare.
